Posted October 31, 201212 yr I think there should be a rule against members using the image-hosting site imagevenue. It seems that every time I click a link to a picture that is hosted there, even when it doesn't contain nudity, I get numerous ads and a huge pop-up in the middle of the screen with pornography! :yuckky: I know this issue has been brought up before with other hosting sites, but imagevenue is by far the worst. There are so many image-hosting sites, it shouldn't matter if we discontinue using this one. It would certainly make for a much cleaner, less aggravating, and more respectable Bellazon.
October 31, 201212 yr I have something to resolve this on my todo list, I promise I will get to it when I get time. I hate it too
November 1, 201212 yr ^ You told us about program to host images on BZ,is it the one in the todo list? if so,it would be great. Btw,Happy to see you around,
November 1, 201212 yr In the last Months EVERY Imagehoster had this..Imagevenue,Imagebam,Sharenxs,Turboimagehost,Imagetwist and and..Problem 1 : many People upload in different Boards, and if in one Board Host 1 is banned,at Board 2 another one, nobody find the Time to upload Stuff several Times..I use IV or IB,if some Board banned this..ok..then i´m out.And others alsoProblem 2 : I know a german Board who also had a own Boardserver, but this is extrem expansive, cause it takes Gigabytes and Terrabytes of Bandwith and Data who must be stored. You can get a lot of Copyright Problems, cause if someone upload Stuff maybe from a Photograph who dont want it,the Board have Problems with the Law..Pics on a Hoster are external,it´s only a Link.And...after a Boardcrash all Stuff can be dead or after a Software Change..I´m over 10 Years in the Net and saw Boards who change from phpbb to VB or from VB to Xenforo..whatever.Or from VB 3 to VB 4,many Settings,Hacks etc do not work,Pics are dead and gone..Imagehoster Links works with every Software..Problem 3 : more and more Fashion/Modelshots contains Nudity,so you must marked it as Adult..means Porn Adds.If you upload it on a Boardserver anything is shown (or you must insert a Hide Button or something)..But is sooo easy..If you use Firefox, install the Ad Block Plus, then sign in 1 Time to a automatic Black List, that´s it..I have not seen Pop Ups or Porn Adds since Ages ( only if i disable it), Opera get Pop Up Blockers also, think Chrome also..There are Tons of Tools like Script Blocker and such Stuff, some Minutes google for such, install this Freeware Tool and all is fine..
November 1, 201212 yr Author Problem 3 : more and more Fashion/Modelshots contains Nudity,so you must marked it as Adult..means Porn Adds.If you upload it on a Boardserver anything is shown (or you must insert a Hide Button or something)..There's a big difference between nudity and porn. A picture of a topless model is not pornography, and to see it, one shouldn't have to look at porn. And in the case of imagevenue, as I stated before, you get porn even when you click on pics that don't contain nudity. But is sooo easy..If you use Firefox, install the Ad Block Plus, then sign in 1 Time to a automatic Black List, that´s it..I have not seen Pop Ups or Porn Adds since Ages ( only if i disable it), Opera get Pop Up Blockers also, think Chrome also..There are Tons of Tools like Script Blocker and such Stuff, some Minutes google for such, install this Freeware Tool and all is fine..I have Internet Explorer. Even with the pop-up blocker on, the porn still comes up. And it's not just the pop-ups. Imagevenue has porn ads embedded right on the page, so no pop-up blocker will prevent that.
November 1, 201212 yr Mmmhh..With Firefox Ad Block Plus (and 1 Time adding to automatic List of Adds/Porn Adds) i see the Pics..And that`s all i see..No Pop Up,no Layers,no Advertisements,nothing..For FF there are Tons of Tools out like >Killjasmin < and you can add any Site you want to it and never see them again..It´s one of the Reasons that it´s so popular..But anyway, that´s the Way it is...I saw the same Problem in many other Board who dont want or allow Nudity,and...nearly any Pictureset contains Porn..But in the Days today any younger People can look at Porn without any Problem,so i think some 16 Years old Member are not "really shocked" cause it´s one of the Things that happens in the Internet..And about the Imagevenue..Beside the Sex Adds ( and all other Hoster get the same) IV is one of the safest..There are others (specially from Easteurope) who are really risky cause the contain Spyware or you can get a Malware Infection) and IV is fast and stable since 2005.
November 2, 201212 yr HideMyAss (http://www.hidemyass.com/upload/) is a bad image hosting site too. I have noticed recently that some of the photos I have uploaded with that program have vanished into thin air... Those pictures are now gone and replaced by a red cross in a white square. I have taken a screenshot in order to show it:
November 2, 201212 yr every time I click a link to a picture that is hosted there, even when it doesn't contain nudity, I get numerous ads and a huge pop-up in the middle of the screen with pornography! Yeah, it's a shame.
November 2, 201212 yr ^^ I didn't even realize HideMyAss was and imagehoster. Seriously, it's primarily for proxys and anonymous Internet surfing, so I wouldn't really make that my primary image hosting service... I use Show Just Image (http://www.ghacks.net/2010/04/11/display-only-images-on-image-hosting-sites/), which is add-on that's definitely available for Firefox and Chrome and is probably available for other web browsers. It's a script that makes it so you only see the image on an image hoster page; no porn, no ads, none of that useless crap. As far as I can tell, it works on every hoster but Imagebox (Probably too new) and you can also choose not to have script work on certain image hosters if you want (Like I have the script disabled for Postimage on mine). Honestly it's a really great add-on and because I don't have to worry about anything but the picture showing, I generally use any image hoster I want to upload my pictures. I guess this still doesn't solve the problem of porn being on Imagevenue, but who knows, maybe it does...
November 2, 201212 yr In my experience with imagevenue you will not get any nasty popups as long as you select the 'Family Safe' image content option when you upload your pics. If you select 'Adult Content' when uploading, then you get those types of popups/ads.

November 8, 201212 yr i know imagevenue is sort of banned at Fashionspot (even though some people get away with it) but there are a lot of High Quality Image forums that won't allow you to use the hosts that fashionspot deems appropriate. Its a real pain if you bounce from forum to forum. I use turboimage because almost all of them accept it with the exception of one magazine scanning forum I like.Turboimage seems to be ok. I know a lot of people like that Russian one. I guess its personal preference. I know eople say porn pops with imagevenue but I never had that happen. I guess I have a good pop-up blocker. Maybe we should all just use Mozilla and get the appropriate programs to block the porn than banning it. IDKIts up to the mods.
November 15, 201212 yr I completely agree., Even when you select the "family safe" option, you get porn pop ups. It's not even a very good imagehost as it won't accept images larger than about 2MB.Imagebam is way better and will take any size of image.
November 16, 201212 yr Its been said once, and I shall say it again out of trying to help others block and prevent sexually explicit banners/pop-ups. Install Firfox, then install the add-on Adblock Plus. Once installed, you have the option of selecting the banners and pop-ups you deem fit for blocking. I haven't had any banner/pop-up issues since
