I found that odd... In most of the videos I've seen of her, she looks more or less the same as she does in her VS pictures. But I agree that she looks a lot thinner in those candids.

Even though he's not "that" famous as you say, I'd wager that quite a few more people would know the guy who played Legolas in one of the most popular movie franchises in cinematic history than some random VS model. That's not a knock on Miranda, it's just the reality of the difference in mainstream appeal between cinema and fashion.

Well Ale's English is certainly far superior to Adri's. Although I'd say that Candi's is better than both of them - not surprising a South-African I guess.

I just think supermodels were a perfect concept for that time - late 80s - but since then both the fashion industry and the mainstream have changed so significantly that it's unlikely to happen again. We should also not underestimate the fact that, besides the climate being perfect for it to happen at the time, we were also blessed with a crop of models who had the perfect blend of sexiness, mystique and class to catch the imagination of the public.

If Candice follows the KK scenario, than she'll be at her absolute apex next year. Giving her the bra in 2014 would be kind of silly.

Now that would just be f*cked up! I could see Rosie getting it even though Candice (again) and probably Ale will probably look like they should get it. Well I see your point with Transformers III coming out on July 1st... They can probably ride the coattails of the international promo campaign for that movie until November.

Well it's all very subjective and I wouldn't be making the South-African's case if she wasn't my favorite of the bunch. Having said that, I still think it's an odd tactic to promote the hell out of one model and then choose someone else for the highest "honor" at your marquee event. Frankly, it's like having one of the bridesmaids kiss the groom.

Well I think it's pretty well-established most of us are taking out of our derrières here. Not just in this thread either. Me, I just find it odd that Candice did not get the bra in spite of her high profile for VS this year and came in here hoping to find some clarification. I've certainly read some interesting opinions on the subject, though I very much doubt any one of them is the actual "truth".

Seeing as it is marked by our very own Vampire Horde, I'm pretty sure it is a repost.

Oh, well, my computer's been down for a little while so I only skimmed the last couple pages to catch up. But even then, I just saw rationales for why Candice didn't get the bra, not anything close to proof that she was never considered. I think trying to argue she was never considered is just silly. Well the argument several people above here made is that only the contracted Angels and "veterans" are considered. And I think the only exception anyone listed to that "rule" was KK in '02.

To use a sports analogy, VS is like a team that rides a player (Candice) hard all season long but then sits that player for the entire 4th quarter of the championship game (the VSFS) to put the ball in the hands of the wily veteran & former team star instead.
