mylovelyangel Posted May 4, 2006 Author Posted May 4, 2006 Starring: Daniel Craig, Judi Dench, Eva Green, Mads MikkelsenDirector: Martin CampbellOpens: Nov. 17, 2006What the Movie Is About: There's a new Bond in town: Craig, Daniel Craig. Fitting for a fresh start, 'Casino Royale' takes on the first Ian Fleming novel. We learn the origins of 007: his passion for guns, gambling, glamorous cars and of course, girls. We also learn how M (Judi Dench) gives him his first license to kill -- a bit improper for a Dame, but who are we to judge? Quote
SympathysSilhouette Posted May 10, 2006 Posted May 10, 2006 This should be pretty good. It's got the original Bond girl, Vesper Lynd. She's the one whose actions will affect how Bond treats women in the rest of the Bond series. Allthough he was pretty much a sexist pig before he met Vesper, he will turn into a sexist paranoid pig with attachment issues after her. Quote
Memento Mori Posted May 20, 2006 Posted May 20, 2006 Daniel Craig looks like a hick.Seriously.That may or may not be true, but unlike Pierce Brosnan, he can, you know - act. Quote
Adrianas Llama Posted May 21, 2006 Posted May 21, 2006 yeah im not thrilled about who they chose. but i saw the trailer at the start of the da vinci code and it looked great. Quote
SympathysSilhouette Posted May 21, 2006 Posted May 21, 2006 Actually, Daniel Craig is probably closest in look to the literary Bond than any other actor who ever portrayed him. Only problem is his blonde hair. But the literary Bond never had conventional pretty boy looks, but was more rugged and rough (scarred face and all). Quote
tinky Posted May 21, 2006 Posted May 21, 2006 they could choose anyone better than him;Clive Owen,Jude Law,Eric Bana-and even George Clooney! Especially Owen or Bana would be perfect. Quote
Adrianas Llama Posted May 21, 2006 Posted May 21, 2006 yeah however much i dislike clive ive got to agree with you he fits the bond role Quote

Memento Mori Posted May 21, 2006 Posted May 21, 2006 they could choose anyone better than him;Clive Owen,Jude Law,Eric Bana-and even George Clooney!Especially Owen or Bana would be perfect. Clive Owen is too old, we'd have geriatric-Bond in 2 movies again like we did with Roger Moore or Pierce Brosnan in Die Another Day (watch Goldeneye then Die Another Day in order...it's quite a drop off). Jude Law is too much of a lightweight. Eric Bana woulda been alright. George Clooney is American. Go rent Layer Cake and tell me again if you think Daniel Craig sucks. If it's purely a looks argument, when, well - I don't care enough to argue that. Quote
SympathysSilhouette Posted May 21, 2006 Posted May 21, 2006 Owen could have made a decent Bond imho. But he didn't want the part, so we'll never know. However, he is exactly the same age now as Brosnan was when he did his first Bond. And both him and Brosnan were 4 years younger than Moore was when he did his first. Quote

From what I know of Eon they wanted an actor that could play Bond for a bunch of movies instead of 3 or so before starting to show their age. But you're right, Owen doesnt' need Bond, he has a good career already. Quote

So they'll probably have to look for a new Bond in 3-5 years from now. Quote

SympathysSilhouette Posted May 21, 2006 Posted May 21, 2006 I guess so. It all depends on how much other offers he gets. But he was already doing fairly well before he got Bond. He was pretty good in Munich. Quote
AndronSil Posted March 28 Posted March 28 How to choose a reliable casino? I read a bunch of tips, recommendations and everything else that usually helps in choosing an online casino, but to be honest it didn’t really help me. Quote
