I know I knew it was alot (at around 100) but I didn't know this many! :o

Radolgc who collects on Gisele since many years has around 700 covers of her and he says even his collection is not complete. :p That is still an insane amount of covers. I think only Claudia Schiffer has as many. I can imagine it will only grow throughout her 30's.

A little about Gisele/Colcci

Colcci Public Relations, little interview -

"Always wondered how it would be to say goodbye to Gisele Bundchen. We always had this as a problem.I think having a brand in any segment and have a photo related to Gisele's is success. Return it brings, both in image and sales, it is surreal! There is no way to compare a Brazilian celebrity to it, does not exist, it is impossible! But there comes the moment of farewell "

"It's amazing the power that has Gisele. The pieces she used in the parades were always the most sold, it showed what appeared in most publications. She offered a proposal for us to continue, we started trading, but realized that maybe it's time to change. The first thing we decided was that it would be a man. And for about two or three years I've thought of Ashton. "

Curves to die for? How a dangerous trend began

British women were always more interested in their bust than their bottom until Latino curves, as seen on Jennifer Lopez and the supermodel Gisele Bundchen, burst on to the scene in the 1990s.

The US singer of Puerto Rican descent and the Brazilian model were the trigger that led American and European women to shift their attention from their front to their behind, following the example of the Latin countries, according to plastic surgeon Luiz Toledo. "Women started turning up in clinics with pictures of Gisele Bundchen saying they wanted to look like her. She started the trend," he said.

Dr Toledo, a Brazilian who runs a clinic in Dubai specialising in facial and body contouring, said demand for buttock enhancement was growing. British women are his second biggest patient group after those from the Emirates. "It used to be fashionable among American and British women to have bigger breasts and flat buttocks. In Brazil, it was the opposite - women wanted small breasts and a big curvaceous bottom. Then Gisele Bundchen changed everything."

So women wanted big breasts and big butts? But Gi does have none :idk: she is very thin, but toned, that´s what I love about her  her breasts and ass are like petite and greatly shaped  not big at all

I know. :p I once watched a Plastic Surgery show, and they said alot of girls always requested breasts like Gisele's. They did not want the big fake silicone Pam Anderson look that was more popular in the 90's any longer. I think Gi brought in the ,petite, natural T&A look. Jlo brought in the bum craze. haha.

I like what you said in SI 2011 thread Jennka

and fyi. I am American and Gisele is not just "the wife of tom brady" lmao. yeah sure it's one of her many labels, but certainly not the only one. :cain: (the only time she is referred to as Tom's wife is on sportscenter, lol) All other times she is Gisele.

She is one of the only models here who can even create a headline, lol. Not to mention also one of the few models who can actually get an American fashion magazine cover. I hardly call that insignificant. Oh yeah and a little thing called Forbe's, says otherwise as well. I don't see anyone else on the #1 spot

People don't have to like Gisele. but to downgrade her status just bc you don't like her? lol...

and on the topic of plastic surgery. I don't see any other models bringing in trends like that, lol. Not to mention her hair being a major hit and many girls wanting to have big bronde beachy waves this whole entire decade...

also, I'm glad she isn't just seen as a "guy hot" model. She's far beyond that. She is a fashion icon. and if you ask me still going damn strong. ;)

I agree with you ;) you know, I have no problem with people doubting Gisele´s beauty - not everyone has to like her - and I won´t go around persuading everyone that she is the most beautiful woman I´ve seen in my life. Frankly, she isn´t, there are much more beautiful women out there - but she has something that made her phenomenal, and that´s more than just beauty. For me, she is beautiful, and that´s all that counts.

But I have to stand for her when someone doubts her fame or popularity, because that´s just something no one can deny. Hell, people know her name here in my country, as I said, and THAT is damn big.

Btw, she made VS even more famous, and that is actually an American brand. And I´m glad you, as an American, can clearly see her fame out there  and yeah, there´s no way to cheat Forbes ;)

Yes, she is a fashion icon - and talking about that, what the heck, she makes almost NO scandals, does NOT write books, did NOT marry a famous actor (although dated one for sure, Leo :D and I guess that help a little too, but still), played in a movie, and so on - I´m sure you get me. She is almost boring for press and paps, and still they chase her like insane.

I call THAT a success ;)

yeah I will never argue with someone about how she looks because as proven on this forum with pages and pages of models, I don't expect everyone to dig the same look. That's fine and obviously everyone sees something different and some will prefer hot blondes, exotic brunettes, commercial models, high fashion,etc...even if I personally think she is one of the most beautiful women I have ever seen. ;) I for one, love that she doesn't look like just another Hollywood clone. She's unique. That is half of her appeal IMO.

But for someone who just doesn't like her period, and also denies her iconic status, I find soo immature. lol

Even Barron who is not a Gisele fan, acknowledges her status. I appreciate an unbiased opinion like that moreso than I dont like her so she is not popular or very famous either.

Besides fame and popularity are 2 different things. Just because she is not as popular as she once was during her heyday, doesn't mean a thing IMO. You rarely see Cindy Crawford anymore but that doesn't mean she isn't famous. She just isn't as popular now. Ask anyone (over a certain age) who she is, and they will know. (same with Gisele)

and besides Forbe's money making, powerful celeb/women lists she makes many more important ones.

-4th most powerful person in fashion world out of 50 by the NewYork daily news

-Models.com #1 modeling icon and #1 money girl

-The biggest star in fashion history by The Independent

-Claudia Shiffer,Naomi Campbell,Christy Turlington all say she is the only real Supermodel left today.

-Most Vogue covers ever all before the age of 30

and the list goes on :p

I don't see any other models having such prestigious titles. I love that Gisele doesn't have to do talk shows or attend award shows, premieres AND she still gets some of the best work around, without having to do anything. Everyone still wants to work with her year after year. Heck they even fly around the world just to work with her, she doesn't even have to travel anymore. which in 2010 was almost always the case bc she didn't want to leave Benjamin behind.

I agree with you all! Gisele is no longer a model anymore, she is THE model. She is so in high demand, and her in my opinion she can do anything.

Like she can go sweet and soft, like in her new H&M ads, or she can go strong and sexy like in VS, or Balenciaga. She is like the perfect painting pallete for a designer, or a photographer, because she can do everything!

Posted

I agree w/ you. I think its a big reason why she is always in demand. She can conform and produce what the designer/photographer wants. She can deliver their vision. :p (which ultimately is more of a models job than just sitting there looking pretty and vapid..lol)

Not to mention they always say she makes their time enjoyable. She laughs, jokes and is not a diva. Modeling is SOO much more than only having perfect looks. If you watch Cheryl Tiegs on Oprah recently, she even said the same thing. Models with perfect features come and go, but if they have nothing to say/no personality they don't last.
