  1. Actually the bondage club analogy is perfect. Terry is known for a specific type of shoot, it's generally very racy/sexual and pushes the limits of good taste quite frequently. That isn't necessarily his fault, because that is what sells. So if you're going to blame him you might as well start blaming society for buying it. Now, going back to the bondage club reference, it's a very similar situation. These girls, are booked by their agency to go and do a shoot, they can at any time decline, (yes this may have a detrimental effect on their career, but that is the business). In accepting this shoot, they are going into the situation with the expectation that this may push them outside of their comfort zone. Sometimes, I don't doubt that they are pushed a little bit to hard, but it comes down to the agent knowing their girl, and the girl saying no. I think a lot of what happens, is they come back from the shoot and dwell on what happened. Upon dwelling, they come to the conclusion that they didn't like what happened, and so jump on the idea that they were sexually molested, harassed and/or abused. As for the "idea" and that's what it is, (as there has been absolutely no proof beyond hearsay) that Terry grooms his assistants, there is almost no way that over the course of at minimum a decade not one person who has seen this quote on quote abuse hasn't had a crisis of conscious and corroborated with one of the "victims". I think the main issue here, is that after the first allegation Terry probably just paid off the girl, because rumors and accusations can kill a career incredibly fast, (there's no better press then bad press after all ) and what happened is a bunch of other people jumped on the bandwagon to get a pay out. As for these lawsuits that he allegedly lost in regards to the sexual harassment/abuse if that was in fact the case then you would be able to look him up on the sex offender's database of the United States and he is currently not listed. So either there was never a lawsuit, or he was never found guilty. So someone is lying hmm... who dun it? Regardless, enough of this damn topic, seriously, someone stating they want to see her work with a photographer does not mean you need to start a witch hunt about how bad a of a person said photographer is. If you don't like them then that's fine but seriously, this is about on the same level as the feminism debate. Absolute drivel, he said she said blame games, and a whole bunch of personal opinions thrown out as fact. Moving on back to Alex, I'm still absolutely fascinated with the fact that the bra was able to contain the girls, seriously must look into one for myself.
  2. Looks like Charlotte has the same problem.
  3. Yes, but it's still going on.... it's almost a year later!
  4. I am so sick of hearing about the British Invasion, clearly no one knows their history or are willing to read up on it. It's nothing to do with the Queen of England, nor was it even remotely a take on any of her outfits. It's an old English tradition that the "lower" classes used to do. Just give it up. It's irritating.
  5. It's not that the woman looks inherently cheap, the makeup and lighting obviously do factor into it. It's also something in the way a woman carries herself, and in the way she holds her face/expression. There's a way to pose for a woman's magazine, a men's magazine and an "adult" magazine, and some girls skip the the first and lean more towards the latter two. There's nothing wrong with that, there's artistic merit in all three, but I think that's what people are trying to touch base on. She's a pretty enough girl, not my cup of tea, but definitely not ugly by any stretch, however I don't necessarily think she would sell very well to women. And SI is trying to target a female audience as well as the men. Yes they are promoting swimwear, however in recent years there's been a very obvious trend showcasing a growing female audience who is buying the magazine. So, while they still want to show case the female body, they have to some extent been moving away from models who would be better of gracing the pages of just men's magazine's, (FHM, GQ, and some of the racier sets) and trying for a more neutral approach. It's been obvious that they've been looking at all of this from a marketing perspective, cheaper swimwear interspersed amongst the magazine, a section specifically for Target, a notorious "middle class" seller. It's not just about tits and ass anymore, it's also about the curb appeal so to speak. So while Charlotte has a knockout body, her face definitely leaves something to be desired. It's not a 'post it' per say, but there is a very good chance that it would turn off their growing female audience. Emilly R was close to that with some of her images last year, they did something to her face with the makeup and she looked more porn star then model, which shouldn't have been the case, because she can photograph beautifully. I think at this point, they're trying to find a balance between men and women's taste, finding a group of girls who appeals to both sides of the American public. Hence the swing to high fashion models, (who are generally acceptable to women) interposed with busty blondes with relatively cute faces, who have for years been the go to for men around America.
  6. Her body is better then Upton's no question about that, dunno if I can agree with it being better then Alex. However neither of those girls look like they would grace the folds of Playboy either. There's nothing wrong with Playboy, but it's a whole different ballgame then a fashion magazine. And when I say Playboy I mean American Playboy, not the fancy fashionista Playboy's from France and what not.
  7. Since when did it become a hipster thing to dislike "frisco"? LOL I grew up here, my family has been in SF for the better part of 200 years, no local would be caught dead calling the city "frisco"! Because the whole "my family has been here for over 200 years" doesn't sound like a snobbish thing to say at all. Sniffing farts doesn't make you cool, it just makes you weird. Do you even understand the words you're using? I'm not sure you understand what snobbish means... Oh I understand the words I was using, and I understand the context it was used and I will stand by it. You seemed to feel that because your family has lived there for x amount of time, that you are right about everything pertaining to the area and it's colloquialisms . Condescending, overbearing, conceited.... snob. That about sums it up, with nice pretty words As for the new blonde, pass. First there was Marisa, then there was Samantha, now there's the cheap version of Samantha. No thank you.

  9. It's not unheard of for models to be given multiple locations. Just saying...

  11. However, in a down turned economy, it's cheaper to take a vacation in the country then to go elsewhere. Buy America so to speak. So it would make perfect sense, financially and otherwise to market vacations that are financially responsible. America has some great locations, that are often overlooked in the face of white beaches and blue water in countries that are nothing more then tourist traps. Not to mention, if a guy is looking at the beaches or rock formations in the background, over the tits and ass either the model is doing something wrong, or the guy may be swinging for the other team.
  12. I played sports(basketball, volleyball and field hockey), I was in band, (played the clarinet, oboe and saxophone) and was in art. Oh I was also briefly a cheer leader. I wouldn't call myself a sporty nerd by any stretch of the imagination. This whole concept of a sporty nerd is relatively new, and it is 100% hipster as they call it. It's cool to be nerdy now, hence why all these new "interviews" are peppered with girls who were sporty nerds. If you look up the definition of a nerd it clearly states "an intelligent but single-minded person obsessed with a nonsocial hobby or pursuit" which in itself negates the idea that sporty and nerd go hand in hand. Most nerds have some type of socialization problems. Most "nerds" will devote 40+ hours to a hobby, whether it's learning elvish as you said, or computer programming, or gaming, (computer/board/tabletop games). Doing science fairs doesn't make you a nerd, it means that you were semi intelligent. Oh yea, and you took part in school. GG. Here, a silly little song put out that is a little ridiculous but highlights some of the clear disparities between the "sporty" people and the "nerds"
  13. Are you trying to insult Americans? Because you're doing a pretty damn good job. They're showing iconic locations, not idiotic stereotypes. If that was the case they better get the red cup in their too... The above comment isn't even funny. If you don't like America and what they represent stop buying their products, stop watching their shit, get out of this thread because it's for an American magazine.. Making jabs at America opens the door to making jabs at Canada.. and we all know where that goes don't we eh?
  14. No Twilight Sparkle for you hooker!
  15. Liked that documentary... loves the music. That's not country.. that's something that is completely different.. so before you comment shut your face or I wont send you presents.. or candy.
  16. When's Chris heading back home? btw, now I have that fucking song stuck in my head.. and no it's not the one posted above So much sadness here, I don't particularly care for country.
  17. You know MJ and co could post as much as they want, on as staggered a schedule as they want, but the real killer for them is the twitter/instagram silence on the girls shooting for them. All it takes is one person being a fan of some random model and noticing her twitter silence and flags are raised. These girls all post on a regular basis, the lack of them is more noticeable then some some random silly picture of a cactus, or a plate of food. They make it incredibly easy to track who's m.i.a ie on a secret shoot, and who's not.
  18. Because she's edgy? Like Marloes, Bregje and Valerie... so edgy, so amazing. They'll either capitalize on the edginess, or her mouth will always be closed.
  19. Btw loving the new Taylor pics, hopefully VS doesn't draw out the crazies :|
  20. Scientifically speaking we are technically all animals, and "rape culture" is used to blame a lot that is simply "human nature". I'm not saying that it's good, but some of it isn't just conditioning, it's the so called "nature of the beast" So I will stand by the meat analogy. As for feminism doing a huge blame game, or not as you seem to believe I think you need to get out and talk to some so called "feminists". Going to some of their rallies, meetings and talking to them behind the scenes literally leads to more male bashing then it does to constructive work, especially when you start to look at the younger generation of feminists. Like I said, I think the whole idea of feminism is a great one, but I think the message got lost for a lot of people. Seriously though, think about a hot guy walking down the street in a pair of board shorts. They get whistles, cat calls, "good natured ribbing" from girls, and most people will see nothing wrong with it. Hell I've watched women be a part of the so called "bun police" and literally grope men in such a fashion that if it were a guy doing it to a girl it would be called sexual harassment, but again most people wont see a problem. Or look at male strippers versus female strippers. There's a lot of rules and safeguards put in place for female strippers, the predominant one being "don't touch". I've talked to numerous male strippers and not only is that rule not put in place for the majority of them, if it is it's not enforced. We're talking bruising, from pinching, slapping, over zealous groping. Women literally turn into a bunch of wild animals at some bachlorette parties, but many feminists will overlook the clear double standards. This is like the whole idea of domestic abuse. How long did it take for people to sit back and realize it's not always the man that is the abuser? Hell to this day a lot of people refuse to acknowledge that women can be just as much an "animal" as a man. When I worked with abuse victims, there was for the longest time absolutely no safeguards, or security nets put in for male abuse victims, it's not like they could be brought to the same facility as the female abuse victims. So forgive me if I disagree with the whole "rape culture" theory. Especially when it's only being directed to umbrella a woman's protection. If you read the article from Alexandria and read the top comment afterwards I think that spells it out. Most people who are going to rape another don't give a shit what you're wearing, or how you're acting. They take advantage of the victim, or what's easiest for them to get. Opportune exploitation. Cat calls and whistles or mans way of saying "I like" not "I want to rape". Part of the whole issue now a days is everyone is so obsessed with the idea of political correctness, and staying in these pretty little boxes of self containment that if you step outside of it it's being put into a blanket category, "in this case part of rape culture". Society in this day and age sees women as the victims, and men as the clear cut abusers. Oh, and on the topic of "reverse racism" obviously I know it's not a "real thing". It's a term that was mockingly said when it comes to racism that is directed at a Caucasian person. Because clearly only "minorities" can be the victims of racism, and historically speaking white people have always been the abusers. Racism is racism, it doesn't matter what culture, color or religious background someone has. If you call a black person a , it's no different then if you call a white person a , but most people will jump on the bandwagon of the oppressed black man versus the white man. Again it comes down to a massive double standard. Either way you look at it it's wrong. Sadly "absolute power" does corrupt, and in a historical sense a lot of white people have had "absolute power" throughout history, at least the history that is most well known.
  21. Heels were actually created initially for men. As for that whole argument, I don't necessarily think that men are strictly at fault, (in the case of catcalls, whistles or general voices of appreciation) but the onus of rape definitely falls on the perpetrator not the victim. In some ways walking around dressed in scanty clothing is similar to throwing a piece of meat in front of an animal. You don't get mad when they sniff it, or show interest because it smells good. Personally I think feminism is great, but it's quite often taken overboard where there is no accountability for the woman, and the blame for everything is solely placed on the man. Kinda like reverse racism. I mean, has anyone seen women when it comes to male strippers?
