  1. Does anyone have a link to the video those gifs come from?
  2. Well that is the thing, I would be able to forgive Argentina's cynical, defensive tactics if it was true that Messi is all they have. But even with Di Maria out and Aguero not fully fit, they still have so much attacking talent besides Messi that it is embarrassing how defensive and cautious they play. At least Brazil has the excuse that - besides Neymar - they had absolute shit playing up front at this tournament.
  3. Apparently no one else wanted to take the first one. Which is rather odd.
  4. The problem with that penalty was that he sold it too emphatically. There was contant though, thus it was perfectly warranted for the referee to give a spot kick. But Robben will never make friends amongst neutrals with the comically theatrical way he drops to the grass at even minimal contact.
  5. I don't think that "well the other teams were just as bad" is a justification for playing pretty shit all tournament long imho. This Argentina is the worst finalist since Argentina back in 1990 in that they never truly played a great game and got through courtesy of a single goal (QFs) and penalties (semis). In fact, in that respect it's rather amazing how much this is like 1990. QFs, won a dire game by a single goal (Caniggia in 1990, Higuain now). In semis, beat a European country on penalties after a possibly even worse game (Italy in 1990, Holland now). In the final, meet the best team in the tournament (West-Germany in 1990, Germany now). Sorry, I can't agree with the notion that these are the two most deserving sides. Colombia would have deserved to be there ahead of Argentina. Even Holland at least gave us that wonderful second half vs. Spain. Argentina have only been frustrating to watch all tournament long. It's even more scandalous when you consider the individual attacking talent on the team. It's like Sabella was given the parts to build a Ferrari but decided to make a station wagon instead.
  6. Really hoping for Germany, but I doubt they will make it. It's hard for anyone to win a game if the officials are on the other teams side.
  7. Also, of course Argentina '78 was crooked. It was held in a military dictatorship FFS! That tournament should have been boycotted by all self-respecting democracies.
  8. LOL! Right, because these are the stats from a game where one side spent 90 minutes defending. We had more passes in the final third which means we spent more time trying to attack the Argentinian goal than the other way around. Those are the key words, final third. When they were already desperate for a goal. This. I honestly do not see how World Cups have much relevance in world history other than the fact that it gives us great pleasure to watch football I think the closest I ever was to having WC in my History program was the fact that Venezuela has never been in the WC lol. Also is not a secret that with FIFA money does talk ... Like their brilliant to host the 2022 in Qata. As much as I do love my football and I get excited for the WC and all, it's clear that FIFA does whatever they want. Erm... Final third is a spatial indicator. As in, the final third of the pitch. As in, the area nearest to the oppositions goal. It is not the final third of the ninety minutes.
  9. Their goal was created after a turnover in midfield when Kompany tried to carry the ball upfield. The ball then only arrived with Higuain because it was deflected off a defender. Cannot really plan for that part.
  10. LOL! Right, because these are the stats from a game where one side spent 90 minutes defending. We had more passes in the final third which means we spent more time trying to attack the Argentinian goal than the other way around.
  11. The biggest disappointment was the fact that - once again - it was made apparent that this Argentina aren't that great. I think we could have won that game with a better tactical set-up. I don't expect them to win the WC, either Holland or Brazil/Germany will prove too much.
  12. Well yeah, but the damage has already been done. Same with Croatia, didn't help them much that the Japanese ref who gave that ghost penalty to Brazil was not awarded another game.
  13. I truly hope Brazil gets battered by Germany now. Shameful behavior vs. Colombia. If I had been James Rodriguez and I had been kicked around for ninety minutes, I would have told Luiz and Alves to fuck off after the game. "Consoling" him after they had spent the entire game trying to injure him. Now that James Rodriguez is gone, this is my favorite remaining WC protagonist.
  14. Bar with a Brazil shirt = buzzkill. But the lingerie shots make up for it, thankfully.
  15. That grasshopper was huge! Worst refereeing performance I have seen since... I guess WC 2006, the Portugal-Holland game. Only that guy ruined the game by giving out too many fouls. Yesterday was the exact opposite of that. It's hard not to think that something nefarious was going on to get Brazil in the semis. Perception is reality in these things and it is the job of the governing body to make sure such a perception does not arise.
  16. We'll need a few more open games than the one we saw earlier today to do that!
  17. Annie's Boobs!
  18. Underwhelming game. Much of it was played at a glacial pace compared to some of the round of 16 and first round games. Please, please, please let Colombia-Brazil live up to the hype!
  19. I don't know, perhaps I just didn't study them in enough detail before.
  20. Do her tatas look...different?
  21. Okay. Do think we are a bit underrated in that game though.
  22. This is already our second most successful World Cup ever. If we could, by some miracle, defeat Argentina then we would match our best ever showing.
  23. The main problem is the total lack of creativity in the middle of the park. Really no more than one of Fernandinho, Luiz Gustavo and Paulinho should be starting at the same time. Not all three at the same time!
  24. I think she is gorgeous personally. Wouldn't mind seeing her in SISE. Though I doubt she will be featuring with her body as it is presented in Pretty's pictures. Weren't there some instagram pictures of her recently where she had been working out to shed some weight?
