  1. Hunter Reno's current portfolio was posted by Iconic Focus agency in November 2017: https://iconicfocus.com/portfolio/hunter-reno/
  2. Cindy Crawford has completed the filming of an ad that re-creates her iconic 1992 Pepsi ad of 26 years ago. This time, the ad will include her 18-year old son, Presley Walker Gerber. The ad will debut during Super Bowl LII on February 4. https://www.usatoday.com/story/life/tv/2018/01/11/cindy-crawford-recreates-iconic-super-bowl-ad-26-years-later/1023577001/
  3. And of course, still is so lovely. Note that her Iconic Focus modelling portfolio can be downloaded as a pdf. https://iconicfocus.com/portfolio/vendela/

  6. Thanks, I hadn't known of Iconic Focus agency before. If you click on the model webpage's "Portfolio" link, their photos can be downloaded as a pdf. (Frederique is still stunning in all 34 pages, of course) http://iconicfocus.com/portfolio/frederique-van-der-wal/ Another thing I like about the agency's website is that they provide the model's current measurements, not those taken thirty years ago.
  7. Thanks, I hadn't known of Iconic Focus agency before. So great to see our favorite models and actresses from the 1960s, 1970s, 1980s, and 1990s with still-stunning faces and figures! I noticed ageless Peggy Lipton in their "Special Bookings" section, and I saw her in this year's "A Dog's Purpose" (as the senior Hannah), and looked up that in real-life she's eight years older than co-star Dennis Quaid.
  8. While I'm not in the fashion industry, I can say that I recall that when the "Ford Models Supermodel of the Year" aired on TV, in the first six years I successfully picked the winner three times right off the "Introduction" segment: 1981: Annette Stai 1982: Renee Simonsen 1986: Monika Schnarre Their beauty and "It" factor just jumped right off the screen at me.
  9. I'm reminded of my favorite Harlem Globetrotters routine: The timeless "Water" bucket skit. You remember: The referee chases the "Showman" backstage, but after a second both will come running out, with the Showman now chasing the referee with a brand new bucket. The other Trotter sees this and flees once more, this time running up into the audience. Once the Showman has caught up with him, he will duck and the Showman will throw what seems to be another bucket of water into the audience (usually a young kid in the 1st row).Only this time it isn't water, but rather it is confetti.
  10. Niki Taylor, 42, posing in a red swimsuit along with Ashley Graham and Teyana Taylor for a "Baywatch" lifeguards themed photoshoot for Yahoo Style (May 18, 2017): https://www.yahoo.com/style/supermodel-niki-taylor-hasnt-swimsuit-since-90s-now-164449213.html
  11. One of my "peeves" as one who grew up with the 1970s - 1980s SI issues is that the 1980s issues truly featured the industry's top SUPERmodels. With the exception of Hillary Safire, there's no question that Paulina Porizkova, Cheryl Tiegs, Carol Alt, Kelly Emberg, and Kim Alexis were among the "Top 10" of 1983, or that Elle MacPherson, Stephanie Seymour, Estelle Lefebure, Cindy Crawford, Renee Simonsen, and Kathy Ireland were among the top dozen models of 1988. Even though the SI Swimsuit issue still carries substantial clout to enable it to inquire about virtually any model in the industry, it seems to have gotten away from casting only the most elite models.
  12. Another reason given by the industry is that all other things being equal, it's easier to see a very tall woman than one of average height. E.g., if you're not one of the persons favored with a seat in the first two rows but instead are in a "Bob Uecker" bleacher seat, it's easier to see a 5'11" woman on the runway than it is seeing a 5'7" woman.
  13. Excerpt from CNN Financial News' Feb 23, 2017 article "Fallen Angels? Victoria's Secret Sales Plunge" (http://money.cnn.com/2017/02/23/investing/victorias-secret-l-brands-sales/index.html ) L Brands, which also owns Bath & Body Works and PINK, said late Wednesday that same-store sales at Victoria's Secret may plunge 20% this month compared to a year ago. Part of this big decline is due to the fact that Victoria's Secret killed off its swimwear line last May. It also got rid of its famous catalog in an attempt to save costs. But L Brands said that the lack of swimwear contributed to just 6 percentage points of the overall drop this month. So it's clear that Victoria's Secret has bigger problems than the absence of bikinis in its stores. Shares of L Brands (LB) plunged 16% on the news Thursday, making it the worst performer in the Standard & Poor 500. The stock is now down more than 25% so far this year and more than 40% over the past 12 months..
  14. I agree, her hair and makeup were right on the mark for the Farrah Fawcett (RIP) tribute. She certainly reminded me of Farrah for the Mexican rocks, tree, market(?), and beach shots as well. Hope that the best of these photos make it into the printed magazine, rather than just being outtakes.
  15. I wish her eyes weren't closed in that photo. But I'm hoping there will be outtakes photos that will be released later.
  16. From "Rocky I" (1976): Mickey: "Women weaken legs!"
  17. Paraphrasing one of my favorite Cindy Crawford quotes of about a dozen years ago: "...of course, we'd look like trucks next to them." For fun, I looked up up a few Zed cards listed in the 1988 Elite modelling agency book: The first two VS supermodel hires' Dress size. Jill Goodacre: Size 8. Frederique: Size 8. VS Angels in the 1990s: Stephanie Seymour: Size 6-8. Karen Mulder: Size 6-7. Cindy Crawford was listed as Size 6-7.
  18. I'd like to see Cheryl Tiegs or Kathy Ireland being among the first two. If it wasn't for Cheryl Tiegs' multiple covers plus the media-impact of her 1978 Fishnet suit, SI probably wouldn't have gone to an all-supermodels format (starting around 1980) for many years.
  19. I'm hoping that SI publishes a "Swimsuit Extra" newsstand magazine (as they did in Oct 2014; and 2011 plus earlier years) featuring un-published photos in a slightly-larger 8.5" x 11" magazine with higher-quality paper that includes the more-revealing online pics that SI declined to publish in the mass-circulation issue.
  20. I thought her hair and makeup were spot-on given the Malta location -- playing up her "Classic beauty" look. It reminded me of the classic Greek and Mediterranean beauties cast as Helen of Troy and other sword-and-sandal classics.
  21. In April 2003, I took the guided tour of the SS American Victory, a World War II military cargo ship built in 1945 (berthed at Tampa, Florida).
