MIRANDA KERR ON WHY SHE TURNS DOWN ACTING ROLES - AND HOW SHE'S SECRETLY A 'QUIRKY PERSON'

She's been married to an actor. She's a staple at the Vanity Fair Oscars after-party. She's starred in countless commercials. So why hasn't Miranda Kerr joined the long line of supermodels, from Elle Macpherson to Cara Delevingne, who've dabbled in film? TheFIX sat down with Miranda, 33, ahead of her guest-mentoring role on Australia's Next Top Model, and we found out just why she's rejected movie stardom.

"Everyone always says, like, 'acting, acting, acting'," she tells us. "[With] movies, generally you need to shoot for two months, three months. And I don't ever have two months or three months. "I've turned down a few things. But it is what it is, and I'm really enjoying what I'm doing." Miranda's roster of lucrative endorsements for the likes of Escada, Wonderbra and Reebok also means she's hard up for time – plus the fact she's got two "babies" to take care of: her five-year-old son Flynn and her skincare line Kora Organics.

"There might be people out there that put their face to something, but this is actually my baby," Miranda says of Kora. "I came up with the idea. It's my money I invested to get it up and running. Every facet of the business I'm involved with. "So that, and being a mother, and I have 16 different contracts – that's a lot. So to throw acting in the mix – I never would say never, but it's not on my priority list."

Add in her wedding planning with her billionaire fiancé, Snapchat CEO Evan Spiegel, and Miranda's got a packed list indeed. It's not that she can't pull off a role, though. Remember her "sexy Santa" in this 2012 Japanese ad for Limone Lipton ice tea? "I actually had fun doing that!" she says. "I love doing quirky things. Like, people don't realise that I'm quite a quirky person. "That was Japanese sense of humour, that ad. I was like, 'Why can't I smile and be like [enthusiastically singing the 'Limone' jingle]?' "They were like, 'No, be very serious'. I was like, 'Oh, okay'."

Tapping into that inner actress is something Miranda drew upon as a guest mentor for the remaining girls on Australia's Next Top Model  season 10. In next week's episode, she helps them with a high-fashion challenge – and she had some sage words of advice.

"I said to the girls, 'Don't let the clothes wear you, you need to wear the clothes...you need to find within yourself that character, because everything you need is inside of you. I feel like everyone has unlimited potential to tap into, the only thing that stops them is the mind." Miranda, who loves a positive affirmation or two on Instagram, surprised the models with inspirational notes while they were getting their hair and makeup done.

"I have these little affirmation cards, because I've written a couple of books for young women, about self-love and appreciating yourself and self-worth, which I think is something everyone needs to work on every day, because we're all our own worst critics," she explains. "So I got the cards and started shuffling them and said, 'Pick one'. They each picked a card and they were like, 'Wow, that was exactly what I needed to hear, that resonates with me'."

But Miranda's relieved she didn't have to join Jennifer Hawkins, Megan Gale and Alex Perry on the judging panel. "I don't think I could do that," Miranda says. "I would just feel too bad. I just can't. I'm just happy to advise. Never say never, but you know, I just like to help them feel good about themselves."

Miranda's episode of Australia's Next Top Model airs on Tuesday, November 8, at 7.30pm on FOX8.

Miranda Kerr celebrated her engagement to Snapchat billionaire Evan Spiegel at an ultra-private party in Bel Air on Saturday night. The Gunnedah-born model and her beau celebrated their upcoming nuptials at the Bel Air hotel — where rooms go for a cool $865 per night — with friends and some of Kerr’s Australian connections believed to have making the trip Stateside for the evening. Ironically, the celebration was kept totally off social media.
