Grotesquerie’ Teaser Trailer – Ryan Murphy’s New Horror Series Tracks a Serial Killer “It’s like a hole opened up in the world… to the center of nothingness.” From Executive Producer Ryan Murphy (“American Horror Story”) comes the brand new FX horror series “Grotesquerie,” and FX has released the first official teaser trailer this morning. “Grotesquerie” will premiere September 25 on FX, arriving next day on Hulu. Watch the teaser trailer for Ryan Murphy’s “Grotesquerie” below. Niecy Nash-Betts (“Dahmer”) stars in the upcoming horror series alongside Courtney B. Vance (“Lovecraft Country”) and Oscar nominee Lesley Manville (Phantom Thread). Micaela Diamond, Nicholas Alexander Chavez, Raven Goodwin, and Travis Kelce also star. In Ryan Murphy’s 10-episode drama series for FX, a series of heinous crimes have unsettled a small community. “Detective Lois Tryon” feels these crimes are eerily personal, as if someone—or something—is taunting her. At home, Lois grapples with a strained relationship with her daughter, a husband in long-term hospital care and her own inner demons. With no leads and unsure of where to turn, she accepts the help of “Sister Megan,” a nun and journalist with the Catholic Guardian. Sister Megan, with her own difficult past, has seen the worst of humanity, yet she still believes in its capacity for good. Lois, on the other hand, fears the world is succumbing to evil. As Lois and Sister Megan string together clues, they find themselves ensnared in a sinister web that only seems to raise more questions than answers. Written and created by Ryan Murphy, Jon Robin Baitz and Joe Baken, “Grotesquerie” is directed by Max Winkler, Murphy, Alexis Martin Woodall and Elegance Bratton. The show is executive produced by Murphy, Woodall, Baitz, Baken, Winkler, Nash-Betts, Vance, Peter Liguori, Nissa Diederich, Eric Kovtun and Scott Robertson. It is produced by 20th Television.

‘Poltergeist’ TV Series from Amazon MGM Studios Scares Up Showrunners It was announced last Halloween that Amazon MGM Studios was developing a television series based on the Poltergeist franchise, and that project is now coming closer to reality. Variety reports this afternoon that Kalinda Vazquez (“Fear the Walking Dead”) and Robbie Thompson (“Supernatural”) have come on board the upcoming Poltergeist television series as writers, showrunners, and executive producers. Variety notes in today’s fresh report, “Exact plot details are under wraps, aside from the fact that the show is inspired by the iconic 1982 horror film.” Darryl Frank and Justin Falvey will executive produce on behalf of Amblin Television. [Related] The Original ‘Poltergeist’ House Just Went Up for Sale in California! The original horror classic, Poltergeist was released in 1982, directed by Tobe Hooper and co-written and produced by Steven Spielberg. JoBeth Williams, Craig T. Nelson and the late Heather O’Rourke starred as a family besieged by supernatural terror in their suburban home. The original hit was followed by Poltergeist II: The Other Side in 1986 and Poltergeist III in 1988, plus a largely forgotten remake in 2015. Then there was the TV series “Poltergeist: The Legacy,” which ran from 1996 to 1999. The series tells the story of the members of a secret society known as the Legacy and their efforts to protect humankind from occult dangers.

A24’s “Crystal Lake” Lands New Showrunner for ‘Friday the 13th’ Prequel TV Series Plans for A24 and Peacock’s planned Friday the 13th television series “Crystal Lake” derailed earlier this year, with showrunner Bryan Fuller‘s (“Hannibal”) departure leaving the project in limbo. Deadline reports that the project is back on track, enlisting Brad Caleb Kane (It: Welcome to Derry) as the new showrunner. Kane will serve as the series’ creator, showrunner, writer and executive producer. To refresh your memory, Peacock had given the project a straight-to-series order in 2022, with “Crystal Lake” being described as an “expanded prequel” to the original Friday the 13th franchise featuring both Jason Voorhees and his mother, Pamela. Additionally, Vincenzo Natali (Cube, Splice) and Kimberly Peirce (Boys Don’t Cry, Carrie) were set to direct episodes, with the budget ballooning to around $10 million per episode. With eight episodes in total planned for the first season, it would’ve cost A24 roughly $85 million to bring the series to life, with additional seasons being planned by the studio. Expect the direction to change completely now that a new showrunner is in place. Kane has most recently served as co-showrunner and executive producer of It: Welcome to Derry, an anticipated It prequel series starring Bill Skarsgård as Pennywise. In addition to Kane, exec producers on the series include A24; Victor Miller, who wrote the screenplay for the franchise’s original 1980 film; Miller’s copyright attorney, Marc Toberoff; Robert M. Barsamian and Robert P. Barsamian. The project will mark A24’s first major IP-driven project amid a recent effort to expand in a more commercial direction. “From the moment I watched Jason Voorhees squeeze a guy’s eyeball out of its socket (in glorious 3D!) at the tender age of 8 years old, I knew my creative path was someday destined to converge with The Man Behind The Mask,” said Kane in a statement. “Nothing defined my childhood more than growing up in the golden age of the slasher flick, and nothing’s defined the genre more than Friday The 13th. I couldn’t be more excited for the opportunity to contribute a chapter to this iconic franchise, particularly with such fearless partners as Peacock and A24.” Now that “Crystal Lake” is back on track, expect to hear a lot more about this Friday the 13th prequel series in the coming months.

Pacific Rim’ Origin Series in the Works at Legendary from ‘Bird Box’ Scribe Legendary Entertainment is looking to dip back into the prequel well after giving Dune a prequel series with Max’s Dune: Prophecy. Deadline reports that an origin story for Guillermo del Toro’s Pacific Rim is in the works at the indie studio from Eric Heisserer (Shadow and Bone, Bird Box). The prequel is part of a first-look deal with Heisserer and Chronology, his recently launched production company with Carmen Lewis, who has signed with Legendary to work on IP and related projects. Pacific Rim was originally released in theaters here in the United States on July 12, 2013 in 3D and IMAX 3D, stomping its way to $411 million at the worldwide box office. In the film, “As a war between humankind and monstrous sea creatures wages on, a former pilot and a trainee are paired up to drive a seemingly obsolete special weapon in a desperate effort to save the world from the apocalypse.” Del Toro’s movie spawned the feature film sequel Pacific Rim Uprising in 2018, and the world was also expanded upon with an animated series from Netflix titled “Pacific Rim: The Black.” Heisserer most recently served as the showrunner, executive producer and writer on Netflix series Shadow and Bone. He previously wrote the Netflix horror movie Bird Box, the Denis Villeneuve-directed sci-fi thriller Arrival, and the surprisingly great prequel Final Destination 5. So the scribe is no stranger to navigating genre prequels. “Eric is a multitalented, prolific creator whose track record of critical and commercial successes speaks for itself,” said Jason Clodfelter, President of Legendary Television. “We are thrilled to launch our partnership with Eric, Chronology, and Carmen, with a new entry in the epic, globally popular Pacific Rim universe.”

Two More Cast in TV Series Adaptation of Stephen King’s ‘The Institute’ ublished in 2019, Stephen King‘s novel The Institute is getting a TV series adaptation from MGM+, with Deadline reporting on the latest casting news this afternoon. Simone Miller (Run The Burbs) and Jason Diaz (Vampire Academy) have joined a cast that includes Ben Barnes (Shadow and Bone) and Mary-Louise Parker (Weeds). Deadline details in today’s report, “Miller plays Kalisha, a sarcastic-but-friendly Institute inmate, who becomes one of Luke’s closest allies. Diaz plays Tony, the most sadistic of the Institute’s orderlies, who delights in wielding his power over the children.” The Institute comes from director/executive producer Jack Bender (Lost, Mr. Mercedes), writer/executive producer Benjamin Cavell (Justified, The Stand) and MGM+ Studios. In the eight-episode series, “When 12-year-old genius Luke Ellis is kidnapped, he awakens at The Institute, a facility full of children who all got there the same way he did, and who are all possessed of unusual abilities. In a nearby town, haunted former police officer Tim Jamieson (Barnes) has come looking to start a new life, but the peace and quiet won’t last, as his story and Luke’s are destined to collide.” The website notes that Parker will play “Ms. Sigsby, the charming but iron-willed director of the Institute and a true believer in its awful mission.” Here’s the novel’s full synopsis, via Amazon: As psychically terrifying as Firestarter, and with the spectacular kid power of It, The Institute is Stephen King’s gut-wrenchingly dramatic story of good vs. evil in a world where the good guys don’t always win. In the middle of the night, in a house on a quiet street in suburban Minneapolis, intruders silently murder Luke Ellis’s parents and load him into a black SUV. The operation takes less than two minutes. Luke will wake up at The Institute, in a room that looks just like his own, except there’s no window. And outside his door are other doors, behind which are other kids with special talents—telekinesis and telepathy—who got to this place the same way Luke did: Kalisha, Nick, George, Iris, and ten-year-old Avery Dixon. They are all in Front Half. Others, Luke learns, graduated to Back Half, “like the roach motel,” Kalisha says. “You check in, but you don’t check out.” In this most sinister of institutions, the director, Mrs. Sigsby, and her staff are ruthlessly dedicated to extracting from these children the force of their extranormal gifts. There are no scruples here. If you go along, you get tokens for the vending machines. If you don’t, punishment is brutal. As each new victim disappears to Back Half, Luke becomes more and more desperate to get out and get help. But no one has ever escaped from the Institute.

You really need to see knees, calves, and feet to properly judge a body? Those pictures are sufficient for me. If you need to see the knees, calves, and feet, just search the model’s name on Google Images. It will take a whole 10 seconds to find dozens of images of the bits and bobs.- 3,505 replies

The "What Are You Thinking About Right Now?" PIP
PrettyDeadThings replied to Francesca's topic in General Talk
Dear Summer, I must be honest with you – I simply cannot stand you, as you know already, but I still cannot seem to stress my hatred enough of you to feel better about the situation. Your relentless heat, the constant hum of air conditioners all around me giving me a migraine, and the oppressive humidity that leaves me feeling damp within minutes of stepping outside are all unbearable. I find no joy in sitting under your scorching sun like so many others. I enjoy being as pale as I am. Even during my time in Northern California, I sought refuge at the beach only on dreary, overcast days, avoiding your harsh rays as much as I could. I would love to go to New Orleans sooner, but stepping outside Anna's home at 2am in August is akin to going to hell, so fuck you for that. Your presence is overwhelming, and I long for the day you finally depart for the next 6 months. My heart yearns for Autumn, with its cool, crisp days and the vibrant transformation of leaves into brilliant hues of gold, orange, red, and even pink. I eagerly anticipate the season of pumpkins, Halloween, horror movies, and the comforting embrace of a gentle breeze at night as my friends and I walk among the moonlight. Sincerely, the person who would move to Alaska in a New York Second, or even Maine if I could convince my husband it was for the best. I would move to Edinburgh, however UK is turning itself into a supersized shitshow ... no one sane wants that. Soon... -
