Strangely enough, I cancelled my subscription and switched to ESPN the magazine. One of my lady friends is still subscribed to SI, so I knew nothing about this .

Good Surprises

- Emily's modeling is much improved. She's always had the beauty, but seems to have sexy down now.
- I've never been much into Hanah Davis, but was surprised that she had one of the sexiest pics :| (the cutoff shirt one).
- I'm not attracted to Lily (like her for her personality), but she had one of the sexiest poses.

Disapointments

- It didn't seem to suit Brejge as well as I would have thought. Maybe it was the clothes or angles.
- Would have liked Malores to have at least one from the front shot. I only saw a side shot.
- I also would have expected better from Van Der Graaf, but being the youngest, blondest with the biggest (or tied for) top, smallest waist and longest legs she's likely to get more chances.
- Tyra was wearing a big, leather dress.
- Would have liked to have seen Cintia, Jarah and particularly Alyssa in there. Catrinel goes without saying, but she's probably in another version.

I just ask if anyone's scanning (unless you're just doing everything?) if they could have these in mind .

It just came out 2 days ago so she got it pretty fast considering. Pheno just had access 3-4 days prior to it's release.

Soooo this is late by a couple days, but this is the first chance I've had to do this, so... whatever.

 

My Review

 

Anne V: I like her, and a few shots were really good, but I preferred her in other years. Though it's nice to see her skin looking less like plastic.

Ariel: wtf is with all the animals in some of these girls' shots. O.o goats and sheep? really? Anyway... I think she looked good, but last year was better.

Bregje: some good shots here and there, but overall I didn't like her face and make-up in most of them. And they underutilized her ass.

Chanel: I don't pay a lot of attention to models outside of pictures but I've still heard about how bitchy she is, and it kind of affects how I see her... she looks good I guess but my view is clouded.

Chrissy: Mommy taught me that if I can't say anything nice, then don't say anything at all. ^.^

Cris: I like Cris but her shots didn't scream SI sexy. Girl's done too much VS. o.o

Emily D: I love Emily, and she was the one I was most looking forward to this year... which was kind of setting myself up I guess. I didn't like her shots this year as much as last year. A lot of pics totally killed it, but in others... idk if it was the lighting or the make-up but her face looked odd. Like idk what the hell is going on with this one: 

             

I still love her though and she still did really well. And the scenery was perfect, but again, wtf is with the sheep.

Emily R: I've never really been interested in her. Nice boobs and ass, but her face isn't my cup of tea. And I agree with the person (Pretty, I think it was) who said she looks like she needs a bath kind of. O.o

Genevieve: To use a common term... butterface. And she seems more FHM than SI. >.> Though this year was better than last year.

Gigi: She looks WAY too young. Total teenybopper. Her shots were catalog cute, not SI sexy.

Hannah D: Better than last year, and the carnival shots were cute. I totally want that shark bite/mouth suit. XD

Hannah F: She looks like she belongs in Playboy. Bleach the hair and she's good to go.

Irina: I love Irina but overall this shoot brought nothing new to the table. Just standard beach shots. Meh.

Jessica: I think she looked really good. Some of her suits were kind of ugly but her best shots are of her nude anyways so whatever.

Kate B: Definitely better than last year. I liked a lot of her shots and her hair looks super pretty.

Kate U: She does nothing for me. It's not a weight issue which is something I see given as a reason a lot. I just don't like her shape. Not enough waist definition. She's not curvy so much as busty. And I don't find her that pretty. *shrug*

Lauren: *gag*

Lily: Blew me away. Definitely my favorite rookie. She totally killed it. She was fierce and sexy and had great poses and suit choices. And as already mentioned, she got way much more attention from SI than she ever has with VS so that's awesome.

Marloes: I'm kind of 50/50. I was really excited for her but the shoot didn't turn out as well as I'd hoped. That one piece yellow-ish suit is appalling. Love the ass shots though, and the ones where she's right in the edge of the waves. <3

Natasha: She was a lot better last year. This year she was boring. She's still pretty though and has a nice body so I'd like to see her back.

Nina: This shot:

had me salivating. Holy bloody hell. WOW. There were a few other good shots too and she looks great with Lily (diechrissyDIE) but overall I've liked other years better.

Samantha: *gag*

Sara: She looked amazing. Probably my second favorite rookie after Lily. Also, I really would have liked to see the looks on certain people's faces when it turned out y'all were right about her being in the magazine. Would have been hilarious, particularly with the people who were so against her being in it. xD

Valerie: Serious case of Neanderthal Face. o.o I normally really like her but this shoot was a disaster. And they should have given her more suit tops that brought her boobs together to create cleavage... they look weirdly pancakey in a lot of shots.

I agree that SI is best off discovering new talent. The high fashion models are great and all, but if you think of the models that the audience goes crazy for in SI it's the lesser known, new discoveries. Ex- kate upton, nina agdal, brooklyn Decker etc. Advice for SI- next year get some new girls who have little/no fanbase/modeling experience. That seems to be what the people end up loving & buying!

Now they're just mocking us.

Since when is Samantha brunette?! Pretty sure she is blonde (or at least dirty blonde)

And you can't compare the two. Emily has a much better modelsque body (bigger bust, smaller frame, and better butt). Emily also has WAY more exposure (Blurred Lines) and has done some fashion eds and campaigns (Revolve). She also has 789k followers on Instagram versus Samantha's measly 19k. She has wayyyy more power. Plus Emily actually brings something new (exotic Polish-British beauty) versus Samantha who is just a cheap version of Marisa Miller. Emily's photos are way better, she looks more natural and comfortable while Samantha looks paralyzed.

 

Dirty blonde can go either way for a lot of men... it's hair, just hair, doesn't do much other then give them something to hold onto, and you're still thinking like a person who knows models and fashion.

I just ran both girls by my husband and you know what he saw? Large boobs, bad face and playboy, both bag over head worthy, zero f*cks given. Welcome to how men who don't know fashion or give a crap about models think, btw he casts his vote for both because in his words "boobs"

 

Edit: Yeah in the voting pic of Samantha her hair looks brown because it's wet & I asked him about the blurred lines girl, and he said... "half naked chicks dancing... they have faces?"
