Salvaging a point without doing yourself justice is a decent habit to get into when you're fighting for your life at the bottom, particularly against an impressively slick Southampton, who I distinctly remember playing us off the park last season as well. Yes, we must try and find a solution to our poor home form and quickly, but we can't play brilliantly every week and may well need more afternoons like that one.

Haven't seen much of the boy at Sunderland but he looked lively at Augsburg last season. Moments when he looked the part for us were few and far between, but he was never used in his preferred position and was treated appallingly by Di Canio. Get him super fit and in the right headspace (which I’m almost certain Klopp will be able to do), he could become a real star.

Arrow
Arrow is an American television series developed by writer/producers Greg Berlanti, Marc Guggenheim, and Andrew Kreisberg. It is based on the DC Comics character Green Arrow, a costumed crime-fighter who was created by Mort Weisinger and George Papp. It premiered in North America on The CW on October 10, 2012, with international broadcasting taking place in late 2012. The series follows billionaire playboy Oliver Queen, portrayed by Stephen Amell, who, after five years of being stranded on a hostile island, returns home to fight crime and corruption as a secret vigilante whose weapon of choice is a bow and arrow. Unlike in the comic books, Oliver does not go by the alias "Green Arrow" in the television series. Arrow also features appearances by other DC Comics characters. The series attempts to take a realistic look at the Green Arrow character, as well as other characters from the DC Comics universe. Although Oliver Queen/Green Arrow had been featured in the television series Smallville from 2006 to 2011, the producers decided to start clean and find a new actor (Amell) to portray the character. Arrow focuses on the humanity of Oliver Queen, and how his time on a presumably deserted island affected him. The creative team chose to illustrate that in the series by crafting flashback scenes to the island for every episode. The series is primarily filmed in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. Arrow has received generally favorable reviews from critics, and was the highest rated new series on the CW in past five years up to its release. The series averaged approximately 3.68 million viewers over the course of the first season, and has garnered multiple award nominations and three wins. To assist in promotion, a preview comic book was released before the television series began; webisodes featuring a product tie-in with Bose were developed for the second season. The first season is available on DVD and Blu-ray in regions 1, 2 and 4. The second season of Arrow premiered on October 9, 2013. Series overview The series follows Oliver Queen (Stephen Amell), billionaire playboy of Starling City, who spends five years stranded on an island following a shipwreck that claims the life of everyone else on board, including his father, Robert Queen (Jamey Sheridan). Upon his return to Starling City, he is reunited with his mother, Moira (Susanna Thompson), her new husband, Walter Steele (Colin Salmon), the current CEO of Queen Consolidated; and his younger sister, Thea (Willa Holland). He is also greeted by his best friend, Tommy Merlyn (Colin Donnell), the son of billionaire Malcolm Merlyn (John Barrowman), and ex-girlfriend Laurel Lance (Katie Cassidy). The first season focuses on Oliver reconnecting with people upon his return, and spending his nights hunting down the wealthy responsible for "failing the city" as a hooded vigilante who is not afraid to kill his targets. Oliver is assisted in his vendetta by John Diggle (David Ramsey), who acts as Oliver's bodyguard in front of the public, and Felicity Smoak (Emily Bett Rickards), an IT specialist who works at Queen Consolidated. The first season also features flashbacks to Oliver's time on the island, and how it changed him; this continues in the second season. Season two focuses on Oliver's decision to stop all criminals, without killing them, following the death of his best friend. Oliver must also contend with outside forces attempting to take over Queen Consolidated, as well as the revelation that certain individuals have returned from perceived death. The series also features the introductions of various DC Comics characters, both in present time and flashbacks to the island, many of whom are vying for control of Starling City.

Almost Human
As far as I'm aware, this show has yet to reach the UK, but I'll be most interested to give it a look if and when it does. I find that Abrams has a real talent for creating fun action sequences and compelling (if sometimes convoluted) plots, and the unveiling of the usual 'big conspiracy' is almost always worth sticking around for.

The Avengers, Age of Ultron, Infinity War & Endgame (2012-2019)
A lot will probably depend on whether or not an 'Avengers 3' is in the works, because I can't imagine them wanting to do a whole third movie without Stark. Most likely, Rhodey's death (presumably at the robotic hands of Ultron) becomes Tony’s motivation to return to his superhero duties, since he retired his armour at the end of 'Iron Man 3’.

People are laughing alright Moyesy, but not at officials. Far too soon to be dreaming of Wembley of course, nice though to see the lads play with energy and drive once in a while, and to be in with a chance in a fortnight’s time. If only we could start reproducing this form in the league.- Daria Werbowy

Good thing there are no divers at Chelsea. Wink wink! At least when the chop comes from Sullivan and Gold, 'Allardici' will be free to take one of those jobs he believes are more suited to his talents. Europe's elite, form an orderly queue! I can also wholeheartedly recommend Di Canio to 'Ammers fans everywhere.- Football
RIP Eusebio. The longest serving Premier League managers list... 1) Wenger 2) Pardew 3) Allardyce (watch this space?) 4) Rodgers 5) Lambert Rodgers was appointed the day before Lambert but they're basically the bloody old guard at this point! I'm certainly not one for lamenting the impatience of mad foreign owners, or pining for a time when a manager had five years to make a pig's ear of his job instead of five months, but the current culture of quick dismissals at the first sign of trouble does make it potentially difficult to separate those who know what they're doing from those who don't. If the new generation (Clarke, Mackay, Poyet etc) are never given the chance to overcome adversity, how can we ever really find out if they're up to much?- Football

We showed great resilience to scrap for a win at Everton and snatch a point against Cardiff, but if ever there was a game to expose the inherent lack of quality and depth in the squad, that was it. Villa were deserved winners and our makeshift back four wobbled against Benteke and Agbonlahor (who almost always seems to save his best for games against us) throughout. Cattermole, with his first assist in two years, was the pick of the clowns, while Fletcher looked about as sharp as a pair of flares with pockets in the knees. January will be a huge month, both on and off the pitch. The fact that we're not yet cut adrift suggests that we still have an outside chance of survival, but if a late surge is going to happen, it's going to have to happen bloody quickly.- X-Men: Days of Future Past (2014)
