SI currently has a slightly different version of this on their site, in the pictorial "Evolution of the Bikini". http://vault.sportsillustrated.cnn.com/vau.../1/30/index.htm Happy they chose Valeria for the title page.

Welcome, zauberkorn! Welcome to Bellazon! Those are great. I like to see all the different editions with the same cover shot. I didn't know the BURDA magazine!

Stephanie Seymour
Nice as usual, capt bob. That's one of my very favorite Stephanie Seymour pictures (top left corner). I don't think I'd seen the whole page/layout before, so that's especially nice. Thanks.

Alisa, those are AWESOME!

Oh, I liked both those editorials, Phil. Really nice. And they were both new to me. I was just looking at collage work the other day (sort of, the second ed). Nice to see you!

Saw a couple of nice threads for Diana on two other forums: http://z4.invisionfree.com/FSfFM_Forum/ind...p?showtopic=517 http://www.wft-forum.com/index.php?showtopic=898

I didn't realize that Annie had started her own message board. That's great. Love that early Glaviano. Thanks, everyone!

Wow. I wasn't absolutely crazy about the dress from the other angles, but wow, that's a daring little item. For a dress I thought was a bit frumpy and unflattering, what a risqué look!

You could try asking over on bwgreyscale. http://www.bwgreyscale.com/discussion_boards/index.php If you don't know already know bwgreyscale, that forum/community has been around for quite a while, and there is a section just for ads, and many forum posts are exclusively ads. bwgreyscale is a nice site. I just did a quick search, and saw other Chanel ads that are obviously in the same series as yours, so (info about) yours is probably around. For example: http://www.bwgreyscale.com/discussion_boar...er+chanel#49321 http://www.bwgreyscale.com/discussion_boar...er+chanel#48119 The site also has a section just for ads. For example: http://www.bwgreyscale.com/ads/chanel.html

Wish I could help you. I had a look around (probably, the typical places), and couldn't even find a thumbnail of a Cosmo cover. I did see these three things: A Maclean's Apr 1987, a Chatelaine May 1986, and Monika's page at Sutherland models. http://www.sutherlandmodels.com/display2.asp?pageid=44 http://cgi.ebay.com/Macleans-April-13-1987...5QQcmdZViewItem http://cgi.ebay.com/Canadian-fashion-model...6QQcmdZViewItem

Gorgeous! It's a nice scan, too. I think I might remember that picture for the next 16 years.

Hello, and welcome to Bellazon! I don't have a completion for you, but it looks like Victoria's Secret to me. I don't know which year, but maybe early-mid 90s. Have you looked through the pages of this thread? I know there are a lot of pages to look through, but capt_bob, a member here and also at The Fashion Spot, has contributed a lot of VS in this thread and also in the General Babe Discussion forum on this site. Try also Stephanie's thread on TFS: http://www.thefashionspot.com/forums/f52/s...mour-40362.html

That is a great Ultra cover. Hey, that's neat! (If I can sound like such an old fart {there doesn't seem to be an emoticon for "old fart" [possibly a good thing]}) John, just out of pure curiosity, do you still have a copy of the picture you used in your eBay ad? I'm trying to picture that collection, and I think it must have been quite, quite impressive.

Nice, Omac. Very nice. Anne looks very pretty. Wow. I wasn't absolutely crazy about the dress from the other angles, but wow, that's a daring little item. For a dress I thought was a bit frumpy and unflattering, what a risqué look!

I really like the Vogue Knitting cover. I think the quality of the scan is rather good, too. Nice job.

Those are great, qisties! That's a nice collection.- Guest Posting
Would it be possible to allow guest posting in the Site and Forum area? I recently had a very frustrating technical problem with this site that I was not able to resolve. I had to write PinkCouture on another board to ask her to fix my account on this one, because I could neither log in to my Bellazon account nor take any other action with it. I sent an email to the Bellazon gmail address, but that email went unanswered. If I had been able to post as a guest somewhere in the Site and Forum area, it would have been very useful to me.- Niki Taylor
Those are great, Mags! I hadn't seen- Paulina Porizkova
Thanks for your post. I had the same question. A while ago, I asked PhilA (I think the post was lost in the crash) which fashion photography book in his (extensive) library he would recommend to someone who might be buying their first book. Or, the question was something like that. I can't remember exactly. But the thing about it to me was, the prices of these books as used books was very puzzling. Sirens was one the books I was looking to buy. I liked many of the models, and especially Ashley Richardson. And that book could be had, used in good condition, for about ten US dollars. And there were many used copies available. The book Phil recommended was Fashion Fetish Fantasy, Mugler. At the time, I could find only one copy of that for sale, used of course, and that copy was something like 300 US dollars. ! I think I decided it was just my own lack of taste and sophistication, but I just couldn't make sense of such a disparity in prices. If I could have thirty books like Sirens or one book like Fashion Fetish Fantasy. I realize that one book is rare and will appeal to serious collectors and fans, but I find the difference in prices between those two books very surprising. And bewildering. Glad you joined Bellazon, by the way, MissParker.- Paulina Porizkova
Thanks for the link. I like those "insider"/industry things, like the agency books. That's called "auction sniping". http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Auction_sniping Now I am a little bit embarrassed to tell you this, but I do that too when I bid on eBay. (I'm not the evil person who has been outbidding you, though. I promise.) I have found it is a much better strategy to bid very late on eBay, than to bid my maximum amount early.- Renee Simonsen
July 21 1985 is indeed a Sunday. The Sunday edition of The New York Times is the largest edition of the week, and includes some sections and "magazines" that do not come with the paper on any other day. (Or, at least it used to. I haven't taken The New York Times in fifteen years.) It's possible that the page you are asking about was inside a special, Sunday-only section of the Sunday paper. Otherwise, I can't think of any special meaning for "SUNDAY". ??? Do you mean The New York Times specifically, or "vintage" magazines in general? I like this site very much (you probably know it): http://www.paperpursuits.com/ . A magic phrase for the Google/Yahoo search engines seems to be "vintage fashion magazine". When I tried that just now, I turned up pages and pages of links. I thought this was a good one: A list of vintage magazine sources: http://www.trussel.com/books/magdeal.htm Also: http://www.advertisingarchives.co.uk/index.php and http://www.vidcat.com/store/manufacturers....anufacturerid=5 .- Paulina Porizkova
I did not remember ever seeing it before, so I took a look back through all of Paulina's 96 pages and I may have missed it, but I did not see posted before. - Valeria Mazza
