  1. Ah yes the good old times 😊 Never really was into any of those movies before or after disney honestly. But I admit Jackman kinda owns the Wolverine character aka was always the standout here.
  2. Uhm? Here’s what Disney owns after the massive Disney/Fox merger
  3. I'm not contradicting 🤣 ... but one of the reasons could be that apple is -I think the only- service that just offers originals and new stuff so the selection is kinda limited what's not a bad thing but people tend to watch what they already know lol A friend of mine for example always tells me after a shitty and/or hard day at work she doesn't have the energy to watch anything ambitious/challenging. She just wants to come home and relax on her couch. I think that's the main goal of most people. And I can relate to that. Sometimes I'm just like that too 😅
  4. I actually liked the first movie. The 2nd part was already meaningless and repeatable. But it's decided I skip this movie for "overgrown, infantilized man-children" and watch Costners Horizon instead 😄
  5. It's so good @Lilja K

Me neither but I'm always in for a good double role. Curious how he will handle it.
  7. LMAO @Lilja K ‘Deadpool & Wolverine' is A Soulless and Pointless MCU Cash Grab [Review] Here’s a movie that represents everything that’s wrong about the modern blockbuster. It’s soulless and juvenile fan service and has no reason to exist other than to adhere to the nostalgic infantilism that’s ravaged our culture. I’m not even blaming audiences for taking the bait, they’ve just been programmed to gush over product like “Deadpool & Wolverine.” As the titular foul-mouthed “hero,” Ryan Reynolds acts and jokes like he’s 13 years old. The tongue-in-cheek humor here is to be expected, filled with f-bombs, and although there are few unfunny jabs at Marvel and Kevin Feige, the whole movie plays like a 2-hour parade of endless dick jokes. Also, don’t be fooled by the fact that it’s the first MCU movie to be R-rated, which, to many, signifies that it’s edgy. There’s nothing edgy about a movie that feels like the celebration of corporate greed. Maybe it was a bad idea to hire director Shawn Levy to helm this latest ‘Deadpool’ instalment — he brings nothing new to the table. Levy is a hired hand; he barely directs as much as just lets his Marvel overlords do the work for him. “Deadpool & Wolverine” is very similarly shot to the first movies but in a more flavorless fashion. It feels untouched by human hands. I wouldn’t be surprised if artificial intelligence was used to dictate the shot selection. As a visually driven filmmaker, Levy’s style is dull and uninspired — he over-directs the action, to the point where nothing feels effortlessly conceived, and everything turns out slick and flat. There’s a constant repetition to the way he directs the movie, almost as if we were watching a video game. The plot, if you want to call it that, revolves around Wade Wilson, alter ego to Deadpool, living a sad sack life as a car dealer, only to have his world turned upside down by a representative of the Time Variance Authority, played Matthew Macfadyen. Deadpool is tasked to track some older version of Wolverine, otherwise the world around him will collapse. It turns out Wolverine (Hugh Jackman) is now a bar-stool drunkard, and after much convincing, the duo hits the road, skipping through multiverses, gruesomely slaughtering villainous figures to save the planet, all strenuously set to cheesy pop hits. The main villain of the movie is Cassandra Nova (Emma Corrin), the twin sister of Charles Xavier (aka Professor X). In a way, Corrin is the only true bright spot in the film, maybe because she doesn’t utter a single joke, she plays it straight and villainous. Amidst all of the cheap jokes and gory violence, Jackman feels out of place here — the banter is never quite as clever, let alone as funny, as it thinks it is. Comic timing isn’t Jackman’s forte, especially when that goofball Reynolds keeps interrupting him at every second. This is a movie that tries too hard to be clever. A self-congratulatory parade of mediocrity. Also, what’s the point in having Deadpool and Wolverine constantly stabbed and shot, hundreds of times, all throughout the movie if they just regenerate and quickly heal from these wounds? The stakes are nonexistent. It all just leaves you numb and uninterested. However, the raison d’etre for “Deadpool & Wolverine” seems to be the nostalgic celeb cameos. A slew of well-known actors show up, and based on the reactions of the guy sitting next to me, orgiastic reactions are to be expected at weekend screenings. These cameos are such golden nuggets to fans that critics have been told not to reveal a thing about them in their reviews. No bad reviews will deter this movie from grossing $1 billion worldwide. It’s critic proof. It doesn’t matter that there’s absolutely no substance on display, nor will it be an issue that the editing is fit to please the mind of a skittish teenager. No, what matters are the cameos. And there are lots and lots of cameos in “Deadpool & Wolverine.” [D]

Trey Edward Shults & The Weeknd's $20M Film Can't Find A Buyer A report from THR describes the bitter rivalry between “Euphoria” creator Sam Levinson and his star Zendaya. Quite honestly, I’m not sure if the third season will happen, even with a set January 2025 production start. Zendaya and Levinson have had a strained partnership after Levinson turned all his attention to his failed HBO series “The Idol” and delayed submitting any scripts for “Euphoria” Season 3. Meanwhile, a source close to Levinson blames Zendaya instead for focusing on her movie career — “It was all about her.” Caught up in the middle of this drama is actor-musician The Weeknd who partnered with Levinson on “The Idol.” Hidden deep inside THR’s report is how The Weeknd’s upcoming “Misery” remake, directed by trey Edward Shults (“Krisha”), cannot find a buyer. It’s been sitting in post-production for well over a year now with “no one biting.” Last year, it was reported that Shults’ film would be written by himself and Abel Tesfaye aka The Weeknd. Tesfaye would lead a cast that includes Jenna Ortega and Barry Keoghan. The film has since completed production. Last year, I reported a rumor that Shults’ film could be a loose remake of Rob Reiner’s 1990 film, “Misery.” The Weeknd is said to play himself, a famous singer, and Ortega plays his deranged fan/stalker. Adding to the rumors, Ortega recently posted a shot of the house used during production, and it looked very similar to the one in “Misery.” The still-untitled film is said to be inspired by an infamous, real-life incident that occurred to The Weeknd in 2015, when he lost his voice during a concert in Los Angeles — he managed to get through four songs before he had to cut the show short. Plot details on Shults’ film will remain unofficial for now, obviously no release date has been announced, and, apparently, no studio is “biting” on the prospect of purchasing this film. @Lilja K
  11. I know the reviews weren't that great but I very much enjoyed this take of the King Arthur saga from the perspective of Nimue (Langford). I also loved her aussie crime show (so underrated) Sometimes you just have to look beside the common Hollywood box.
  12. He did?
  13. I have to watch Despicable Me 4 with my little niece tomorrow so I had some homework 😅 I never really was into pixar movies I have to admit (not even as a kid). I don't really get the humor and the strange looking characters. Maybe it's different when you watch those movies with a enthusiastic crowd. I'm kinda curious for this cinema experience. I think the only other pixar I ever watched in cinema was "Ratatouille". Quite liked it on the big screen. Wasn't the same when I re watched at home.
  14. I loved that movie. So good. Probably my fave of the whole franchise. This one wasn't bad but it had some real pace issues aka it was too long imo. It's on my watchlist for years. Tried to watch it, skipped it after an hour or so 🤣 Not sure if I watched this particular cut but I watched one of them and liked it at least much more than Star Wars 😄
  15. I should stop watching movies from the 70s 🤣 @Lilja K I liked the first half of the movie (good pace, thrilling, great disturbing atmosphere + silly white people doing silly things and then getting killed for their ignorance LOL) but this 2nd half with these hilariously 3 dumb white men on that ship thinking they were big tough heros talking nothing but irritating dumbass nonsense while doing even worse things to kill that poor animal truly I just started to root for the shark to kill them all at one point and I'm not sorry
  16. Another upcoming interesting western imo @Lilja K
  17. Out of solidarity with Costner and his dedication + giving not only his soul and heart but money for this project I probably should also watch it in cinema
  18. Let's start the Josh train shall we? (he remains one of my biggest 00s crushes next to Heath Ledger, Colin Farrell and Hayden Christensen 💘) o1. Lucky Number Slevin (probably my favorite movie of him. So thrilling, clever and funny with lots and lots of twists. bonus his great chemistry with Lucy Liu ) o2. Mozart & the Whale (without a doubt one of Joshs best perfomances ever. A lovely and heartwarming "outsider" story. his lovely love interest Radha Mitchell is also awesome ❤️‍🩹) o3. Penny Dreadful (great show what more can I say plus Josh passionately kissing lots of hot people is never a bad thing ever 💋) o4. Black Hawk Down (intense movie that made me sweat and starting a prayer circle for his character not to die lol another great quite intense performance of Josh. also can't help but the "soldier" look is pretty hot ) o5. 30 Days of Night (omg I really like this movie. great atmosphere and those freakin scary vampires? hell yeah. I also REALLY like Joshs character "the protector" giving his damn best here. It's also quite the family drama. it's a horror/splatter movie with depth I claim) o6. Wicker Park (another "twisty" movie. It's actually more like a puzzle and in the end everything is making proper sense. It's a really great film noir. also the chemistry between Josh and Diane Kruger? give me a break ) o7. 40 Days and 40 Nights (back then I LOVED this little naughty movie. Josh was just having the most interesting leading ladies. I was OBSESSED with Shannyn Sossamon and wanted to look like her so badly. together they made me nuts. also this flower scene? Hottest sex scene with zero sex I've ever seen ) o8. Pearl Harbor (what can I say? This movie is a guilty pleasure mainly for the eye candy Josh Hartnett is 😍😍😍 How Evelyn had one look for dumb Rafe when sensitive dreamy tender thoughtful gorgeous beautiful handsome cute Danny was right there IS BEYOND ME. And then she finally came to her senses and he had to die ARE YOU FUCKIN KIDDING ME HOLLYWOOD????!!! they knew of course it wouldn't had hurt half as bad when they killed Rafe 🤣) o9. Oppenheimer (loved him in this movie whenever he appeard on my screen I cared for nothing else. That's the star power of Josh imo oh you gorgeous tall man. also his hair never looked better. plus his character was the most likeable if I remember proper and not only through my distracting Josh glasses 💘) 1o. The Faculty (quite unsure about the hair but this movie + his role is kinda 90s iconic. drugs probably never looked better also love him for playin the dirty rebel with so much fun 🥰) 11. The Virgin Suicides (speaking of hair whoever decided to put that thing on his head should've have been fired but I love him and Kirsten and their overall softness ❤️ It's actually a sad story of course like the doomed title predicts and very Sofia Coppola) 12. Black Dahlia (another film noir of Josh. I even watched the movie in cinema back then. It's Josh and Scarlett Johansson making out so aesthetically it's already a 10 ) 13. The Ottoman Lieutenant (It's always hard for me to understand how the girl is NOT choosing him 😅 He's just so charismatic, handsome and TALL it's kinda impossible to not "feel" his amount of presence (literally). If he declared his love for me I would fell into his arms and stayed there forever with a happy stupid grin ) 14. O (Othello) (back then I wasn't really into this movie nor the story or the modern take on the Shakespeare play. I also have to admit I never really was a big fan of Mekhi Phifer who's playing the titular character. I think evil Josh was the best thing here even though I had to re watch it to give a more proper review. Julia Stiles is one of my late 90s icons 🤩) 15. Halloween H20 (pure nostalgic. Josh in all his tallness + bad haircut glory in his first role ever with baby face Michelle Williams and Jamie Lee Curtis by his side. His debut could've been much worse 🎃) movies I watched but didn't like or barely remember The Champ Sin City Here On Earth Hollywood Cops movies/tv shows on my watchlist: TRAP (still in awe we're gettin another chance of a Josh movie in cinema after so many years OPPIE not counting ) The Bear season 3 Operation Fortune Cash Truck (can't believe I have to watch 2!! Jason Statham movies because of Josh) The Fear Index I Come With The Rain
