Blood and wine was good too. I didnt' like some of the tropes they took (and distorted), but all in all it was good.

Most probably.

I wanted to play the first game first, but I believe that's only available on PC.

The second game is only available on Xbox 360 and PC.

I started the Witcher 2 a couple of days ago (after I finished Jedi Fallen order). Pretty good game IMO and even if it's a bit old now, the graphics are still great.

You should play on PC, the graphics look much better than on console (just saying ) and you can use your Xbox gamepad on PC (that's what I do with the Witcher).

I like the combat dynamics in the Witcher 2, Geralt looks fiercer, his sword gets bloody and there's more raw violence. The combats are still pretty easy in the Witcher games: you just dodge, then hit....... it's still fun, but rarely a big challenge.

We'll see how it evolves in the Witcher 4 (I bet there will be a Witcher 4).

Okay

Maybe, but don't know if my computer can handle the strain.

^ I didn't know that you could deflect arrows with Aard!  Archers are always annoying, so I just take care of them first. Once they're done, the others are a piece of cake (whatever the difficulty).

The music definitely made Blood and Wine superb.

I liked B & W's soundtrack the most out of the three.  H of S had imho a much shorter but better soundtrack that W3

Blood and Wine's music is a mixture of French folk music, medieval French music and fantasy. The melodies are refined but not very complex per se. What's complex and what gives flavor to the music is how the use a large number of different instruments, voices, sometimes simple melodies, then polyphonies, rhythm changes, etc.

They invested a lot of money on the soundtrack and it pays!

Most of the general/ambience tracks (in all games) are soft. From what I remember, the don't use drums, except for battle themes, which all have drums (with no exception from what I recall).

The Hearts of Stone soundtrack has a mystical aura and it's really brilliant too. O'Dimm and von Everec's leitmotiv are awesome.

A lof of the greatness of O'Dimm character comes from his voice and the music. Same for von Everec.

-----------

I loved Hearts of Stone. I loved Blood and Wine. And I loved the Witcher 3. These games are far superior than many of their competitors.

It's funny because HoS (and Velen/Novigrad) seems to be in some kind of everlasting autumn, Skellige is winter, Toussaint seems to be Summer, Kaer Morhen looks like spring (where kids become witchers).

I stand by it and I was still thinking about it. I was trying to think if the music reflects it, which it does, somehow, but maybe not so much.

Yep, battle themes all have drums in them.

And one of the most interesting story

@Prettyphile  You haven't told me yet, but if you haven't played this expansion/game, I'm pretty sure it's you'll like it. It's about a story in an everlasting autumn, with ghosts and monsters, goth ladies, Eastern promises, complex choices, etc.

I loved this expansion, the other one and the game in general.

Have you watched the TV show? Did you like the soundtrack? It's good, but not as good as the game's.  I liked this song a lot, but the soundtrack, though it has a lot of potential, could be improved for next season.
