December 27, 201212 yr Why Karlie Kloss cut her hairWhen Karlie Kloss turned up backstage at the Victoria's Secret Fashion Show last month with a much shorter haircut, she told us that she did it for "a job."This week, Vogue published a story about a newly trendy haircut known simply as the chop, which in recent months has been adopted by everyone from Arizona Muse to Olivier Theyskens. Kloss's cut was administered by the mononymous New York stylist Garren in Patrick Demarchelier's photo studio, and the magazine chronicled the model's transformation from long-haired and lovely to short-haired and almost gamine."I love it. I can't stop touching it . . . it makes me feel more daring," Kloss said afterward, adding that having shorter locks "actually takes the focus off your hair and puts the focus on you. I'm starting to realize that it's all about confidence."The only drawback to the new 'do? "It's winter, and I happen to have this very long neck," Kloss noted. "I may need to invest in some really warm scarves."
December 29, 201212 yr Karlie Kloss is Vogue‘s Top Model for 2012 In 2009, Vogue fell for Karlie Kloss. Hard. She was the most featured model that year, not only in the US edition (in which she appeared almost twice as much as any other model), but also in the combined pages of all the international editions. In the two years following, she remained solidly in the top three, but it appears that wasn’t enough for the St. Louis native, as she has reclaimed the title of the number one model in Vogue for 2012. It’s been an exciting year for Karlie, filled with all the successes and controversies (both in and out of the fashion world) befitting a model at the top of her game. There was Karlie’s Kookies, the MTV House of Style hosting gig, bonding with Olympians, abrupt agency swtiches, an insensitive turn on the Victoria’s Secret catwalk, and the requisite photoshop controversy.
