yay Liverpool win 2 - 0 against Wigan!!!

woot for DK!!!!

 Pennant is playing really well as well :o

OMG Man U is having some probs

They gave Chelsea a chance to make a fight out of the title and Chelsea fucked up  It's like Chelsea don't want to win the title or something

Indeed. All this team needs is a quality goalkeeper and a good ballwinner in midfield.

 Are there any GK targets? I hear Krul from Newcastle is something of a phenomenon. As for ballwinners: Mascherano or Sissoko? and Alonso to a lesser extent :ninja:

Actually, Manchester United has a pretty difficult shedule as well.

Away to Everton, which is never easy.

Then the Manchester derby, which is always a game on its own, regardless of how both clubs are doing otherwise.

Then the game at Stamford bridge.

And then, probably the title decider, a home game against West Ham, which has won four out of its last six games, and will be fighting to stay in the premiership.

And this somehow compares to Bolton, Arsenal, Manyoo and Everton? :cain: Tough, but nowhere close to being as tough as Chelsea's. I hope West Ham and Charlton stay up  Wigan and Sheffield can get relegated for all I care :morning:

Ronaldo wins young player award

Manchester United's Cristiano Ronaldo has completed the first half of an expected double triumph after being named PFA Young Player of the Year.

The 22-year-old Portugal winger is also favourite to be awarded the Player of the Year accolade by his fellow professionals later on Sunday.

He has recovered from the controversy of last summer's World Cup to help United battle for three trophies.

Cesc Fabregas of Arsenal was second and Tottenham's Aaron Lennon third.

It was expected  I woulbn't be surprised if he notched up the European awards as well to be honest. He's just been awesome this year and it's hard to find someone to match him. Ibra and Drogba possibly and Kaka is the current leading scorer in the Champions League, even if he is kind of off at the moment. Don't think anyone else will get a mention if they don't play for a top club

Also have to add:

PFA Premier League Team of the Year 2007:

Edwin van der Sar, Gary Neville, Nemanja Vidic, Rio Ferdinand, Patrice Evra (all Man Utd); Ryan Giggs, Paul Scholes, Cristiano Ronaldo (all Man Utd) and Steven Gerrard (Liverpool); Didier Drogba (Chelsea) and Dimitar Berbatov (Tottenham)

Almost all Man United. :p

and that team is missing Finnan, Carrick, Fabregas, Essien, and Arteta. Scratch Neville, Gerrard, Evra, van der Sar and Ferdinand and you'll be right. Just because the Mancs are playing well doesn't mean the individuals are <_<

These are voted for by their peers though. It might look skewed towards United but these are the players that other professional footballers find most impressive this season.

Essien has played three positions this season, scored the occasional humdinger, kept Chelsea ticking along. If not for his quality, then just for his influence he should be in that team. I guess this just further showcases that footballers don't have a lot going on upstairs.

What do players know about football :cain:  Seriously, Gerrard is in there by reputation alone. I've been watching the Liverpool games and anyone that says he should be in there should be shot. And Neville :anger: How come he never gets called for those blatantly obvious last-ditch fouls he makes? <_<

Totally agree! Essien for suuure :blueeyedbaby: He's been their second best central defender behind Carvalho, best midfielder (let's face it, Lamps and Ballack aren't setting the world on fire) and best right-back (though Diarra is good there as well (Y) Why are Chelsea's mids so good at being right-backs?)

That and the fact that the British rate British players much higher than the foreign players in the EPL.
