June 13, 20159 yr Author Is it too much to wish for Kate to be in the next Givenchy Campaign? Though I doubt it. Hope her contract isn't too restricting. Don't think I could cope if Kate didn't do some high fashion/runway way work.
June 14, 20159 yr I don't think she'll be in the campaign. I'm not sure if we'll see her in one this season. Although, I am still hoping. Actually, I'll feel the same way if she ends up not doing any kind of high fashion/ runway work.
June 14, 20159 yr Karlie was (and still is) in incredibly high demand for HF stuff while she was under contract with VS and she managed to do it, and with less angels on the roster. If Kate doesn't do it, it's her choice, not because VS won't let her.
June 14, 20159 yr VS wouldn't try to stop their girls from doing HF work anyways. Any exposure of their girls is good for them, and it helps them push that "our Angels are Supermodels" idea they have, when consumers see an Angel in a Chanel advertisement. The main reason the girls don't do it is because they don't need it, or don't have the time. Runway doesn't pay well, and most girls stop after they land big contracts because fashion week is exhausting.
June 14, 20159 yr Karlie was already pretty well-established in HF when she came to VS and she signed with them on her own terms.Kate is still not that well established in HF. Yeah, she has been in demand for fashion weeks but editorial and campaign wise she hasn't exactly gotten any big ones. I think with the large number of Angels signed, VS is going to let her continue do fashion weeks and all that.
June 14, 20159 yr ^ That's what I was saying. If Karlie, who was/is really in demand across the board as far as modeling goes could manage to do all of that plus VS, then someone who is less established and getting offered fewer things should have no issues continuing to do what Kate did prior to VS. Exactly. VS loves any sort of media attention and if they have their angels doing big name campaigns or walking in shows, that's going to generate more press for them which they'd never discourage.
June 14, 20159 yr It all depends now. While VS loves seeing their girls in HF, some high-ranking people (designers, fashion houses) aren't too fond of being associated with VS, especially newbies . I'm afraid Kate might suffer the same fate as Lindsay and Erin who also started very well in high fashion but after they signed with VS their HF work dropped immensely. Of course, the scenario is different with Kate as they have signed so many girls so she can pursue HF if she wants to.
