^^ I saw another video of him in an interview from the following day. The interviewer asked if he was feeling any better after 24 hours and he said he felt worse.
  2. Stephanie Camilla Freja (pity vote)
  3. ^^ There are going to be some bad teams in the 48-team tournament. As an example, here are a four teams which would/may have qualified if this year was a 48-team tournament: Trinidad & Tobago, Uzbekistan, UAE, Burkina Faso.
  4. I'm not good at detailed reviews because I tend to give away spoilers, which I don't want to do. I liked the movie, enjoyed the visuals, and the story was interesting. I liked the original, but I did not enter this movie in the same an invested fan would. So, I can't speak to whether someone who loved the first movie would appreciate the way the two stories work together or how the new movie compliments the first.
  5. Elizabeth (none of the above)
  6. The celebrity default is to go to rehab in hopes people forgive them or feel sorry for them. I hope that doesn't happen for him. As a serial sexual harasser/abuser, I hope he pays for his actions in some way.
  7. ^ I wonder if that would be more difficult to be revealed. I imagine the powerful people involved in that would fight even harder to keep it a secret, and it's normally very hard for children to reveal abuse. This is just a guess, but I would think it might take someone who helped but was not directly involved being overcome by guilt to the point of not caring about the ramifications of telling the truth. In general, i'm not optimistic, but I hope that ring doesn't exist as that would be the best case scenario.
  8. Studio executives and directors doing this to women (and men) is a old as movies. It's assumed to be somewhat common but I don't think anyone can be certain how common. Since executives and directors are the ones with power it's not strange that the abused would be afraid to speak out on their own, and it's makes complete sense that once the person loses power or once there are multiple accusers that they feel comfortable speaking out. I don't think I have seen other executives singled out in this way during the last few days, and that's because they are still in power and people want a chance to have a career. I seems to be limited to Wienstein and people around him, so far. The idea of going up and grabbing people keeps reminding me of Trump saying he does that in that video. He, and likely the others also, seem to think it's their right to do this because they are rich / powerful / famous.

Is it bad that I forgot the show was coming back soon?
  11. I know it's not surprising when a beautiful woman looks beautiful while pregnant, but she definitely looks great.
  12. ^^ In the past, FIFA would say they based the allocation on previous World Cup performance, but the slots rarely changed much and the changes rarely matched up to the actual performance. I don't think FIFA makes those claims anymore. What you suggested makes sense, but I think FIFA has made it clear they are not trying to just get the 32 (or 48) best teams, there is going to continue to be a focus on getting all confederations more spots. I just looked at the 48 allocation again so I would get the numbers right, UEFA will increase from 13 to 16 ad CAF from 5 to 9. That's a significant difference in increase in terms of percentage. It would be a better tournament if it qualification spots were performance based, but it seems unlikely, unfortunately.
  13. UEFA and CONMEBOL are clearly the two strongest confederations overall and have the best performances in World Cups. The allocation of spots to the World Cup is not just based on strength, they also give more to CAF and AFC in hopes of growing the game more in those regions (I think that's FIFA's reasoning). If you look at the approved increase in spots for when the World Cup goes to 48 teams, those two confederations gain a lot of spots and UEFA/CONMEBOL do not.

I know this is not new information, but it's difficult to qualify for the World Cup from CONMEBOL. I think Chile would have qualified easily from most (all?) other confederations.

After qualifying for the World Cup, France's players and fans did the Iceland thunder clap thing. Come on France, you have to get your own thing.

  18. I understand why it's interesting to think about it, but independence seems very unlikely. The two most common routes to independence are for the country to accept independence (which Spain has said they will not do), and civil war (which I doubt either side wants). Probably, the best case scenario for Catalonia is to gain some of the things they want from the Spanish government (their desires are easy to look up, if you want). I don't know how likely that is, but I don't think they can hope for more.
