1992. I think the 6 first covers are the same girl

Incredibly, it's actually 3 different models....why did they go through the trouble of hiring different models that all look nearly identical?? They could have saved trouble and just shot 1 model all year! Think Outside the box guys!!! There was a times and places in the 80s, where if you were not Scandinavian (or look it)- no cover for you!

Exactly. That's why very few Brazilian models were successful abroad at that time. There were fantastic girls around here, but few really managed to succeed in their international career.

That is so sad!!! I'd rather see the Brazilian girls!! :girlbanghead: I suppose the light blondes looked exotic to the dark haired Italians... I get it.

I guess it was all about what was trendy at the time. I remember reading Roshumba Williams' book back when I was 16. She writes that she would go to different castings in Paris and they would just say "No black girls this season!". She says it wasn't a racial thing, it was just what they were working with at the moment. Some of the people who rejected her were crazy about black girls the next season and she got hired a lot. I think it was very different back in the day.

But yeah, I like the Brazilian girls, too! The blond Nordic girls are exotic to me too (big surprise - I'm Eastern European!) but Brazil... That's a whole different world!
