Ukraine launched what might be their biggest counterattack of the war so far. Rumors is that the Kherson assault force is approx. 12,000 strong. August 29-30. So far it is appears to have costed them heavy losses but with some small (currently unconfirmed) gains on the outskirts of Kherson Oblast. It will likely continue tomorrow. There are Ukrainian forces massing at Izyum and at Kharkiv (Northern front), likely to be used as well. There is footage of Ukrainian infantry and tanks advancing through open fields, or hedgerows and getting struck by Russian artillery and airstrikes. The artillery strikes on individual tanks and infantry groups are precise and appear to be guided rounds or fire from helicopter gunships and aircraft. This is more of the usual, where infantry and tanks are vulnerable to artillery in modern war. The Russian military claimed this on 8/30. the 1200 claimed Ukrainian human losses for the day is the highest the Russian MOD has ever claimed from what I've seen. : The effective actions of the Russian group of troops destroyed 48 tanks, 46 infantry fighting vehicles, 37 other armored fighting vehicles, 8 pickups with large-caliber machine guns and more than 1200 Ukrainian servicemen during the day. ◽️ When repelling the enemy offensive, Russian troops defeated the units of the 128th Separate Mountain Assault Brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine transferred from western Ukraine to participate in the operation. Five members of the brigade laid down their arms and surrendered.

I worked out the order of battle (open source) in the Donbass and these are my notes. 8/14. The fighting has been conducted mainly by Ukrainian separatists vs the Ukrainian army. 3rd Army Corps is likely to be inserted on the Southern half of the salient: 6 Separatist tank companies 7 Mechanized infantry brigades 9 Mechanized infantry regiments/battalions 2 Mechanized infantry companies 6 motorized companies plus Approx. a dozen plus (unknown) Russian military combat battalions at the front w/ 3-4 in the rear are facing: 22 Ukrainian brigades, 2 regiments, 4 battalions, 7 companies Some rumors that this unit is not a "BTG" but a large "O" division. I suspect that the Russians will continuing painting the Southern side of the salient red with artillery and airstrikes, then use this big unit to mop up positions.

There are some rumors that they are old and there are a fat signing bonus. It is probably more like "all age groups". I think they will be a significant factor despite the media's claims. South of the Donbass arc the Russians have created many penetrations in the line. The 1st and 2nd Army Corps are similar to this unit. (2nd Rate) The Ukrainian army in the Donbass is in horrific shape.

^ haha. Some breaking news recently. Russia has raised a "Third Army Corps" to be sent to the Donbass. This formation appears to be 2nd rate in training but with good weapons (T-80, T-90, AK-12, body armor 6B45 series, BMP-3, Buk Air defense systems, etc. This is visually confirmed. There are a lot of rumors about this formation, including order of battle and possible size. 60,000-15,000?

GRRM has two series to finish now- Fire and Blood and Game of Thrones LOL. He did not finish the second and last book for Fire and Blood yet.

I agree, I think the main problem with her take on the piece is that she sings it too slow. There seems to be an error of interpretation. The original one was perfect, and matched the suspenseful atmosphere, and was played in the trailer. Are you playing bloodborne recently?
