Denying claims that the two were romantically linked, the former Victoria’s Secret model said she was “not in a relationship with anyone” - and that included the casino king. “No, he’s been a friend for many years,” Kerr, 31, said of Packer. “I’m not looking for anything too serious or to be in a relationship. I’m not ready, I’d rather just go on a date here and there.” Kerr also hit out at the ABC, claiming media spin was behind the depiction of her “fractured family” in a documentary earlier this year. Kerr said her “naive” family got “sucked into a situation” when they gave an interview for Family Confidential in February. In the 30-minute report with her parents, grandparents and brother, Kerr’s family said they hadn’t seen the model nor her son, Flynn, for more than a year, and made a heartfelt plea for her to return home. “I’m sure that was spun out of control, you know what I mean? I feel sorry for my parents because they got sucked into a situation and things get edited. I was like, ‘Don’t do it! Don’t do it!’,” Kerr said. “I think the media spun that on them - they weren’t really trying to do anything, they’re just a little naive, unfortunately.” She said she had invited her family to visit her “many times throughout the year” but “they’d been too busy”. “And of course, they love and miss their daughter and sister, just like I love and miss them. I’ll be seeing them soon, which will be really good.” ABC spokesman Nick Leys refused to comment. Kerr and Packer featured in two of the highest-profile celebrity splits of 2013. Packer announced his separation from wife Erica after six years of marriage, and a lavish $6 million wedding. Less than two months later, Kerr and Bloom announced they had split - setting the rumour mill running with speculation about Kerr’s potential love interests. Her separation from Orlando Bloom, her husband of three years and father of three-year-old Flynn, started a barrage of stories suggesting she was dating her friend Erica Baxter’s ex-husband James Packer. “Not true,” says Kerr, “I’m not in a relationship with anyone”.
