June 7, 201311 yr 7 more days for the US, when does it come out everywhere else? Same for the UK, but it's coming out on the 12th in Taiwan and the Philippines. :persuazn:
June 8, 201311 yr It's coming out the 13th in some countries, but it opens in South America on the 14th .... I'm so excited for this movie, I'll be watching next weekend for sure
June 8, 201311 yr Author Thank you guys for updating everybody on this film. I have taken a long hiatus from movies since TDKR and I don't think I'll be doing the 'hype' thing like I did for the batman. But the hype, illusion, and anticipation is part of the fun imho! I have not seen anything outside of the trailers you posted here and personally I am not excited for the film yet as the imagery so far seemed rather ordinary to me. It looks generic and I have not seen evidence of any special creative direction or emotional resonance. However, HC looks the part- exceedingly so! But the reviews are coming out soon, and new information such as that may change things for me. Anyway, I hope as with everybody else that this will be worth seeing. I have read two good quality Superman (so-called) graphic novels so I do know a little about the character: Red Son and Birthright. The trailers of the 2013 film faintly resembles a telling of the latter story. I'm sure they cribbed material from it. And yes, there's a massive plot twist at the end.
June 11, 201311 yr 'Man Of Steel' sequel given the go-ahead with Zack Snyder, David S Goyer returning Warner Bros. reportedly putting Superman follow-up on fast track The sequel to Man Of Steel has reportedly been fast-tracked by Warner Brothers Studios, with two of the major players already signed on to return. According to Deadline, director Zack Snyder (Watchmen, 300) and screenwriter David S Goyer (Batman Begins) are already in place to return for the follow-up to this summer's blockbuster Superman movie. Goyer's returns to the franchise as part of his 3-movie deal, which also includes the film version of the Justice League, starring Superman alongside Batman. A source also informed the website that The Dark Knight trilogy director Christopher Nolan's role in the sequel won't be as "full blown". Nolan served as producer and story co-writer on Man Of Steel. Man Of Steel opens in cinemas on June 14. British actor Henry Cavill stars in the lead role alongside Amy Adams as Lois Lane and Russell Crowe as his biological father Jor-El. Kevin Costner and Diane Lane appear as his adoptive parents, Jonathan and Martha Kent.
June 12, 201311 yr Author Like 'Watchmen', 'Man of Steel' is getting mixed reviews and similar criticism for its style: http://www.rottentom...n_man_of_steel/ The first batch of reviews (47) has it at 69% so far and 56% for top critics.

June 12, 201311 yr Author ^ I hoped so too as the teasers were promising. According to reviews: So apparently he brought his particular story-telling style into 'Man of Steel' and like 300/watchmen, it's not everybody's cup of tea. You either like it or you don't. I remember finding 'Watchmen' to be visually impressive but very choppy/disorganized in structure/timing and featuring indifferent acting and a measure of distracting coldness. But the visuals were very dense, ambitious, and detailed.
June 12, 201311 yr Most of the reviews I've seen up to now have had a sort of grumpy, grudging, semi-positive tone to them. I hate to say it, but I'm not sure any new Superman vehicle would get a fair shake while the majority of working critics still remember seeing the Donner/Reeve version in theatres.
June 12, 201311 yr Author ^Yeah, the repeated referencing of old superman movies that most moviegoers and I haven't seen in ten to twenty years is unnecessary when critiquing this new version. Now it's at 58%/55%, 190/44 reviews, 6.3/10
June 14, 201311 yr I'm going to see this today, so excited Please don't suck,Please don't suck,Please don't suck
June 14, 201311 yr Author Do tell us how you think of it Mickiala. I will probably be seeing it next week. The mixed reviews and commentary about this film indicate that there are things that are done very well in 'Man of Steel' (and it has ambition, tries to break new ground in places), but the notable structural flaws are still there. It is curiosity about the former that has drawn me in.. The original trailer I posted back in 2012 is still my favorite one: The music from The Thin Red Line + narration +the sequences, etc. just works: -------------- And now that I've watched Michael's Nokia Trailer....wow! Lots of spoilerific imagery in there....! Watch at your own risk!
June 15, 201311 yr I it, I would give it a 9/10. The good-Cavill,Shannon,Crowe and Costner we're all amazing. I think it's the best superman movie to date! I wonder if the critic's are bashing it so much because Snyder did get way to cocky on changing ALOT of the storyline, I can see how that would upset the uber fans. Two of the things he changed really worked for me, the rest he changed just wasn't nessacery. See how I'm not giving out any spoilers I didn't really feel the chemistry between Superman and Lois (and I still think Amy looks to old for Henry) and I also really really missed John Williams score. I will diffently buy it day 1 when it comes out on blu-ray, I hope it makes tons of money so they will make a sequel.
June 15, 201311 yr Man of Steel Amazing ! Glad to hear that. I plan to go this coming week. Hope Amy ( ) has a BIG part.

June 15, 201311 yr And now that I've watched Michael's Nokia Trailer....wow! Lots of spoilerific imagery in there....! Watch at your own risk! Good call, Andy. I didn't notice it on the first viewing but on closer inspection, there's a reveal of a rather important plot point towards the end of the trailer. I think I'll edit and pop a little spoiler warning in there.
June 15, 201311 yr Author Good call, Andy. I didn't notice it on the first viewing but on closer inspection, there's a reveal of a rather important plot point towards the end of the trailer. I think I'll edit and pop a little spoiler warning in there. The Spanish CAM (missing 40 minutes out of 2:24 for some reason) is now on the internet, and after skimming through the different setpieces (I am spoiler: proof w/ comic book movies, not bothered by it myself but others may be..) I can say that the Nokia trailer is basically a spoiler! I have heard and have seen that the film is very action heavy, and maybe 1:00 out of 2:24 is fighting. I it, I would give it a 9/10. The good-Cavill,Shannon,Crowe and Costner we're all amazing. I think it's the best superman movie to date! I wonder if the critic's are bashing it so much because Snyder did get way to cocky on changing ALOT of the storyline I may be seeing this tomorrow so I will post a review fairly soon. Having seen glimpses of the actual film, I am starting to suspect that the critics need to be criticized.....for instance, the review I read in the Wall Street Journal recently was just a totally junk review that missed the point entirely. Many of these critics aren't people who like comics or respect the super hero genre for what it is. They are generalists who expect dramatic art when art was not the goal.... Superhero fans want to see men and women as Gods, and this film delivers on that promise. It’s interesting too that reviewers who like the movie mostly praise Nolan, while those who don’t seem to heap the blame on Snyder. ^ Yeah, and I'm sure that Nolan was probably only there working as a consultant. Critics also blame Goyer for the 'script' and dialogue. But apparently it's also consensus that this is much better than the last reboot- Superman Returns. Having seen the basic structure of the film but heard none of the dialogue, I have to say that it looks like a simple Superman story (superman IS simple and he is the original, basic superhero anyway...!) that's well choreographed with the most modern CGI effects and focuses itself on lots of superhero action. It is visually stunning with some moments of memorable imagery. That should be good enough for anyone who actually likes superheroes. I will go far enough to wager that this will be my third most favorite superhero/comic book movie out of 22 films (After Batman Begins and The Dark Knight). I may eat my words, but I'll update my list and rating after I see it. I am also quite certain that it is the best Synder film ever made and is clearly better than Dawn of the Dead, 300, and Watchmen. http://www.bellazon....ic-book-movies/

June 16, 201311 yr I just saw the movie yesterday. I love it. It was as good as I was expecting it to be.Henry Cavill is the perfect Superman/Clark Kent. He plays the part perfectly, so human that you just can't help but love him he reminds me of the late Christopher Reeves, he plays a similar Clark. Also Amy Adams killed it as Louis Lane, I didn't have much hopes for her but she nailed the part, I love that she made her character a strong woman and not the typical dame in danger we always see.The story was good I love how the villain Zod wasn't exactly a villain, all he wanted was to rebuild Krypton because that's what they put on his DNA and his soul, he wasn't a mean bastard who just felt like destroying earth, he did all because he loved his people/planet. I also love how Louis actually helped Superman save earth and how they portrayed the soldiers who decided to go to the fathom zone with the bad guys but save the earth anyway. Also, if you're a straight female or a gay man and you don't love Henry Cavill there's something really wrong with you. There were several times I thought my ovaries would explode.
