November 15, 20222 yr I bought these chocolate chips recently (for 8.99 USD for 72 oz (4 1/2 pounds)). I think these are the most low cost/economical semi-sweet chocolate in the US. They taste almost the same as Nestle Toll House Semi-sweet but are even cheaper. This chocolate is literally 15-10 times cheaper than other chocolate bars of its type. There are 3.5 oz. semi-sweet bars that cost 8.99 USD lol.. My personal favorite remains Nestle Dark Chocolate chips (52 % cocoa) though. These are the same quality as chocolate bars 5-8 times more expensive.

But I don't know this brand, it doesn't exist here. This is what I buy (they're pretty good!): https://www.monoprix.fr/courses/pepites-de-chocolat-noir-vahine-11973-p

Costco is owned by Walmart corporation. I have never seen that brand either, I guess it is french. I think Belgium and German chocolate are way better than American. what kind of chocolate is common in france?

French chocolate is pretty good too. German chocolate is quite bad IMO. They do great cars, but their food is usually awful
November 15, 20222 yr ^ Oh and yes, Vahiné is a French brand (it comes from the vahinés that are women from Tahiti).

Some small American brands have decent chocolate but the mass market brands like Mars, Hersey etc are bad. When I was a kid my family brought me to Hersey park several times. It's very fun but the chocolate is not up to standard. In the US German cars are overpriced and are expensive to maintain.

There are many French brands, but if you want a premium brand, there's Valrhona: https://www.valrhona-chocolate.com/shop They deliver in the USA. If you like dark and tasty chocolate, they have many great products with subtle tastes. But they also have milk chocolate.

But it was ages ago and I don't remember. how about lower cost French brand that is also good?

November 17, 20222 yr I also bought a Costco Tuexdo cake. This is a common item there and available all year round. It is $17. Overall I was a bit disappointed with it after reading/watching reviews by Costco shrills. I was hoping that it was as good as a cake from an italian bakery but it was significantly below those standards. But still pretty good. I would give chocolate mousse cake at my local bakery a 5 out of 5. This Costco cake is about a 3.7 out of 5 in comparison. The mildly sweet cake has a very thin layer of fudge on top- way too thin, 2 layers of good dark chocolate cake, one layer of cannoli cream, and one layer of chocolate mousse with brownie bits. I think the main issue with the cake is the inadequate flavor, I was hoping that it packed more of a punch. The dark chocolate portions are adequate but the chocolate mousse/fudge is way too little. The cannoli cream should not be a part of the cake in my view as it doesn't blend well with the rest of the cake. I would have liked the cake more if they used a lot more fudge on top, removed the cannoli cream and replaced it with more chocolate mousse.
November 20, 20222 yr I got a chocolate mousse cake from a local italian bakery today, ate a huge slice. The chocolate mousse was great but there is such thing as 'too much ' of a good thing. The dark chocolate cake to mousse ratio was literally 35:65, there was simply too much mousse. It overpowered everything else. It was the exact opposite of the Tuxedo cake, which had far too little mousse. Still enjoyed it though.
November 20, 20222 yr The other chocolate cake in the same bakery is perfect and has a different ratio: 55% dark chocolate cake 30% chocolate mousse 15% dark chocolate pudding The whole cake is then encased with one layer of thin dark chocolate fudge garnished with chocolate mousse
November 25, 20222 yr "This is either a heart warming family dinner filled with love and kindness or a horrific hostage situated where people are being fed brains. " "i just love how the oldest son is thinking as soon as i and turn 18 i am moving out, I ain't having any of this." "The smallest kid sounds terrified. This video has such deep cult vibes. "Is it okay if I spit it out?" Obviously, for many of them, this is the first time they're all eating like this." "Why do I feel a sense of fear in the air from everyone else when LK is talking" "It reminds me of that dinner table scene in resident evil 7 " 🤣
November 29, 20222 yr Bought and am enjoying another chocolate mousse cake. Like this one better (better balance). Looks like this: Two days ago enjoyed two dark chocolate mousse slices. I liked the flavor but it was over-sweet
