  1. Other notable "Vintage" fashion model siblings that come to my mind: Frankie Rayder and Missy Rayder Denise Hopkins and Tammy Hopkins Tricia Barnstable and identical twin Cyb Barnstable (aka, the Doublemint Gum twins).
  2. Denise Hopkins, who also had "Cosmopolitan" covers. She has a Models thread, courtesy of RocketQueen... https://www.bellazon.com/main/topic/89823-denise-hopkins/?tab=comments#comment-5224677
  3. As a student of history, I wonder if it is known when & why "Fashion models identifying by only their First name" became a popular thing, and why it still continues? A) Vanity/Hubris? I.e., I am so established, I need to only use my First name? Well, it's one thing if one truly is internationally famous plus have a unique name, such as Veruschka (von Lehndorff), Twiggy, (Lesley Lawson), and Doutzen (Kroes), but for common names as "Alexandra", "Naomi", "Adrianne" I don't see the point. B) By contrast, actresses always go by their First and Last names, even if they are internationally famous plus have a unique First name (e.g., Salma Hayek, Alyson Hannigan, Demi Moore, Paz Vega, etc.). I'll note that Terry Farrell was usually credited as "Farrell" when she modelled, but when she switched to acting she was always listed in the credits as "Terry Farrell".
  4. #1 (Lancel Paris ad): Looks like model-actress Jayne Modean (Ford Models).
  5. Yes, I think this is Lisa Ryall.
  6. It could be Lisa Ryall, given the 1980-date and the hair. But I can't ID the model with both of her eyes closed... 😞
  7. The blonde in the spoiler image is Lynne Austin (Playboy Playmate-of-the Month, July 1986) who is different than the Bourjois model.
  8. I think Susan Smith appeared in Cosmopolitan (USA) issues circa 1977 - 1978.
  9. Joan Bennett is probably best known as Playboy (USA) Playmate-of-the-Month (January 1985).
  10. Model-actress Cindy Harrell. https://www.imdb.com/name/nm0364082/?ref_=nv_sr_srsg_0
  11. Link to CNN - Business June 24, 2021 lengthy article "Victoria's Secret 'Sexy for All' Strategy Boosts Sales and Shares", which is a good business read (I have an MBA). https://www.cnn.com/2021/06/24/business/victorias-secret-turnaround/index.html Sales and profits at Victoria's Secret are growing. VS profit margins are up ten percentage points during the three months ended May 1st this year compared with the same period in 2019. The brand is also navigating the shift to online shopping. In 2018, digital sales made up 24% of Victoria's Secret's revenue. Now, they make up 44%. (OK, I'm inferring good progress by Victoria's Secret and L Brands on their business turnaround management, even though I was a fan of the "old VS playbook" described in the article as "Push-up bras and scantily-clad celebrity models") 🙂
  12. I think Girl #3 (Redhead) and in the Leica 1986 is Susan Smith (I know, bad name for a Model ID) of Ford Models.
  13. Definitely NOT Cristina Ferrare.
  14. Karen Bjornson.
  15. #2 & (Possibly #15 as well): Donna Sexton.
  16. From Left to Right: Lauren Hutton, Cristina Ferrare, Cheryl Tiegs, and Christie Brinkley.
  17. 1st one on Left is Micaela Sundholm.
  18. Dayrell: She reminds me of Ann-Charlotte, who was on several Cosmopolitan (USA) covers around 1973 - 1976.
  19. Yes, I think it is Staci Leigh as well. (Note that she spelled her First name as "Staci"). https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Staci_Leigh.jpg
  20. Model-actress Deprise Brescia.
  21. I'm thinking Joan Gocha of Ford Models.
  22. Last one #20 looks like Pam Suthern.
  23. Isn't the redhead on the Depeche Mode cover #11 (Fevrier 1990) none other than Maria von Hartz (RocketQueen's avatar)?
  24. Frederique van der Wal was Victoria's Secret second "top model" signing (Jill Goodacre was the first, and Stephanie Seymour was the third). To me, Frederique was one of the most-puzzling omission from Sports Illustrated swimsuit issues. She certainly had one of the 1980s most-notable (naturally-voluptuous) swimsuit figures, and VS had not yet added swimsuits to their product line.
  25. #3: Definitely Shelley Smith. #4 (Right page): Looks like Lauren Hutton. #5 (Left): Donna Sexton.
