NY Post a little slow about reporting news we've known about since last Saturday :p

Leonardo DiCaprio with Lukas Haas and Danny A at Bowlmor Union Square celebrating with the cast and crew of the Martin Scorsese film “The Wolf of Wall Street.” Spies said Leo was “playfully competitive” and bowled 177 in his first game . . .

^Thanks Ox for the NY blurb and filming info! So if they do that, does that means no filming this weekend, and next week, is that right?

Judging by Wolf cast member tweet below ; it seems that due to possibility of Hurricane Sandy effecting NY area filming in area may be called off for this weekend , or who knows, it may make them do even more filming knowing they might not be able to work beginning of next week :idk:

ox: thanks for NY post belated article, and for Wolf not filming news.

Kat

I just checked, and now they are saying 'if Hurricane Sandy" does affect the New York area it wouldn't be to next week , so I don't think it would cause them to postpone this weekend's scheduled filming .

Plus to me , if anything, it would make them more apt to film while the 'weather was good' as they may not have a chance to next week.

However, like I said the other night, we don't know that Leo is part of this weekend's filming scenes .

I guess we'll just have to wait and see if he is at LACMA tomorrow night 10/27 ; certainly hoping he's there , and we have lots of new pix to drool over

So if they do that, does that means no filming this weekend, and next week, is that right?

^Ohh filming still on for this weekend... :/ Well very possible it is not scenes with leo, as he has planned this LACMA event for months, so I be leo prepped ahead of time to go :p

And well if filming is off for next week this might be happeneing........ :)

Cool thanks for the info Kat! Funny that just yesterday we find out he's following Adam now the next day we hear he's going to his party.. probably not a coincidence :p

So guess this is happening on Wednesday, so if he's going to LACMA/LA this weekend these two events shouldn't conflict with eachother :D

Kat

Tks for article regarding upcoming Maroon 5/Halloween night event :)

Even if Leo did attend LACMA event, I would be surprised to see him in L.A. still next week with him being in the midst of filming , but, as with LACMA, we'll just have to wait and see

^He might just stay in LA until the halloween party :D I don't know if its worth it to fly back to NY for just one day, he might just have a few days off of work. And yes, interesting leo follows adam, now knowing hes heading to his party! I knew there was a reason! :p

hope he'll attend LACMA :hehe: I want new pics

Danny A has a role in Wolf; he is in one of the Wolf set pix that was posted here weeks ago, so technically he was there, like Leo, as part of Wolf cast & crew :)

Amandine

Tks for pix of Leo with Kate ; yet another pix new to me :)

Wijn

Tks for JGL tweet :)

Somerhalder and More Join DiCaprio to Protect Antarctic Ocean

Last week we told you that Leonardo DiCaprio was backing an initiative to protect the Antarctic ocean. On a mission to gain 1 million signatures, a lofty goal, DiCaprio and the organization Avaaz are in the homestretch. Currently 992,915 people have signed!

The petition goes to the delegates of the Antarctic Commission and asks them for the following: “As concerned citizens from around the world, we call on you to act decisively to secure the precious habitat of whales and other ocean species when you meet in Hobart, Australia. We call for an ambitious deal that establishes the world’s largest network of marine protected areas in the Southern Ocean, starting with the Ross Sea and East Antarctica.”

DiCaprio isn’t alone in using his big voice for the important cause. A stampede of supporting celebrities have asked their fans and followers to sign the petition.

Ian Somerhalder wrote, “World leaders are mtg now to decide the fate of #Antarctica’s Ocean – tell them to protect it! http://bit.ly/R3Ih4X @Avaaz.” He continued, “Given that only 2% of the world’s oceans are protected, this is an amazing opportunity to protect the fragile ecosystem of Antarctica.”

Other celebrities to join the cause include Alicia Silverstone, Linkin Park, Richard Branson, Jonah Hill and Mark Ruffalo.

As anti-fracking advocate Mark Ruffalo (also known as the Hulk) put it, “Let’s build massive public pressure to defend the Antarctic ocean and create a marine sanctuary. Join me @Avaaz.”
