His father told him to not behave like a mad dog, said he was gonna die like one. And that's what happened in the end. All in all, he had only one string to his bow: being a sadistic brute. You can't be a ruler like that. A good ruler is strong, fair, sometimes ruthless, sometimes merciful, intelligent, charismatic, etc. Being multifaceted is key. His father was smarter and a smoother operator. Yea, he was an evil moron, and it is implausible that he would have ruled for long. He seems to have been written as a foil to Jon Snow- as the evil Bastard son/nemesis. The actor, after GOT played a young hitler in a movie.

She acquired strength, and showed ruthlessness in the last episodes when it was needed. She acquired several facets which kept adding to her personality. She had a more interesting journey than Ramsay who always stayed the same. She became the stronger predator in the end, which gave her the opportunity to eliminate him. ---- Bran also started as weak and became stronger, but his journey is more magical/supernatural and less of a traditional hero's journey. GRRM will definitely have a different narrative (than D and D) for all these key characters. They will arrive at the same place but the journey will be very different. That's if he managed to publish his books and preserve his health (hopefully). To be honest I feel like Sansa is a very familiar archetype in life (also a modern feminist one). The final result is a bitter-serious faced and humorless Sansa, very different from the innocent and idealistic girl from the beginning of the story. I don't know what's better. It might be better to be dead than have to live the life of Machiavellian Sansa. I think most people would rather be carefree and happy than being powerful and bitter. Maybe GRRM will write Sansa's hero's journey more like Geralt in the Witcher 3. She finds strength but also happiness and wholeness in the end. A well-balanced conclusion to her story.

November 1, 20222 yr (6) Tywin & Tommen Scene - What makes a good king? | Game of Thrones 4x03 | Breaker of Chains 1080p - YouTube "This has always felt like such a wholesome scene to me. The wisdom being passed from Tywin to Tommen like a normal grandfather, Jaime reassuring him at the end, Spoiler Joffrey laying there dead. Wonderful."
November 9, 20222 yr Ramsey Bolton in the books is more dark and sinister even than in the show. And I would also say that he is a bit smarter.
