I think that's true about the contract, although there were a few conflicting stories about whether he already had the clause from the beginning or whether it's just been added. Personally, I don't really have too much of a problem with it - I tend to think getting relegated means it's virtually impossible to hang on to your best players anyway and even harder to command much more than £6-7 million for them. Tainio's been impressive, but only really in short bursts so far. He's had an unlucky run of injuries since joining so unfortunately he hasn't had a decent chance to establish himself in the side as yet. He seems a useful player though - he reads the game well, protects the back four (again, something we were really crying out for last season) and always looks calm on the ball. If he could just get a few more games under his belt, I think he'd become a popular figure around here. Is Bent really as bad as all that? I thought Harry was joking when he said he rated his wife as a better striker Good point. Tainio's really passionate. You could see that he loved Spurs - who he supported as a boy - and it was really sad that we sold him; I heard that he didn't want to leave. He certainly did a job for us. Glad that he's playing well up with you Mackems. Shame about the injuries though. I spent a long time after we signed Bent telling people to give him a chance, and thinking that he was a good chap and that he would come good. I just don't feel that he fits in at Spurs, on the pitch or in the dressing room , and that he isn't consistent enough. (Apparently he's the top English goalscorer this season though ) Some of his misses. :|

wasting away. Supper was pushed back by the Six Nations rugby and the kitchen is now inaccessible, as a housemate is having some kind of bizarre party in it. Tough times.

  19. Indeed. "At the age of eleven or thereabouts women acquire a poise and an ability to handle difficult situations which a man, if he is lucky, manages to achieve somewhere in the later seventies." - P.G. Wodehouse. True? The number thirteen is lucky for Capricorns, after all.
