September 30, 200816 yr Ugh. It's only the third quarter (this is one loooong game) in the Ravens-Steelers match-up, but it might as well be over. As usual, the Ravens finally have something going for them -- 5 minutes ago it was looking like a blow-out -- and they gift-wrap the momentum and TDs for the other team with moronic penalties.
September 30, 200816 yr Penulties...the fumble touchdown (the fault of the offensive line) .... ...Some people still thought the Steelers were clearly the better team coming into the game, but you guys still proved you're probably on their level, so a division title is still possibly in your grasps. The Bengals look like a bad sitcom, they got rid of their running back, right? the line has gotten worse and the defense sucks as usual , the Browns have a quarterback controversy, right? and their defense sucks as usual. The Steelers rely heavily on the run, but after their backup running back went down, they now have 1 left on the roster (to match you guy's one quarterback ) . They also lost a linebacker and an offensive lineman whereas I think your runningbacks x-rays turned out positive (Y) . Ray was playing like a madman out there :| and overall, Flacco looked good for a rookie . He squeezed some passes in windows that most guys in the league not named (Peyton, Tom, Carson, Jay) can't do .
October 1, 200816 yr ^ I think the Ravens having a shot at the playoffs depends on Roethlisberger more than it does the actual Ravens team: he's got injuries to his throwing shoulder and hand and to his right knee, he's losing offensive starters by the game, and with the Giants and Cowboys and some other teams with great defenses still on the schedule (goddamn the NFL scheduling committee took no pity on the AFC North), it might be a matter of just a few games before he's sacked one too many times and gets sidelined. And if that happens, the Ravens might be able to scrape out a one- or two-game lead for the division. Honestly, with how hard the upcoming schedules for both teams are, I think the one that wins the division will be the only one with a winning record. But it's a shame that Flacco's pass to Derrick Mason in the endzone early on was ruled out-of-bounds and not challenged when he obviously had both feat in. That extra four points would have meant the win for us. <_< *prays Mason stays healthy for entire season*
October 1, 200816 yr Yeah, I agree guys . ...the NFL scheduling committee took no pity on the AFC North...Honestly, with how hard the upcoming schedules for both teams are, I think the one that wins the division will be the only one with a winning record.
October 2, 200816 yr ^ I'm not sure, but I think what I heard the other day was that the Steelers have signed another running back -- I'm guessing a vet that was cut by another team or something -- so we'll see how that goes. Hopefully horribly. In other news, T.O. is complaining about not getting enough action in the loss to the Redskins when like a solid third of all the plays were to him.
October 2, 200816 yr T.O. is childish and reminds me of this annoying guy at school ...but anyway...as much as I hate to say it...I think the media is actually desperate for a story on this one. The problem here is that the media has Romo, Wade and co afraid that if they don't throw to T.O. enough, he'll have an outburst, so they force the ball to him at random times almost like a checklist rather than when he's open. Wade (through Romo's helmet speaker): Oh no....Tony...haven't thrown to him in awhile...throw it on the next play..." Tony: They're double covering him. Are you sure? Wade: Just do it...or else he'll... :| .... Tony: Alright...
October 3, 200816 yr ^ But T.O.'s bitchiness is at least less laughable than "Ocho Cinco's" boasting. There's no guarantee Palmer will even play and Johnson is bragging about how big of a day he's going to have against the Cowboys. Yeah, right. It'll be the battle of the obnoxious wide receivers.
October 5, 200816 yr OMG, the Ravens did it AGAIN!!!!! THIS IS INSANE! *Flacco is getting cocky and trying to complete passes when he should be throwing it away*The defense is crumbling in the 4th quarter when we've had a lead the entire game*Matt Stover -- one of the greast kickers in NFL history -- can barely kick an extra point*And the refs are flagging us for penalties that NEVER HAPPENED, which gift-wraps the momentum for the other team!Alright... *takes calming breath* Someone please give me a team to root for for the rest of the season, because I'm so sick of the Ravens and this idiocy. Cowboys? Eagles? Hell, I'm about to become a Colts or Steelers fan, and just saying that is like high treason in Maryland.
October 5, 200816 yr  ... Surely you don't mean that ? Maybe you should give them one more game . Or maybe you should turn on them for awhile and then they might pick up . It seems to work that way at times .
October 6, 200816 yr Both Matts are unhappy about their football teams this week I watched parts of that Ten/Bal game. only cuz im a former Titans fan McNair and Eddie George were my faves but who cares about football, GO PHILLIES!!
