  1. To be honest I don't really care that much about the racially diverse casting. I actually like a few of those actors. Like the ones who play Fringilla and Phillipa Earhart. I was more amused by a show that is obviously proud of its racially diverse cast primarily just having white and black cast members. That is not that diverse. And how many people even know Anya is half-Asian through her dad?
  2. Laura Vandervoort? I don' think they really look alike to be honest.
  3. Kristina Pimenova Maya Norman Jolee Gilmore Avry Justis
  4. I thought about the racially diverse casting for the sorceresses and I suddenly realized it isn't that racially diverse after all. Lauren Hissrich cast mostly white and black actresses in those roles, with Anya Chalotra part Asian (her father is Indian). But there aren't really any other Asian actresses in those roles, nor Hispanic.

  6. I liked Cavill. I certainly don't think Liam Hemsworth will be an upgrade.
  7. Finished the first five episodes of The Witcher season three. It's just not very good. The writing is occasionally dire. But what stands out most is the fact that it all looks a bit cheaper than before (sets/costumes). Pretty clear that Netflix is no longer spending as much money on this as they once had. I think I might be done after this season, not sure if I'm interested in seeing more of this if Cavill isn't even on the show anymore.
  8. Phoebe won't be playing Lara, she is showrunning and writing the show.
  9. What do you mean, it is already happening in some of the cities (Brussels amongst them) and it has happened in the past as well. Just last November there were riots in Brussels after the Belgium-Morocco WC game.
  10. No idea how it is in the U.S. but the French riots lead every news report here. So the whole idea of the mainstream media hiding this from us is definitely not applicable to every country.
  11. All of the options in this piece are horrendous! I like most of those actresses, some of them a lot, but all of them are totally wrong for Lara Croft. https://gamerant.com/tomb-raider-amazon-tv-series-lara-croft-possible-actors/ They need to find someone who fits the role, not just the biggest name they can attach to the project. I'd rather get a British actress I have never even heard of but who fits the role both in terms of how she looks and what she sounds like than a big star.
  12. Phoebe Waller-Bridge gets to do a Tomb Raider series for Amazon. I hope she doesn't make it very ironic/tongue-in-cheek. It can be funny of course, there always have been elements of humor in the franchise. But she needs to take the serious stuff seriously. Of course more than perhaps the writing this is something that will stand or fall with the casting. I don't they have ever gotten it right. I didn't like Jolie at the time in that role. Nor did I think Alicia Vikander was right either. I think my favorite interpretation so far - in terms of voice work anyway - was Camilla Luddington. And at one time at least, she would have been a good option for alive action version. But she turns 40 this December and thus probably too old.
  13. It's not terrible. Just feels incredibly slow somehow. Also, it's clear that Henry Cavill was no longer enjoying the show. I do think Anya Chalotra is now finally 100% comfortable playing Yen, so there is that.
  14. Entire thing ends up looking like a massive miscalculation by Prizoghin.
  15. Watched the first two episodes of the new Witcher season. I can't say I'm hugely impressed so far. Also, did they change a lot in the costuming department? A lot of the stuff is looking way too modern for a medieval era style fantasy show.
  16. Maya Norman Jolee Gilmore These choices are getting really difficult! 😅
