For a model just starting out in the movie industry, Transformers III would have been a godsend. Not only is it a movie that would have given her instant world-wide recognition, the requirements are such that it would have been an easy introduction into the profession. You're not incorrect in saying that the role would have required her to provide an attractive female screen presence opposite LeBoeuf. But that is a good thing. You don't want to reach too high on your first try. The worst possible idea for a model who just moved into acting is to take on a difficult dramatic role. If you don't shine immediately, you're setting yourself up for scrutiny. I always take Charlize Theron as an example of a model who took a wise path in her transition to movie-stardom. And she started out in Children of the Corn III.

I hope you have something better than "blond hair, blue eyes, decent ass" for the Playboy equivalence. Because I see women on the street who match that description every single day. Candice is far removed from the image I associate with playboy to be honest. I don't see how you can make that link unless you seek to make it.

Well if we are talking Candice, I do think the "half a dozen poses" thing is starting to become a problem... It's almost a joke now when you go through new VS pictures of her. "Oh that pose again. And that one..." Is this laziness on their part or is it some weird conscious decision?

I'm not saying anyone is wrong, but the people who dislike Adriana used to give her overexposure as one of the reasons. Seems like the same is happening to Candice now. I can understand the resentment, even I think they've used her a bit much this last year and I'm a fan of hers.

As for the Candice and Adriana hate, I think there are many similarities between the two. It all has to do with overexposure. Any models weakness will start to stand out like a sore thumb if the same model is paraded along over and over again. I don't think Candi and Adri are necessarily worse than their VS peers, it's just that they are overused.

Having just looked at some old VS print work in the Daniela Pestova thread, a trend emerges. The basic mold of the VS girl has changed. The used to be "womenly" (Pestova, Casta, Klum, Banks). Nowadays they have a look I'd describe more as "girly". Even the older ones like Lima have a more girlish look. With other VS girls like Candice and Miranda, this is possibly even more pronounced. I don't understand all of the Candice hate. It annoys me as well that they make her go through the same twelve poses over and over again. But in terms of her being a spokesmodel, I enjoy her a lot more than Lima. Her speaking voice is a lot more pleasing on the ears than Lima's. And sure, she goes back to platitudes and scripted remarks a lot. But which VS girl - apart from Heidi Klum and maybe Marisa Miller - had a personality that lent it self to improvisation?

One thing that stands out - not just about her - when you see that old VS print work is how the VS girls have changed. They used to be more womanly, now the majority is more girly in appearance, even the "older" ones like Lima.

So easy to forgot just how scorching hot she was at her apex!
