July 21, 201113 yr Author I guess since its my comp it would be rude of me to not say a couple things. The feelings of Americans and Europeans and everyone else alike are all equally important. A statement said about one country is no more or less relevant than one said about another. At the end of the day though, comments made with regard to countries ect. matter the most to the people that are from said countries and I think everyone has a right to speak up for themselves. My viewpoint into something said about a woman is jaded to a degree because I'm only partially in touch with my femenine side. For example, Jennka and Layla stood up for themselves on the 'pedo' thing and rightfully so and everyone is entitled to stand up for themself. Some clown not long ago was going into every famous British woman thread saying how much better Brazilian and Russian women were or somehting and those there too up for themselves. We all know donbot's a decent enough guy and doesn't hate Americans or else he wouldn't associate with so many of us. From the side of those offended though, since they were once American girls themselves and all the girls in their family are likely American girls I don't think it takes an unusual level of patriotism to be bothered by that or that he would have to be bitten by a patriotism bug to be bothered by a comment about little Australian boys. I can't say I know if he would or wouldn't. He has a right to just laugh or be offended either way. If an alien were to come in here and talk about humans, we would probably all be on his case regardless of nationality because then humans would be in question. I of course am American and also find American girls annoying, but I find European, Australian, Middle Eastern ect. girls equally annoying. Some of course are offended by things and others are not as people are different. A mosquito bite may be fun to scratch for one and give West Nile or giant zits to the other. For example, Reeyo is German and said that the German accent is the worst in the entire world and we all laughed whereas some German somewhere would have been offended and both are entitled to their side as people are just affected in different ways. In my experience mediating disputes here, the anti-American sentiment is so high here (though not as much among the most active members) that it can all likely bleed together for some. In other words, there's so many "you Americans and your..." and "stupid Americans" ect. that on the heels of that something on a much lower level as this may cause a greater than normal reaction just by virtue of being all on the same forum so even from a non malicious person it can appear as 'here we go again with this Americans this and that stuff' right on the heels of the other. There are negative comments about Europe from Americans as well as Europe on Europe crime too, so there's plenty to go around. In general life, I'd say Americans and Europeans both at times have a bad habbit of assuming superiority over other cultures and then like elementry school children pointing to the other one as doing it, so its inevitable that they'd but heads. The whole world may not get along, but those of us here can tolerate each other well enough and are much further along than the previous generation and the one before it and our children and children's children will look back at us and likely see where we fall short in our understanding of those who are different. But here we are, people from multiple walks of life coexisting decently enough and should respect each others grievances and be proud of that .
July 21, 201113 yr I find freedom od speech ridiculous in the whole of this democratic world... but c´mon, one sentence about "American teenagers" and it raises THIS? seriously? I´ve read many "insulting" or "sincere" statements about Europe and don´t get mad about it... how racist the Europe is, how pervert and full of phedophilia, how weird european commercials are... *sigh*let´s move on. Don said nothing wrong. I find the commercial annoying too - and hilarious at the same time. btw, Team America rulez i was just happy to see some american pride being displayed. too poften on here America is talked about like some evil empire with its citizens either being a-holes or uneducated. and after awhile, for many of us, we jsut get so fed up that even the slightest comment finally sets us off. for me, as i said, i was responding more to Pretty's post with the flags and pro-usa images.
July 21, 201113 yr Indeed, Joe. Well I am genuinely sorry for anyone who took offence, and sorry Joe for causing a minor hoo-ha in your thread I really am taken aback sometimes by the way some people take things though. How something like bigotry could be construed from what I said is beyond me. If I am annoyed by X when presented in the context of Y, it doesn't mean I hate X, or that I am passing judgement over X as a whole. Honestly, if the shoe was on the other foot - if someone had said the same thing, switching American for Australian, it wouldn't have registered any kind of reaction within me at all. But that's me, and I understand that some are more sensitive to things like that than others. So apologies again.. no harm intended I didn't realise that either, Sweet Lu. Can't say I've seen any of it about myself, other than one exchange I can recall <_<
July 21, 201113 yr Author Probably because most of them get deleted (though I haven't had to delete any country oriented thing since the guy posting Brazilian and Russian models in the Kate Middleton thread). Of course there's nothing to delete here and I don't recall ever having to delete anything in any of my threads at least because even if there's a misunderstanding I like everyone to just experess themselves and move on .
July 22, 201113 yr Joe, you should be a president, that was one awesome speech I was only taken aback, just like don, by the overreaction - but yeah, Lu is right, sometimes one has had enough - I do understand that. My teeth hurt as hell, it´s killing me

July 27, 201113 yr Mistine: 2.5. They should have developed that weird tree shot at 0:06 into something more Coco Chanel: 1. Not my thing <_< Nivea: 2.5. It looks as though they were trying for a slick Ocean's Eleven/Lock Stock sort of feel, but most of the editing cues came off kinda lame Nice colours though. Sensi: 4. Couple of the shots seemed out of place, but mostly quite interesting and sexy Max Factor: 2. Boring <_< CKin2U: 4. Great, but -1 for the stupid name :|
