  7. episode The Mourning After When a sweetgirl named Allison meets a great guy after speed dating one night, she invites him home, but upon waking up alone, she's filled with shame. After scrawling words like, "whore, slut, dirty" on the wall, she draws a bath, steps into it, and holds a hairdryer under the water. It seems a clear-cut suicide, but Allison's sister, Collette, can't believe that could be true. Bo and Kenzi take on the case, but since Dyson's hands are tied by his cover job and Lauren's still too awkward to be any help, the two girls are on their own. That is, until they are knocked off the trail by a very angry Succubus named Saskia, who demands to know why Bo is hunting on her turf. Bo explains her position, trying to make working for a living sound as cool as possible to a woman who has everything handed to her, and eventually Saskia not only backs off, but also agrees to take Bo under her wing and teach her the advanced techniques of Succubus powers. She also offers to help with the suicide case, but this is too much for Kenzi. With someone else crowding her BFF, Kenzi decides to give the two super-lovers some space, and heads to Trick's bar. Turns out Kenzi's timing is perfect: Trick needs help talking to a type of Fae called a Lightening Bird that will only show herself to human women. One of her eggs will help Trick find a magical coin that's been lost, and is due to a friend of his the next day. Kenzi does her part and secures the egg, but in the process, she hears a hint of Trick's true identity as the Blood King. She won't lord it over him, but she makes it clear that she knows Trick has a pretty good secret to keep. And good news regarding the coin: Trick's "friend" stole it, and when the egg points out the truth, the coin remains Trick's indefinitely. And when Saskia and Bo show up for their meeting with Collette, they find the woman dead, with the same scrawled-out words her sister had written on the walls around her. Saskia sees in them the mark of an Albaster, a Fae that feeds on human sexual shame and the Succubus's deadly enemy. They revisit the bar, but finding no leads, return to their respective homes to think it over. Bo, however, finds that she has a visitor: The manager from the speed dating events that Allison frequented. As he approaches and his eyes glow a deadly blue, Bo realizes that this man, Bertram, is the Albaster. He killed Collette to keep her from digging any deeper, and now he's going to kill Bo - or would have, if Saskia hadn't shown up just then. Saskia incapacitates the Albaster, then the two Succubi tie him to a chair and get the truth out of him. Bo is about to call Dyson for help, but Saskia sucks the man's energy right out of him. Bo is terrified that Saskia would be so violent, but she insists that she was only trying to keep Bo safe. This move has killed the friendship, at least for now, and Bo runs back to the reliable confidences of Kenzi. Bo is grateful for her steady friend, but knows she's lost something precious and powerful in Saskia, and feels a great ache without the mentorship and confidence that Saskia could have provided.
  8. season 2 episode 10 : Dream reaper In this week's episode, Aidan, Josh and Zoe commit to doing whatever it takes to break Sally out of her zombie-like state. After being trapped on the staircase with salt, Sally falls into a deep sleep that Josh and Aidan can't seem to wake her from. Worried, they decide to seek out nurse Zoe, the one person who knows enough about ghosts to be helpful. The problem is soliciting her help without letting her know that Sally has already shredded Nick, Zoe's ghostly boyfriend. Zoe isn't interested in helping Sally since Sally just attacked and killed all the ghosts in her support group but when Aidan explains that Sally seems to be sick, Zoe reluctantly agrees. At the house, Aidan and Josh explain everything that's happened and, once Zoe hears the whole story, she realizes that another spirit has inhabited Sally's soul. With Zoe's encouragement, Josh and Aidan both try to talk to Sally but the Reaper has her trapped in a fantasy that she's enjoying immensely. In her mind, Sally is engaged to the Reaper (Scott), and the two of them live in a well-decorated version of the same house she lives in with Josh and Aidan. While Sally only hears Josh and Aidan as whispers, the Reaper can hear them all too well. In an attempt to strengthen his hold on Sally, Reaper convinces Sally to go to sleep and then uses Sally's body to tell Zoe that Sally killed her beau. Horrified, Zoe tries to leave but the Reaper traps all of them in the house together—a recipe for certain disaster since the full moon is only hours away and Aidan is weak with hunger. The only way for Zoe to survive the night is to help Sally. Zoe mind melds with Sally, inserting herself into Sally's fantasy of an engagement party. Zoe tries to convince Sally that her dream life is just that: A dream. Meanwhile, Aidan can't resist the urge to suck some of Zoe's blood while she's incapable of fighting back and Josh has to stop him. With time ticking away and no way to escape the house, the night looks grim, especially after Aidan drinks some of Josh's blood and goes into convulsions. Aidan's pained screams rip through Sally's fantasy of an engagement party and Sally is finally able to see her friends and the trouble they are in because of her. She chooses to return to her body, which releases Reaper's control over the house. Finally free, Josh heads to the woods, Aidan limps to his bedroom and Zoe tells Sally that she'll never forgive her for killing Nick. Sally is left alone with Scott the Reaper, whom she now knows is a part of her.

Designers looking to the East for inspiration has become something of a fashion week tradition. China’s booming luxury market is a force unto itself and all through fashion month, the influence of those consumers could be seen on the runways. Western brands have attempted to merge aesthetics with varying degrees of success, but what happens when the shoe is on the other foot? As one of Asia’s premier fashion brands, Shiatzy Chen has always focused on crafting clothing that combines classic Chinese handicraft with Western cutting techniques. The fall / winter show was an elegant and romantic take on Miao culture, as viewed through a luxury lens. Streamlined shapes, rich colors and embroidered details combined to make an appealing statement on the modern femininity. Beginning with a series of a-line skirts worn with high boots to create an almost mod silhouette, the collection felt fresh and graphic. The sections of crimson looks, emblazoned with detailed embroidery were a highlight, as were the sumptuous fur accents seen throughout. The sheer opulence viewed on the Shiatzy runway was the ultimate representation of the brand’s commitment to luxury. Carmen Kass and Sui He sauntering down the runway in glossy dresses fit for any red carpet were like the icing on a decadent cake. Runway Images : Stephan Moskovic for Models.com Backstage Images: Janelle Okwodu for Models.com MDC: How do you feel about Western designers looking to China for inspiration this season? Madame Wang: We have more than 5,000 years of history in China, there are so many elements there for inspiration within the history and culture so everyone is doing different things and getting different ideas from within the culture. I don’t think it is a problem, because there is so much in our history to be inspired by. MDC: Why do you think the Shiatzy Chen look resonates with your clientele? Madame Wang: Shiatzy Chen’s woman is always very classic and feminine, that is the key feature of Shiatzy Chen and what I think people respond to. MDC: Can you tell us a bit about the exquisite detailing on the accessories this season? Madame Wang: The phoenix and dragon are the key motif of this season. This year it is the year of the dragon in China and if you look at the accessories you can see a lot of that in the embroidery and detail. MDC: We have to know – when is the brand coming to America? Madame Wang: We’ve been discussing the stores in New York in recent years, hopefully next year or the year after you’re going to see Shiatzy Chen in America! MDC: What was it like to walk this particular show? Ming Xi: Its a great honor to do a Chinese designer’s show. I’m Chinese and of course I’m just so proud of my country. I’m really happy to see them bringing a bit of Chinese culture to Paris fashion week. Everyone knows the iconic Chinese designs and this lets them see a modern version. Sui He: I felt very excited to do this show of course and honored as well to walk for such an important designer. I think this season my fashion week has been so much more enjoyable, last time I think I was too tired to take it all in and appreciate it, but this time I’m able to really have fun and enjoy things! So many amazing things have happened – especially that video! MDC: What are you doing once fashion week wraps up? Ming Xi: I’m going to stay in Paris, so I get one more week of fun and I’m going to celebrate my birthday. Normally my birthday is during fashion week so I don’t have time to go out, but this year it is just right after fashion week and I get to really celebrate!
