It looks like a quick shoot, like they may not have had a lot of time. I mean, I don't know, I wasn't there, but I got caught like that once. The celeb was more than an hour late and her publicist cut my time to 10 minutes. For an interview and a photoshoot. 10 minutes. And I've been standing there at the door of her trailer, waiting and waiting. And all my photo gear is packed for transit, everything still in bags, because I have no idea where we're going to shoot and talk. So now my hour is down to 10 minutes, and I have to find an interesting and safe location to shoot, no people walking through the set, no clearance issues, then unpack, setup, shoot, then get an entertaining interview. In 10 minutes. All I had time for was a couple of quick shots, basically candids. Forget elaborate lighting. No time. She did give me a couple of extra minutes on the interview, but that was it and she just had to go. I was disappointed with what I got, but it's all I had time for. The celebs can have crazy schedules, especially if they're shooting or supporting a movie, and it happens.

My recollection is these are from Sports Illustrated. She's in two issues of the magazine, 15 Feb 1988 (Pearls of the Orient) and 14 Mar 1988 (Letters). So my guess would be, Marc Hispard shot these in 1987 for publication in 1988. Where did you find these by the way???
  4. Oh that's interesting. That appears to be from a review of 1993 calendars. Susan's shot is from the '93 Elite Rising Stars calendar (May). Believe '93 is the only year Stephanie did her own calendar.

Hi. It's from the SoftKey Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Calendar and Screen Saver 1995. It's one of the image files on the CD-ROM. source info ooops, meant to add: they show up from time to time on eBay, sometimes on Amazon. They're fun. The one they did the preceding year, with Judit Masco on the cover, had pre-printed pages in the package, which was nice. Then SoftKey stopped doing that. The subsequent year, 1996 with Rebecca on the cover, has (I think?) 9 short movie files with Stacey shooting on location.

Hi. Yes you are right, one of the captions is wrong. This is the October 5-11 page with caption, "Ingrid Seynhaeve At Cape Peninsula" and "Photo By Marco Glaviano". This is the June 1-7 page and, yes, the caption is incorrect. The printed caption is "Valeria Mazza At Cape Peninsula" and "Photo By Marco Glaviano". It's actually Ingrid. as a visual ID Glaviano and Valeria Mazza did not have a shoot together for SI. For SI, it's Valeria with photographer Walter Iooss Jr. In the '97 SI desk calendar, there are no other photos of Valeria at Cape Peninsula. She's at different locations with photographer Walter Iooss Jr. But Ingrid and Rebecca Romijn are at Cape Penninsula with Marco Glaviano. We think the location and photographer are correct in the caption, but it's actually Ingrid not Valeria. But please let us know if we've made a mistake! source and credit info Valeria Mazza in SI.

Yes, agree. Certainly for that pub. As a modern photo, I expect they'd clone out the guy in the background.

^ the bw 1990 is ph Elgort. Do you know where that one is from? It's actually a crop, there's a whole right-side with a house in the rest of the photo, and you can see she's peeking out of a car's sunroof. It's a two-pager in Models Manual . (Thx for the date. Never had an exact date on that photo, it's undated in MM.)
  16. Oh that's really interesting. That's ph by Marc Hispard, of course. SI ran a different version in the '89 magazine, then that one in the '90 wall and desk calendars. It's one of my favorite photographs. But I can't recall ever seeing it outside of SI. So interesting to see it as a cover. And they flipped (horizontally) it too.

Thanks so much for the link. His Instagram is similar content to his book Beauty Flash. Really good, it's fun. (and his book is so expensive!)

  19. ^ if you're building a collection of Elle, don't forget the Elle Top Model issues. They would republish (some of) the same content and I believe combine it with some additional stuff that didn't make the regular issue. The first issue (maybe the first couple of issues?) with the Claudia cover is oversized, like W, then they go down to the smaller traditional size. Stephanie's cover is #11 in the series I believe. http://www.magnifonline.net/product/5569 http://www.dutchvintagemagazines.nl/a-23622485/elle-topmodel/9611-elle-topmodel-1996-nr-11/

Yes, welcome! I think one of the models they tag as Niki in that gallery might be Judit Masco. http://www.pinterest.com/pin/237705686557422334/ What do you think?
