Over rays Posted May 7, 2008 Posted May 7, 2008 Hello everyone How are you all ? I want to know something about codecs. For example I'm using real player and this is because to watch online videso, online songs or play rm,ram file formats. Is this possible to play this without real player ? Any alternative way ? Quote
rockTheSky Posted May 13, 2008 Posted May 13, 2008 Yeah, you can use VLC media player. Google VLC and download it from the VideoLAN site. Quote
Over rays Posted May 29, 2008 Author Posted May 29, 2008 Sorry for the late reply. Thanks for posting and help me with this issue. Okay now i want to know that the software you tell me is a right choice ? I mean is they played all formats ? Thanks for helping me Good Bye Quote
rockTheSky Posted May 30, 2008 Posted May 30, 2008 Well It's certainly a good choice. It supports a wide variety of formats and video codecs. Failing that, you could always download the combined community codec pack in addition to VLC, then you're pretty much covered. Quote
Over rays Posted June 10, 2008 Author Posted June 10, 2008 I know. I was use Vista Codec pack before. Its sucks . After finding a good rating in softpedia I download this one. So I'm its big fan after that day. Now no worries . My system played everything for me. No matter its in 3GP format or any flash format. Quote
Hedatary Posted June 12, 2008 Posted June 12, 2008 I agree with him. VLC is a very good choice. If you don't like it, use divx. There the best for watching movies. clips or mini videos, i use vlc. Quote
Over rays Posted June 13, 2008 Author Posted June 13, 2008 Yes I know that. Thats why i recommend K-lite Because inside K-lite you also get a free codec of DivX but not online player. You have to manually install it later Quote
midnight lady Posted October 12, 2008 Posted October 12, 2008 I don't know if this is the thread to ask this but I have a problem...this is very important for my brother and I can't play the video it shows this: something about codecs...I downloaded this vlc player but it didn't help Quote
zattoo Posted October 12, 2008 Posted October 12, 2008 oh honey you have to start the movies in the vlc player Quote
midnight lady Posted October 12, 2008 Posted October 12, 2008 it didn't work nothing was played even when the file was the playlist Quote
zattoo Posted October 12, 2008 Posted October 12, 2008 you can start vlc player and then click on the file pull it on the player then it starts Quote
irenistiQ Posted October 12, 2008 Posted October 12, 2008 CyberlinQ PowerDVD is the best.. + i d/l oggfreecodeQs to play FLAC files. (Y) Quote
Max Posted October 13, 2008 Posted October 13, 2008 VLC play FLAC files without any additionnal codec Quote
alien777 Posted October 14, 2008 Posted October 14, 2008 Honestly, VLC is at the top of its game, I've been using it for quite some time. It can play mostly anthing you can find, and if it cant play it. You can download most of the missing codecs you may need. As for REAL PLAYER files, you will need an extenstion called real alternative, which will give VLC the ablility to play those types of files.Real alternativehttp://www.videohelp.com/tools/Real_AlternativeVLChttp://www.videohelp.com/tools/VLC_media_player Quote

JoeKnight Posted October 21, 2008 Posted October 21, 2008 In case anyone needs a good codec for mac Quicktime. Perian is really good. It even plays flv. Just no wmv. Quote
alien777 Posted October 28, 2008 Posted October 28, 2008 there is a program for vlc called quicktime alternative, which allows you to play mac quicktime files as well. VLC also plays flv... and wmv as well. Quote
