I heard that one of the reasons why he signed a new contract though was so that he could have a relegation release clause (£6 million) written into his contract. He is a little mercurial but on his day he's superb. Sbragia did well hanging on to him. I bet you're happy that it didn't do through and you weren't lumbered with Darren Bent! Chimbonda has got a mixed reception really. Lots of fans think that he has a poor temperament - remember the Carling Cup final - but I think that a slim majority of fans are happy to have him back as he's pretty handy and he's versatile, which is important as our defence are so injury prone. Personally, I'm quite glad that he's back. I was really quite surprised that he thinks really didn't work at Sunderland and that lots of the fans didn't like him. Malbranque's done well though! I'm happy for him. How's Tainio doing?

Indeed, many people with many balls on many occasions. Once I scored a great goal in a football (soccer ) match at school, but there was sadly a lack of a goal net and the ball proceeded to hit the 70 year old school dinner lady in the face - très unfortunate. :| Was scoring the goal worth felling a pensioner, I don't know. Have you ever played croquet?

Spot on; good analysis. Scolari did seem to have been a bit out of sorts; he was the only "top 4" manager who complimented the others. Oh yes, I meant to ask you, what did you make of Chimbonda's departure? And why, oh why, couldn't you have sold us Kenwyne?

Scolari sacked by Chelsea and Adams sacked by Pompey!! I get the Adams sacking and feel rather sorry for the chap, but the Scolari one has come right out of the blue! :| It's a funny time to get rid of him, especially since the transfer window has just closed. I wonder who Chelsea will bring in? Never a dull moment . . .

The Liverpool match was crazy yesterday. Rafa's a total enigma to me. :| The Manchester United clean sheet record is really starting to irritate me; <_< you can't watch or listen to a match with them in without the commentators chatting about the record every two minutes or so.

Because Liverpool are chokers. That result against Chelsea will change nothing. We'll finish 4th behind Villa and I think Keane will return What is Redknapp doing buying Defoe, Keane and Chimbonda back? You'd think with that money, they could finally find players that are better than them. :| Surely the next logical step would be for Redknapp to sign Martin Jol to take his place as manager Although Keane's a brilliant player, it seems a bit of a strange move. Benitez made it quite clear that he wasn't the one who signed him in the first place, but selling him puts extra pressure on the Gerrard/Torres pairing. And wasn't there a huge fuss made about Keane and Defoe not being able to play together back in the day? I didn't quite get where Keane fitted in at Liverpool. Rafa seems to like a 4-5-1, which is rubbish for Keane as he can't play alone up front. If Redknapp can't get Defoe and Keane to play together then it's going to be another couple of frustrating seasons at Spurs. At least the Keane signing heralds the sale of Bent in the Summer.

You'd think with that money, they could finally find players that are better than them. :| Rafa does seem to have lost the plot a bit. Chelsea result was good but you were lucky with the Lampard red card. Hmm, I can't see you finishing behind Villa; Villa have been good but if they get a couple of injuries then I think that they'd really struggle to keep up the pace. I see why Redknapp would go for them. With our league position we need players who are proven in the Premier League. Defoe and Keane are proven and Chimbonda does a job, I suppose. If Spurs brought in players from abroad then it would be a bit of a gamble I think. Also, things really haven't worked out too well with Spurs foreign signings over the past couple of seasons - not that Spurs' domestic signings have been good either - Bentley Also, who wants to go to Spurs at the moment? The Defoe injury is rather irritating. <_<

There are so many of these type of allegations now. Haven't Robin van Persie and half of the England football team also been accused over the past few years? I suppose that Robinho does have a bit of a history with his whole "40 condoms" thing. Why's everything gone so pear-shaped with Liverpool, Teddy? Do you reckon that you're keeping Keane or would you fancy aiding Messrs Redknapp and Levy in their quest to reassemble the Tottenham team of 07/08? :sneaky:

Talking of Abramovich . . . he's supposedly taking soundings about selling Chelsea. He's lost £3 billion of his £11 billion fortune over the last year with the 'credit crunch' and all. To buy Chelsea would apparently set one back a cool £800 million; any takers?

My money's on Eboue Good shout. . . . I was erring more towards van Persie personally. I find him rather irritating but I'm not sure if that's because he is a truly annoying character or because I'm a Tottenham fan. :| Gallas is gone as Arsenal captain. Comedy timing on Nigel Winterburn's part; assuring everyone that Gallas will be staying as captain only just before the story broke that he has lost the captaincy. Who will be his successor do you reckon? . . . I think that choosing Cesc would be a huge error. He is already under a huge amount of pressure and the captaincy would just further burden him, I reckon. I heard that Almunia's in the equation. :|
