Why does it feel like an VS exodus about ready to go down.

 

VS has never had this amount of new girls conglomerate at one shoot (at least that I can recall), and the amount of new girls at the show is also worrisome.

How many Angels are leaving VS in the next couple of years? o.o

 

Also if Lily is in fact in SI, that's not a good sign for her staying as an Angel one might think. In the past VS and SI have had a lot of issues sharing their "top girls". Even Marissa didn't really start to see Angel status till after she'd already gotten the cover and was basically done with SI. Selita was in the issue 2008, got her Bra in 2009 and was kicked to the curb, and it would seem Iza was only able to do SI after she'd left her angel spot.

They really need to sort themselves out and soon, everything seems to be going downhill, products, models, commercials, the list is endless.

Based on the 3 year rule I think this is the contracts situation:

 

Candice renewed this year. Karlie was also signed this year, so both of them should be sticking around for at least three more years.

 

Behati looks like she signed a full-contract in 2012 so she should be safe for two more years.

 

Lily & Lindsay should be up in early 2014. 

 

Doutzen's was up for renewal already. It's just a matter of months before we know if she's out, and I think she is.

 

This should also be Elsa's last year as PINK spokesperson since she started in early 2011 so early 2014 would be the end. 

 

Adriana's will also be for renewal somewhere in 2014, I think early 2014. 

 

Alessandra however, it's weird, she got a three year contract in 2004 which was renewed in 2007 for five years so that was done in 2012 and she clearly renewed it then. But she really really seems to be out or slowly stepping down so God only knows what's going on with her, but something tells me Alessandra won't be around for long.

 

 

So yeah, 2014 could very well be the year of the VS exodus because out of nine Angels/Spokespersons only three of them are locked.

Out of that group the only ones I think will get signed again are Adriana and Lily. I don't see Lindsay or Doutzen getting signed again by VS. Alessandra who knows with her. Every year it seems they use her less and less yet she's still around with them. Didn't Lily sign around the same time as Erin though? They both came in as Angels in 2010. So if that's the case wouldn't her contract have already been up? If it has then she probably renewed already.

 

I think Lais has to get that contract soon. They're giving her an open this year. It was supposed to be last year but she got injured and I think they filmed backstage stuff with her like they do the other Angels. So they're probably testing the waters with her. She's been in basically every campaign/commercial this year and last year. I can't think of anyone else who really is Angel material. There's heaps of great girls but none of them scream Angel to me.

Selita appeared in SI as a rookie and wore the Fantasy Bra the same year which was 2007.

What years did Heidi and Tyra work SI? They both were Angels and SI models at the same time weren't they?

I really hope Doutzen signs again. She is too perfect. She hasn't shot anything new in a while and isn't in the Holiday commercial but she was used plenty in the show. So it's hard to say with VS. Usually the girls getting dropped get kind of left out of the show their final year. KK in 08, Marisa in 09, Chanel in 11.

BTW What's the problem with VS and SI? They're not rivals, SI is just a magazine (one photoshoot a year)

Don't forget we also know who shot for VDay. Adriana, Lais, Gracie, Karlie... off the top of my head. Pretty sure Ale and maybe Doutzen didn't.

I already had a feeling that they might be dropping some girls by next year, butmy thing is if they do who will take their place because I really don't see any other potential girls....yet taking their place. I mean Lais and Martha are nice and all but they just don't scream angel material to me and making Martha an angel would just end up being another Ale/Izabel situation probably.

I think VS needs some fresh new blood at the top. That's the only way to get better. Say goodbye to Ed and Monica. No offense to them but they've had their job for a LONG time now. It's time for someone with some fresh new ideas to come in because its obvious that they don't have any new ones anymore. They had their glory days and now it's someone else's turn.

VS needs STAR power once their big names leave. Honestly, Karlie is probably the only recently signed angel that has enough star power. People may not like her, but they KNOW her. I wish Daria Werbowy had signed VS back in her hey-day too. If Rosie had stayed with VS, she would for sure be their main girl by now.

 

If only VS could sign Nina Agdal. I really do not know why they aren't jumping on her. She seems like she would be perfect for the brand, and she has star power.

VS used Nina before she did SI but they chose not to invest in her. I believe if VS would've made at least two of these models (Bar Rafaeli, Brooklyn Decker, Kate Upton, Nina Agdal) at the peak of their popularity, VS wouldn't have some of issues they got today.

i think VS needs to use Nina Agdal for Swim like they used Brooklyn decker in 2010cause she is pretty popular right now.and for Angel definitely Barbara Palvin , she is perfect but VS seems like her but in a weird way, i really think they difinitely dont like her body ( wich is a great curvy body)they always cover her stomach in print and in motion as well.
