^Grand Guignol has come to mean a kind of overly graphic and melodramatic, yet slyly amusing, bloody horror. The name comes from a Parisien theatre that specialised in this kind of play. The British Hammer studios put out a ton of these films in the '60s and '70s - lots of claret...Yes, as a taut thriller Silence is superior - but Hannibal was just more enjoyable as a cinematic experience. I suppose you should take them along the same lines as the Alien films: in that they are obviously linked but are very much different takes of the same source material, under different directors, keen to make a different film.

^They're showing up as 'negatives', i.e the reverse of the image. Yours are like that in the thumbnails and when I click on them, wendylorene's are "correct" in the thumb but negative when I open them - I'll post a thumb here, but I don't know if you're seeing what I am?!

^Really LoveBee? I'm loathe to use phrases such as 'I'm Behati's biggest fan' but surely you don't think I come in here just to poke fun at her? I'd have though any casual observer to this thread will have gathered that I'm rather fond of her... Yes, she is "very natural and charming" and that's probably why she's doing this, as you say - in fact she's so INCREDIBLY DAMN CHARMING that it won't matter one iota if she ends up turning in a respectable performance or not, and it won't stop me enjoying it on repeat viewings either. The talk so far is nowhere near harsh criticism (actually a lot of it is praise anyway), it's just gentle ribbing. Personally, I'm really looking forward to the episode - more so than the VSFS itself - as I've already said on this page...
