  2. You are aware that Emily Ratajkowski isn't English? She was born to two American parents while in England. That does not give her British citizenship, she's still an American citizen, with the added possibility of dual citizenship, though even that is not a guarantee. https://americansabroad.org/issues/citizenship/citizenship-requirements-faqs/ I am so tired of people marking her as English/British.
  3. Makeup all the girls are wearing, hair where some of the girls have extensions and others basically have street hair, not making idiotic faces? factor out almost half the models, and outfits? So what you factor in 3 for some girls and 1 for others? So some girls get more pictures then others, or how would that work?

  6. Thank you WishingWell for that, the show looks interesting, I'm actually quite curious to see what the difference from that to the final cut will be. As for what Pretty and a few other's seconded, and obviously other's disagreed with I can only say that in the past I have expressed a very similar thought to Prettyphile. Shanina is an absolutely stunning girl, there is no question about it, but her work always seems to be lacking to me. It's not that they are bad pictures, or that they aren't diverse, it's that they come across as flat to me. It's like a lifeless work of still artwork. Something is missing in her eyes. Maybe her personality just doesn't transfer through the camera, but for whatever reason I'm always more thrilled to see her in video then I am to see her print work. But as Pretty pointed out Amazing, this is a fashion forum, not a fan forum. If you don't want to see diverse opinions, or comments that do nothing but praise her body of work and herself then perhaps you should go to a fan forum specifically for Shanina.
  7. Spoilers people, spoilers...
  8. I kinda liked it.. not gonna lie....
  9. Actually Christian was 27 in the books. Sean is 25 and Jamie is 32. So... either or would have fit. Chances are it was more acting chops, then looks that booked Jamie the role, but either way it should be interesting.
  10. Thank you panda, bourbon, chocolate pecan pie and a case of wine? You in? oh and your ginger molasses cookies...
  11. Yes, they should scrap the segment that "showcases" their top selling line... makes perfect sense.
  12. I am so sick of this, tbh. Just because two hot, skinny girls like baking cakes together, braiding each other's hair and licking each other's vaginas does not make them lesbians, OK? Well, something about them does seem to be a bit warmer than friendship so i don't blame people who think so Nope ^^ is pretty much normal for a soul-mate best friend. Pheno and I are like this Both of us have a place in each other's homes (bedrooms), we hug, we kisses, we hold hands and yet I'm still happily married for 13 years and been with the guy for 15. Pheno is such a big part of my life that my husband looks at her as a second wife Leave the friends be, and if they experiment with a little rug on rug action and decide it's not for them but wanna remain besties, so be it. you Whitercakes miss Muffin Tuffin. Awwa panda!!! You know I you! And I concur, everyone needs to stop jumping to conclusions about someones relationship based on speculation and a few images. It doesn't necessarily mean anything, though I'm pretty sure most people think we do have a slightly lesbianic relationship.... we haven't gone there yet panda, we haven't done it yet pandacakes!
  13. However, those are wings that are going to be in the show, or they are almost an identical copy of some we've seen. They look as stiff in motion as they did on the mannequin though, which isn't a good thing
  14. And yet when I went to Japan for the first time in high-school I was considered exotic, (and was told so on a very regular basis), being white and having red hair at the time. As for exotic traveler, the article that came out talking about their inspiration sources stated the segment had Mongolian, Asian and Indian influences, so it's really only exploring one corner of the world. Though even if they only took the colors and shapes that some of their traditional garb has it should translate beautifully.
  15. omg that's beyond adorable!
  16. Casting certain girls for certain outfits or segments because they suit said outfits or segments does not make them racist, nor does it necessarily mean they are stereotyping them, and that is the point. Certain colors look better on different skin tones. Prints look different on different body types, and VS does to some degree, (with various levels of success) try to make each segment in their show, (by year) have a different feel to it. But in reference to the original statement, out of the 4 "ethnic girls" from wild things, 2 of them walked in other segments as well. Liu and Lais both has second outfits. Selita and Emanuela did not. However that was Selita's last year and Emanuela only received one outfit the following year as well, though to be fair Emanuela's outfit in Wild Things did make me blink a little and shake my head.
  17. Everyone is ethnic, more obviously to individuals who are not part of their "ethnic group", but for the sake of the debate at that point, I simply belabored the point that lumping the Brazilians into the "Caucasian group" was to some extent incorrect. Personally I do consider them ethnic, hence why they were initially used in the argument. Brazilians had been spread throughout the show, clearly being of a different ethnic background then the quote on quote white girls and yet it was discounted because they are not for lack of a better rationale dark enough to be considered ethnic to some people.
  18. That's like saying all Latino's are the same, or that all Black people are the same. And if you scroll up to the top of the page I addressed the issue of VS not being racially diverse, it's a symptom of the industry they are in, not necessarily of them in itself. I'm tired of the argument that blond haired blue eyed girls all look the same. That white people regardless of the region they are from are all similar. Irish people look different then Russian's. Italians look different then Swedish people, etc, etc, etc. And on top of that I'm tired of the old adage that makes it okay for people to call Caucasian or people of European descent white, but if you say someone is black, or yellow or red, (all descriptions of the undertones of their skin color) it's racist. Regardless, the point I was making, that has been deviated from slightly is that just because 4 girls of color are in a segment does not mean that the company is being racist. No one is taking into consideration color palettes, pattern/prints and what they look good on.
  19. My definition of ethnic follows Websters pretty damn closely. I don't know about the rest of you, but I try and use words literally, not by what I want them to mean. Every region of the world is filled with different ethnic groups. To insinuate that being white/eastern european/caucasion doesn't make you ethnic is incorrect, but it's very common misconception. Guess it goes with that whole "reverse racism" issue.
  20. If that's what you want to believe. I'm tired of everyone looking for an ulterior or racist motive for everything. If they purposely left said ethnic models out of a segment that can have a racial bent then it's just as quote on quote racist as having included them. Nobody will every be satisfied by the issue, so to each their own.
  21. Yes, the modeling industry still has a huge bias towards Caucasian models, thankfully it's diversifying but the fact remains that VS is no different then the rest of the industry it's a part of. It's a slow gradual shift, but it is happening. Unfortunately with any segment that has a racial bent if they put more then 3 ethnic girls in the segment it's automatically considered racist. On that same note any of the Brazilians can be considered ethnic, and they are clearly spread throughout the shows. I think you're looking for more of an issue then there really is. There were 7-9 other girls who are considered ethnic, (IE. not Caucasian, not eastern European) and yet they are factored out of the equation because what? They aren't black, or Asian? When you look for a problem you will generally find a problem it doesn't mean it's actually there.
  22. It will ... Wild Things Country girls VS loves 'em stereotypes, just look at Birds of Paradise and Snow Angels last yer, one is full of non-white models and the other is full of blondes and white models, same for Dangerous in 2008 4 out of 11 doesn't make a trend. As for the Country Girls... VS has always had a tendency towards Caucasian models. Yes, they've recently started introducing more ethnic diversity, but of course most segments are going to lean towards the largest group of girls, which so happens to be white. So having a bunch them out them in obviously stereotyped white segment doesn't mean a whole lot. I get where you're trying to go, but I think you're reaching a little to hard for an issue hun.
  23. Bailey's caramel pecan fudge or white chocolate caramel pecan fudge swirl? Ooh or salted caramel fudge?
