  1. Searched the thread and didn't see this. Sorry if a repost! Cindy Crawford -- Simply The Best Excellent, extensive Cindy resource fan-site, with a chronological archive-portfolio. http://simplythebest-cindy.com/ In "Cindy In Advertising", there is a cute story about her appearing for Marshall Field's, a department store in Chicago, and then becoming popular at school. I remember someone talking about that Marshall Field's ad, and it was mentioned on Jay Leno's show as I think one of Cindy's very first gigs, but I have never actually seen it. There is a small (sepia'd) version on the site.
  2. Probably just for you niche collectors, but: eBay, Cindy on the cover of 1991 Hasselblad System Magazine, ph. Marco Glaviano http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewI...p;Category=3351 (Hasselblad is a brand of camera, aimed at professionals and wealthy amateurs)
  3. Thanks for the link.
  4. I liked the Jessica van der Steen example more than the Yasmine Bleeth. --> Trolling another site, I saw: http://www.monitor.hr/belle/9801/980126.htm http://www.monitor.hr/belle/9801/980106.htm (I think the outfit is not diaphanous enough) http://www.monitor.hr/belle/9806/980625.htm (I'm not a fan of Kate's, but I think this is smart photography) --> Not exactly white-on-white, but http://www.monitor.hr/belle/9712/971230.htm (blue palette) Also, you probably know it, but the Wet Mischief editorial with Christy Turlington, in 1992 Harper's Bazaar, Patrick Demarchelier, is right up this alley. Though it's not white-on-white, it's such a smart bit of photography in a very tight palette; I think it's actually the best swimsuit edit I know (particularly since the photography gets so much of the quality of her skin). Doesn't hurt that Christy is such a good model, but it's a brilliant bit of photography in a very tight palette. (from the great "A Christy Turlington Gallery" http://djuna.cine21.com/christy/) look at this, for example: and: I aspire to work like that.
  5. Missclaudia! The covers on your bed seem to be MULTIPLYING!
  6. In case you missed it: The Fashion Spot has a nice thread going about 90s supermodels (some familiar faces in that thread, with dual-citizenship, I guess!). "VickiB" on that site posted some lovely Niki, here: http://www.thefashionspot.com/forums/showp...;postcount=2222 I agree with her about that last one. Certainly a new favorite.
  7. Another outstanding collection (of posts), jal. Many personal favorites. Some new favorites.
  8. Favorite. Just what I said to some gnocchi recently, P-D: You have such nice taste. There is another super one in that SUMMER 1996 edit, too. It's one of my very favorite photographs, because it looks so simple, and perfect. It's the one with her in the hallway, medium shot, I think shorts and really simple t-shirt. I've been looking around, but can't find it. I'll see if I can find it.
  9. Well, READING across from you, B&O, you could GO a SHORT LINE further and take a CHANCE that he will show up on this board, betting that when he wants to be in with ELECTRIC COMPANY, he will, to this, BOARD WALK. Unlimited Hegemony! No, that wasn't it. Unlimited Hyperbole! That was it.
  10. Thanks for the info! I would have guessed Christy (she just goes everywhere so well). I would not have guessed Cindy and Claudia.
  11. Thanks for the link! (FLASH! Headline! Dateline Bellazon!: New B&O Railroad posts now linked to Reading! Story to follow.)
  12. Two cards for Christy for Michele Pommier 1987 (!) (on the Marlowe Press site): http://www.modelindexcards.com/getlist.php...on&year=all I love that ELLE cover. I think the second one is a terrific photograph, but, that's a comp card?
  13. Two cards for Karen from Elite 1988 (on the Marlowe Press site): http://www.modelindexcards.com/getlist.php...er&year=all I had never seen the Marie France cover (and which is I think is a new favorite). I don't know what her first cover is, but that looks like early Karen.
  14. Two of Elaine's cards from Elite 1990 (on the Marlowe Press site): http://www.modelindexcards.com/getlist.php...in&year=all
  15. Mini Mad Mod 60’s Galleries for Barbara Bach, Barbara Carrera, Beverly Johnson, Candice Bergen, Cheryl Tiegs, Cybill Shepherd (Miss Teen Memphis 1969), Veronica Hamel, and similar. "Hosted by Linda Morand, and several other top 60's and 70's models, including Joan Thompson, Jaan Stephens and Willy van Rooy." http://groups.msn.com/MiniMadMod60s/index.msnw
  16. The Peter Marlowe Model Composite Archives Archive of comp cards for models of the late 1960s to the early 1990s. Cards for literally thousands of models. Listings for about 150 different agencies, including Elite, Ford, Wilhelmina, City, Metropolitan, Models1. http://www.modelindexcards.com/index.html
  17. I thought I would start a thread specifically for recommending resources and other internet sites that are not specific to any one model, and either not well-known, or possibly hard to find. To keep this thread as useful as possible, please only post replies into this thread that contain a link to a site, or a description of the resource. If you would like to thank someone for recommending a resource you've found useful, please consider a Personal Message (which will be welcome, I am sure). You do not need to recommend a site like nikitaylor.com in this thread, since that site is specific to one model (and could go in her thread). You do not need to recommend a site like The Fashion Spot or Her Famed Good Looks or Wikipedia or Google image search in this thread, since those sites are well-known or easy to find. If you see that a site which has been recommended is actually loaded with malware or trojans, please flag that post immediately with a reply and notify an administrator. Please do not post links to peer-to-peer clients or networks, or similar resources.
