  1. Feast of Crows has some additional writing that's a little awkward. GRRM instantly turns Qyburn from a subtle, mild-mannered 'punished' meister (in book 1-3) into a scheming, mustache twirling mad scientist/lord. Brienne is written into a Mary Sue. She is written as socially awkward and socially dumb in the first 3 books and in this one she suddenly gets really witty /badass. Asha was the original Mary Sue in books 1-3 and GRRM double downs on this to an annoying extent. Cersei was evil in book 1-3 but in book 4 her evil is doubled, too. It's too much of a character stretch as GRRM did not write the characters like this in the first 3 books. Jaime is so far the best written character. I like his psychological development here. 3 1/2 books now and there is so, so little Bran.
