Sex sells, there's no denying that, but that doesn't mean the song was a work of literary genius. The song never received universal praise, it was controversial and so people took notice. Because people took notice he was booked for shows and was talked about, which can to some be construed as popular, it's not. Bad press is bad press, but it sells records. I truly am sorry that you can't see that, but if you feel that the song was a step forward, or even positive then I really don't know what to say to you.

Yes, I want to punish her for doing what she did. That's a rather silly statement as all I said was that she was made famous for parading around naked, which isn't exactly the most classy endeavor. Not to mention it wasn't even done in an "artistic" fashion. The video was touted as being incrediby derogatory towards woman, and sexist on top of it. To make her look classy would have taken away the integral points of what made her "famous". Just because you're given the "honor" of being in the SI swimsuit issue doesn't mean a damn thing. There were 12 rookies, obvious point there was some filler models being thrown in because of their 15 minutes. Nothing wrong with that, and I hope it does something for their career, but the point remains they aren't going to change the shoot to something that doesn't cater to their target audiences. Point in case Bregje, she is incredibly high fashion and was marketed as such. It was a bit of a miss, why would they change it up for Emily and make her something she's not? They look pretty obviously fake to me. They are completely uneven and misshapen. The rest of her proportions are really unattractive to me too. The fact that she's been mentioned in the same sentence as Marisa Miller - even if preceded by "a poor man's" - makes me throw up in my mouth a little Nudity <-

So... this is why Kate got the back cover, because as much as MJ loves Chrissy, and as much as this forum thinks Nina is perfect, and as much as people want the VS angels to be relevant.... this is what the rest of the world thinks of all of the above in terms of search popularity. And please keep in mind Google is currently the most used search provider in the world, so... again.

Admittedly I'm not an expert on boobs, fake or real but I didn't think her's looked off. Nor did I think she had the worst body of the issue. o.0

IMO, its less about Emily’s face, which I like as well, and more about how SI shot her. No effort was made to make her look classy/sexy at all. Picking right up from blurred lines, SI put her in the body paint and some skimpy swim wear, giving her an appearance of being cheap. Big mistake and a waste of her considerable assets.

If Bregje can do SI, I think Magda can too. With the right styling she could definitely pull it off!

... yes sorry, missed a bit of punctuation. Adriana has the same attitude that she had when she was in her early 20's. The same attitude that Chanel is literally filleted over... and yet it's acceptable. Chanel being younger at least as the excuse of immaturity due to her age.. Whereas Adriana acts the same way, or similar and is in her thirties so there's no excuse anymore.

I truly don't know why everyone dislikes Chanel so much. I've heard numerous people state it's due to her attitude, but I don't find her a whole lot different then let's say Adriana. And at least Chanel has her age to cut her a bit of slack, Adriana still acts the same way as someone in their thirties.

I'll stand by they could have done without half the rookies, but I guess when you're looking for new blood.. I wouldn't be surprised to see some of the "older" models we've had for a few years phased out.

I don't necessarily see them having fully dropped the "Carl becomes a full-blow psychopath" storyline at all. It's not like someone just flips a switch and he goes crazy, it's a slow gradual progression and you can already see bits and pieces of it coming together. He's becoming a very troubled youth and as he grows more into himself and becomes more self-reliant I can see that progressing further. Even psychopaths have ties and emotions towards people around them.

This cover is a bit of a joke, and I wouldn't be surprised if sales tanked. Chances are VS pushed/paid for Lily to be on the cover and MJ saw her chance to put Chrissy on the cover which she never would have gotten otherwise, and Nina just happened to be at the right place with the right people. Let's be realistic here, last year they went where no fashion shoot, let alone swimsuit shoot has ever gone. Antarctica. This year, instead of finding some way to top it as it is their 50th year anniversary, they take a step back and give us a cover that could literally grace the cover of a springbreakers girls gone wild sans the sex appeal. I'm not saying Kate should have gotten the cover, but this literally looks like a last minute decision. A little known photographer, three girls who don't have the marketablility as some of the other veterans do, or hell even some of the other rookies Emily R anyone?. And as happy as you guys seem to be that Chrissy looks bad, (Ie not looking at the camera) it show just how much of a last minute decision this was, or just how bad of an editing team the magazine has now. I don't really care one way or the other, but it'll be interesting to see who comes back next year and who doesn't.

Actually Heidi openly talked about her "body clause" that she broke when she was pregnant. Not to mention, if you are signing on for a job that requires a certain physique then yes, any type of clause can be worked into the contract. Both parties sign it knowingly. It's not like Doutzen, or Adriana, or Alessandra, or any other girl who gets pregnant can be used to market lingerie or swimwear, (not any of the current VS lines). Another case of having a body clause is Baywatch Both American companies/productions, both banking their money on having girls who fit a certain mold/stereotype. So chances are whenever one of these girls gets pregnant they have money knocked off their contract, or the company can choose to overlook the clause, which they may very well do as they have a fairly strong working relationship with the majority of their contract models. But in the end, it's still money out of their pocket if the girls are breaching contract. Also, I believe I can recall when Candice came under fire by the media for being to slim the company in essence told her to gain weight as it wasn't deemed good publicity or the correct marketing path. If there wasn't a contractual clause they quite probably wouldn't have said anything.

Hardly unethical or against the law. Chances are she signed a body clause in her contract, which she is directly going against by becoming pregnant. However the company has obviously in previous years overlooked that and been more then happy to work with their angels that have become pregnant. Regardless, if her contract is up it wont matter if she's pregnant or not as VS contracts have in the past been based on a period of time not on hours worked. So if her contract was set to expire in 2014 they would have to sit down and renegotiate a longer contract, or choose to not renew. If they choose not to sign another contract there are no legal ramifications as her pregnancy has nothing to do with the expiration of the previous contract.

Just to point out for those of you who don't understand why that Kathy cover is in number 1 spot, it was the top selling issue for SI Swim, Kate's cover being second last I heard, though that may or may not have changed. So I'm not quite sure why it's such a big surprise. The top 3 covers were pretty self explanatory. Top selling issue, (Kathy) Antarctica, (Kate) First African American to grace the cover, (Tyra) Elle and Christie 6 and 4 respectively being the only two cover girls to grace it 3 times back to back to back. Heidi is well Heidi... nothing springing to mind atm. It's not rocket science, and for the most part it all makes sense. They're SI historical landmarks so to speak. Cheryl again had 3 covers, none of which were group shots which is where Daniela fell short as her 3rd cover was the 2006 group shot. As for Brooklyn, Rebecca and Marisa they were decent covers.
