I wasn't talking about Elsa specifically, just responding to bump's question about models with those accomplishments.

I'm sure that Elsa will remain in demand for a long time. She's a very special model. And I totally agree about her doing a YouTube channel, that would be fantastic. Honestly, I think it's likely to be extremely uncommon for a model to make a name for herself to the extend of being on the cover of Vogue, to then work a more normal job after. I'm sure that's more likely for catalogue models or ones that got some work but had a lower profile. The vast majority of models do have a shelf life but knowing that I'm sure many prepare for life after modelling by saving their money or getting an education etc. Some also are married to wealthy partners and that gives them freedom from having to worry about money after their modelling career ends.

This is a really interesting question and something I've been wondering too. In another thread someone recently referred to Doutzen as an "older model" and that she still gets high profile campaigns etc. While Elsa doesn't have the fame or name recognition of Adriana or other high profile ex VS models, she's an incredibly striking woman who I'm guessing would be in big demand for a while yet. But as we've seen many models transition into other careers as well, although often they were the very high profile names who were mainstream celebrities.

Well having Taylor performing (twice?) also overshadowed the actual models. Plus, they brought Karlie back in 2017 when she was otherwise done with VS. I think the Bella incident allegedly happened in 2018?

Yes, exactly Clauds! I'd love to know what the VS Angels at the time really thought about Kendall and the Hadid girls being promoted over them.

I said to someone on here not too long ago that I thought it was a mistake to bring the "nepo" girls into the VS show. Yes, they brought attention to the show, but it was at the expense of VS's own models. They should have been given that platform but instead they got overshadowed in the media coverage. So it's no surprise they aren't as big stars as previous Angels were.

What she said was pretty tone deaf but let's be honest, there's not too many faces out there like Doutzen's. I don't see the industry shunning her over a mistake like this.

That's a fair assessment. I suppose the other point is that Karlie is really well connected, many models wouldn't have the money or connections to launch something like a coding school. I guess there is also an element of the media going overboard with praise any time a model shows that they are in some way multi-faceted, like this is some big revelation. My understanding is that stylists provide options and advice but that the client would ultimately decide what they like and will wear etc.

I think it will definitely be slower for a while. I imagine theres a certain amount of stuff that has been shot and is ready but some of it won't be released for a while. At least with social media, we will still get some content from our favourite models. And there's an amazing archive of pictures already on this site.
