  1. Hannah looks like a million bucks! Ariel... I actually don't mind if the girls have a couple of pounds extra, but she has obviously taken it a bit too far for a model. Even if you are going plus-size, you should still aspire to control your shape and have some definition. Based on those pictures, you'd have to believe she just let the reins go completely?
  2. Her body is out of this world.
  3. Damn, she has an amazing chest.
  4. Mah Nins!
  5. Yes, happy Thanksgiving to the American BZ members! Unfortunately there will be no mini-Thanksgiving Euro-style for me as I'll be working late and then probably have just about enough energy left for a quick dinner and then collapsing into bed.
  6. Meh, I hope Upton enjoys doing whatever she likes.
  7. Doutzen is hot, but from several interviews I've seen with her on Dutch TV, she isn't the sharpest tool in the shed. So there is a good chance she has no clue as to the significance of that song.
  8. Isn't he gay? Nobody's that gay. I'll get me coat now.
  9. Honestly I don't really care about the public persona of models. It's all about the way they perform on camera and on the runway for me. Most of their public personas are major BS anyway, so what does it matter if they pretend to be nice or bitchy? I guess it's fun if you are a fan and they treat you nice, but you are fooling yourself somewhat if you take this to mean anything about their personalities (either way). If I'm being honest, I actually appreciate it most when models are completely honest about stuff, but they tend to be so ostracized for doing that. So it rarely happens. e.g. Jessica Hart getting grief for saying that regular dudes should stay the fuck away if/when they spot a (famous) model at a bar. I'm fairly convinced 99% of her peers feel the same. Yet none of them would ever admit to as much, which is why I refuse to judge any of them on the thin layer of fakeness they surround themselves with in public. I don't blame them for their fake public persona's BTW, I would do exactly the same if I were under such scrutiny and living under a spotlight.
  10. Hmmm, only one outfit for Bregje? And Taylor as well.
  11. BTW, Karlie and Taylor are hardly unique in their friendship leading to wild speculations. Remember when Pitch Perfect was released and everyone was shipping Anna Kendrick and Brittany Snow?
  12. If Karlie and Taylor make each other happy then good for them. If they are indeed an item I'm sure they will make it public if/when they feel comfortable doing so.
  13. Things that didn't exist yet when Adri walked her first VSFS: Youtube The iPod (remember those?) Peter Jacksons LotR's adaptations Daft Punks "Discovery" Windows XP The concept of an internet "meme"
  14. I'll be in my bunk...
  15. I quite like this bit from Tina Fey's book about this very subject. When I was writing the movie Mean Girls—which hopefully is playing on TBS right now!—I went to a workshop taught by Rosalind Wiseman as part of my research. Rosalind wrote the nonfiction book Queen Bees and Wannabes that Mean Girls was based on, and she conducted a lot of self-esteem and bullying workshops with women and girls around the country. She did this particular exercise in a hotel ballroom in Washington, D.C. with about two hundred grown women, asking them to write down the moment they first “knew they were a woman.” Meaning, “When did you first feel like a grown woman and not a girl?” We wrote down our answers and shared them, first in pairs, then in larger groups. The group of women was racially and economically diverse, but the answers had a very similar theme. Almost everyone first realized they were becoming a grown woman when some dude did something nasty to them. “I was walking home from ballet and a guy in a car yelled, ‘Lick me!’” “I was babysitting my younger cousins when a guy drove by and yelled, ‘Nice ass.’” There were pretty much zero examples like “I first knew I was a woman when my mother and father took me out to dinner to celebrate my success on the debate team.” It was mostly men yelling shit from cars. Are they a patrol sent out to let girls know they’ve crossed into puberty? If so, it’s working.
  16. Yes, I get what you're saying and I have to agree with you In any case, this isn't limited to pop stars. As you are a woman yourself, I probably don't have to tell you that young women are sexualized by the media all over the world. Hence why so many female high-schoolers are subjected to crap like street harassment even though they are minors.
  17. Fair enough, but from my perspective, there isn't that much of a difference between the kind of image Ariana is portraying now and Britney was portraying in the late 90s.
  18. Uhm... maybe Bieber was younger than her when he performed at the VSFS? I'm the same age as Britney so I was in HS when she got her break. Her sexualizing was definitely a theme at the time, same with Christina.
  19. I don't know her very well, what other than her voice disturbs you? The fact that she looks like a fifteen years old girl and try to act like a bombshell. Ew. And I can't stand her hair LOL Sorry Ariana's fans. That has been the playbook for teenaged pop stars since even before Britney and Christina.
  20. I don't know her very well, what other than her voice disturbs you?
  21. The second look is really cute on her.
  22. I ship Kaylor! Or is it Tarlie?
  23. Taylor and Karlie frenching on the runway might make Karlie instantly interesting!
  24. Wait, Karlie is 1m87? If so, she has me intrigued for the first time ever (I like tall girls and that would make her a hair taller than I am).
