Oh lord @Lilja K Can't decide if I'm glad or sad that's not gonna happen ever 😅 Nick Cave Calls His ‘Gladiator II' Script A “Masterpiece" — Involved Time Portals, Christ and Vietnam War It’s been dubbed “The Strangest Sequel Never Made.” Before Ridley Scott set his template for “Gladiator II,” he had a whole other story in mind, one involving Russell Crowe’s Maximus coming back from the dead. "I know how to bring him back," Scott had told ME Movies in 2017. "I was having this talk with the studio — Whether it will happen I don’t know. Gladiator was 2000, so Russell’s changed a little bit. He’s doing something right now but I’m trying to get him back down here." Scott had hired musician Nick Cave to write the script, one which would have had Maximus using the "portal of a dying warrior" to come back from the dead. Cave’s script was written in and around 2006 and sat on the DreamWorks shelf for close to 10 years. Crowe was also onboard to return for the sequel, in fact he was the one who contacted Cave to write the script. The singer detailed his script, titled “Christ Killer,” on a recent WTF podcast episode: “(Crowe) rang me up and asked if I wanted to write ‘Gladiator 2,” he said. “For someone who had only written one film script, it was quite an ask. ‘Hey Russell, didn’t you die in ‘Gladiator 1′?’ ‘Yeah, you sort that out.’ So, he goes down to purgatory and is sent down by the gods, who are dying in heaven because there’s this one god, there’s this Christ character, down on Earth who is gaining popularity and so the many gods are dying so they send Gladiator back to kill Christ and his followers.” “I wanted to call it ‘Christ Killer’ and in the end you find out that the main guy was his son, so he has to kill his son and he was tricked by the gods. He becomes this eternal warrior, and it ends with this 20-minute war scene which follows all the wars in history, right up to Vietnam and all that sort of stuff and it was wild. It was a stone cold masterpiece. I enjoyed writing it very much because I knew on every level that it was never going to get made. Let’s call it a popcorn dropper.” That’s right, In Nick Cave’s hands, “Gladiator II” would have involved a Christ-like man-god who “goes down to purgatory and is sent back by the gods”. According to Cave, the project came to halt after Crowe read the script, he reacted with a simple, “Don’t like it, mate.” If you’re more curious about “Gladiator II: Christ Killer,” it has been made available to read online. Even if the script had been greenlit this decade, Crowe would have needed to embark on a major physical transformation as he is currently, most definitely, not in the kind of shape he was 25 years ago.

Netflix Has Made an Offer to Acquire Kevin Costner's ‘Horizon' So, this is what I’ve heard. After Amazon failed in nabbing Kevin Costner’s “Horizon,” Netflix had now also made and offer to acquire the film. The streaming giant would partially help in funding chapters 3 and 4, but most of the budget would still be financed by outside parties. The plan would be to release each chapter, months apart, on Netflix, with potential plans to eventually, if Costner agrees, turn it into an episodic mini-series. No word yet on whether Costner is interested, but that’s the offer as it stands. No details on how much Netflix has coined up for Costner in the deal. I wouldn’t be surprised if Costner refused the offer due to two reasons: 1) The streamer very likely didn’t put enough money on the table to cover Costner’s costs and 1) they have no interest in releasing these movies in theaters. It’s no secret that Netflix has been trying to get their own version of “Yellowstone” going. Of course, “Horizon” isn’t the answer, but it would definitely bring some of that audience to the platform. Costner has already partnered with Netflix on their original movie “The Highwaymen.” In recent years, he’s also had quite a few of his older movies top the Netflix charts, including “Let Him Go,” “Draft Day” and “Mr. Brooks.”

I wondered if it's been such a massive hit without set in the QUIET PLACE universe. Ironically that part is actually the weakest thing of the movie.

In case someone wondered/worried about Leos feelings here LOL What Leonardo DiCaprio really thinks of girlfriend Vittoria Ceretti's passionate clinch with Theo James - as model is pictured enjoying MORE steamy kisses (posting those visuals just for science 😇🥵)- Shannen Doherty
- Watching right now
Great show so thrilling, stirring and disturbing Lily and Riley are great like expected and so are many of the "side" characters including the young victim Reena played by Vritika Gupta (who's also a Leo fan in the show at some point she wants to be adopted by him it's set mainly in the 90s) @Lilja K @akatosh- Upcoming Movie News
It's "only" a tv adaption so it didn't really count as "movie" to me 😇😄 I watched (the only black Heathcliff who pretty much was black in the OG book) (Tom Hardy is many things but he's not Heathcliff also this wig? give me a break LOL it's also the least accurate apadation of the book) (I can't believe how medicore this movie is despite those great 2 main actors ) (I remember lots of snow instead of the famous moorland in the book)- Leonardo DiCaprio (GENERAL DISCUSSION)

I swear this whole drama behind those movies seems much more entertaining than the movies itself to me 😅 @Lilja K @Cult Icon Kevin Costner Rejected Amazon/MGM Offer to Acquire ‘Horizon' Yesterday’s news that Kevin Costner’s “Horizon: An American Saga: Chapter 2” had its August release date delayed indefinitely didn’t come as much of a surprise. The real question everyone seems to be asking now is, what’s next? Will it ever see theaters? How about ‘Horizon 3,’ which has already shot nine days’ worth of footage and is set to restart production in August — will Costner be able to finish it? Puck’s Matt Belloni is reporting that before Warner Bros. and Costner decided to delay Chapter 2’s Aug. 16 release, Amazon/MGM Studios inquired about taking the film off Warners’ plate for streaming. Talks were had, but the Amazon offer “was just too low to seriously consider”, and Costner/WB instead pulled the plug on theaters. Streaming is how I envisioned Horizon’s future to be. Maybe it won’t be with Amazon, but Netflix or even Apple could potentially pick it up and turn it into some kind of 4-movie event. How about Paramount+ which is where Costner’s career was rejuvenated with “Yellowstone” — that would be a fitting home for ‘Horizon.’ Costner surely stands to lose money in the process, but at least his films would get made and seen by a wider audience. Hell, maybe even Warners’ streaming service Max could just premiere the next three chapters. It’s really sad to say, but Costner’s hopes to turn ‘Horizon’ into a theatrical movie event have failed. I just can’t image all four of these films hitting theaters. There is a chance that they get made, Costner’s mysterious backers seem to be helping out a lot, but forget about theaters for chapters 3 and 4. Streaming is the best and, possibly, only option to turn this franchise into a viable endeavor for all parties involved.- Upcoming Movie News
This could be interesting. So far there isn't a really decent movie adaption imo @Lilja K Emerald Fennell's Next Film is ‘Wuthering Heights’ Adaptation Emerald Fennell has announced that her next film will be an adaptation of Emily Brontë’s classic novel “Wuthering Heights.” She didn’t reveal whether it would be a modern-day adaptation, but that could technically be a possibility. I’m inclined to believe she’ll remain faithful to the book’s time period. The source material does go well with what Fennell has so far tackled in her first two films (“Young Promising Woman" and “Saltburn”) — mental and physical cruelty, revenge, abuse, and the class system. She could it into a very dark direction, one by which we haven’t seen yet in the other movie adaptations. One of the most tormented love stories ever written, “Wuthering Heights” tackles troubled orphan, and antihero, Heathcliff and his doomed love for Catherine Earnshaw. The ensuing ramification of his unhealthy affection for Catherine sets up a tale of revenge and social climbing. There have been four movie adaptations of Brontë’s novel, released in 1939, 1970, 1992 and 2011. I liked the 1970 version, starring Timothy Dalton, but there’s always room for improvement as I don’t believe there’s been a definitive take on the source material. Not even Andrea Arnold could muster up a great film out of it. Maybe Fennell will finally “crack the code” in that regard.- The "What Are You Thinking About Right Now?" PIP
What's happening in the US right now? People are already accusing the chinese for this 2 👇🤣 Disney Allegedly Hacked — 1TB of Data Stolen- Last movie you saw...
@Lilja K I also think THE QUIET PLACE DAY 1 was the "weakest" of all 3 parts but more in connection with the 2 other movies than as a stand alone piece. It lacked a bit of new ideas when it comes to the horror/alien elements aka it didn't really do anything for the other 2 movies or the universum it's set in imo. It's still very much worth the watch. I loved Joseph Quinn and Lupita Nyong’o together They're dynamic is really sweet, heartbreaking and sometimes even funny. This picture explained pretty much everything. Love them This dude is also my hero 🥰 What I liked most about the movie that despite it's placed in this huge city NYC it's actually a very intimate journey of two strangers meeting in a horrible life threating event building such a strong life affirming bond. And there is Frodo (the cat) the little matchmaker 💘- Leonardo DiCaprio - (Please Read First Post Prior to Posting)
I actually thought he looks super hot and was wondering where's this picture from Fully bearded Leo is one of my faves look (but I like bearded men in general and when I say bearded I mean the full dirty hairy viking look 😚 🥰). Speaking of it still not over the missed Leo as viking movie opportunity 😭- Austin Butler
^She's underrated. Love her since A Cinderella Story. Judge me 😄- Harriet Herbig-Matten
