Women want to mate with the most prestigious male. They want varying degrees of empowerment- at the very least, they want power over the home and their children & varying degrees vocational or creative achievement. They want freedom from drudgery and boredom. They want to look and feel like a gem of a status symbol. They want all sorts of people to look longingly at them from a distance.

i think for the msot part, women are like men, and re not too sure what they really want. Yes, they want to be treated as equals and have as much rights and freedoms as guys take. but to say that they want a man, or to be in charge of a family is just small mindeness.

Well, this thread is about casual generalizations, though?

I've met women that don't want a partner and/ or a family or, due to a wild variety of reasons think they don't. Anyway, women that willfully choose to be alone for the entirely of their lives are outliers.
