  1. don't believe that please.
  2. The issue I have with that particular Christy pic is that it is a little too much up her nose, the way that is shot and she is posed. Though I think Christy is a fantastic model, obviously (as I said, I think that Wet Mischief is literally brilliant). Here's one more, another favorite:
  3. Mentioned it in Shana's thread, and thought I would put it in Niki's too (from Her Famed Good Looks): Niki and Shana Zadrick. http://www.herfamedgoodlooks.com/hfgl/Shan...pages/pull1.htm Like I said, I think it's a favorite because trashy wasn't a typical look for Niki, and here it's all so silly. To me, they both look like they are about to crack-up laughing about the shot.
  4. Celebrity Pictures Archive has a nice retrospective: 107 tiles on 18 pages. Some things were new to me, or my memory is going, going ... http://www.celebritypicturesarchive.com/pg...ck-pictures.htm And this is a favorite (on the treasure-trove Her Famed Good Looks): http://www.herfamedgoodlooks.com/hfgl/Shan...pages/pull1.htm I think because, one, it's also Niki, who I love, but with a look she didn't often do: trashy Niki. It's fun. And, to me, they look like they're struggling to ... keep straight faces. Like they are about to crack-up laughing about the shot.
  5. Here are two more. Both have veiled NUDITY. This one with Stephanie Seymour is one of my favorite photographs, period. I think she's such a great model, and this is a great concept executed very well (I love the background). http://www.monitor.hr/belle/9810/981008.htm I think that is actually a "revisitation": that there is another version of it with almost identical pose, wardrobe, and location particulars, just some time earlier. And, Christy: http://www.monitor.hr/belle/0212/021230.htm I'm not sure at what point in her career that is, but I think that is a literally brilliant bit of modeling and photography.
  6. Almost all of those were new to me. Thanks!
  7. Carol on the Belle de Jour site: http://www.monitor.hr/belle/0309/030923.htm
  8. ZOTHIKE's Karen site has a new, small update (some super-nice black-and-white stuff): http://www.zothike.com/zothike/mulder.htm
  9. I had never heard of MODELS WORLD, either. That is gorgeous! Both of these new to me, also
  10. New to me. And, yes I checked, it's not a repost! On the Belle de Jour site: http://www.monitor.hr/belle/0209/020923.htm
  11. New to me. Think this is credited correctly as Kelly Emberg. On the Belle de Jour site: http://www.monitor.hr/belle/0207/020725.htm
  12. It’s a little bit like asking, “Why did the parent slap the child?” Sometimes the offensive behavior is the child’s. Sometimes the offensive behavior is actually the parent’s. So, you ask “Why?”: Contributors to internet forums like this one sometimes use their anonymity to deliberately cause trouble, or “bait” other people into arguments by posting intentionally offensive, racist or hateful things. Or they are consistently argumentative or hostile. It happens, unfortunately. Or they post spam business or product offers, and the like. It happens, unfortunately. And when that happens, one of the forum moderators or one of the site administrators typically warns that person first, to please change their behavior, then deletes that user account (and also attempts to prevent that person from rejoining) if the offensive behavior continues. But site administrators can also be less than benevolent. alisa had a pithy observation about that, I thought: Though I do think Bellazon is a well-moderated and well-run site (apart from one site crash ). sylvames is an administrator (on the Supermodel 90s forum, not Bellazon) who has deleted a few user accounts, I think, so possibly she will chime in about why she likes to do that. And, you also ask, “How?”: A site administrator uses the forum software and chooses “delete user account”.
  13. she got busy with personal life and abandoned the cyberworld Well, good for her. Our loss, certainly. I think, she would be all over this thread, though. Do you think? Send her a teaser, Joe. Tempt her back.
  14. Whatever happened to Georgia? I wasn't happy about having my account deleted either, but I thought Georgia seemed like a friendly (and amazingly knowledgeable!) person. It's one of the other sad things about having your account deleted by the mods/admin: You lose contact with all the people you enjoyed talking to.
  15. Thanks for the recommendation. Shots of Style is actually at my local library, so I'll check that out. The prices of these books is an interesting thing in itself. All of the books, or at least the ones I have been looking at, are out of publication. As used books, their prices are all over the place, without much relation for my tastes to what I perceive as quality or desirability of content (though that probably says more about my tastes and utter lack of sophistication than anything else, but anyway). Sirens, for example, can be had for about $5. Fashion Fetish Fantasy, $200.
  16. This came up before (the subject of photo-image utilities), and I meant to post this link: IrfanView is a nice little freeware utility that will allow you to quickly resize images (CTL-R), and also quickly convert image file formats (BMP --> JPG), among other things. It has a slideshow function, a screen-cap function, will allow you to make adjustments to image saturation and brightness and contrast, and will also play (some) video files. It's simple to use. I've been using it for years, and find it very stable, and very handy. It's free. http://www.irfanview.com/
  17. Somewhat off-topic, but On Mugler: Too Funky is available over on YouTube, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rDcUleR8mnk and so is a behind-the-scenes making-of Too Funky, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j356QjApjkE#
  18. Phil, most of those were new to me, and I think just amazing. The thing about the Mugler is, I think just, "How?" How wonderful.
  19. WOW! This is one of my very favorite pieces of commercial-fashion photography. I LOVE the make-up and concept in that; I think it's just so clever. There is one with Stephanie also, I think, but this one with Kirsty is a favorite. And I have never seen the entire picture! What a treat! I have only seen the left half, framed around her face. I just never knew the frame extended right, with all her hair. What a fabulous treat to see that. It's one of my favorites. Thank you. Phil, what do you think of the Fashion Images De Mode books? I was thinking about buying one or two fashion photography books. SIRENS (Glaviano) was actually one I was thinking of. It was mentioned positively here (Bellazon), in Ashley Richardson's thread I think.
  20. Searched the thread and didn't see this link. Sorry if repost! Thought this was a nice fansite-resource, especially for its easy navigation and convenience. Unfortunately, not much informational content (dates, photographers) in the galleries, but check out the extensive video gallery: What a great portrait and retrospective through clips and interviews!
