New England Patriots WHY THEY'LL ADVANCE: Two reasons: quarterback Tom Brady and coach Bill Belichick. This dynamic duo keyed their Super Bowl runs in the 2001, `03 and `04 seasons. Brady didn't throw an interception in his last 135 regular-season passes, and he has the NFL's lowest all-time playoff interception mark (five in 367 passes). A perennially stingy and bewildering defense has allowed the sixth-fewest yards and is led by Richard Seymour, Tedy Bruschi, Mike Vrabel and Ty Warren, the AFC's defensive player of the month in December. WHAT WILL STOP THEM: Brady is 10-1 in the playoffs, but this will be uncharted territory for his relatively unknown receiving corps. The Patriots will miss safety Rodney Harrison (knee) on run defense, and they'll have to rely on rookie kicker Stephen Gostkowski instead of Adam Vinatieri, whose field goals provided the difference in their Super Bowl wins. -
