you mean Cameron's words "He's just a spoiled brat" ???

Sick I do remember that it made a big fuss that time when he decided not to attend the Oscar that year (again, I don't see the point if he wasn't nominated), and people (including the Academy) interpreted like Leo was bitter, and Cameron to call him "spoiled brat", only increased the controversy. We know that Cameron is a little bossy and likes things done his way but what was his problem???. He neither attended when Gangs of New York was nominated and I didn't see Martin doing a tantrum for that.

I know that in subsequent years, The Academy invited him several times but he rejected the invitation, but we know that his style isn't attending events just to present, and then I read somewhere that they decided leave it that way. and I quote:

Richard Zanuck and Lili Fini Zanuck are telling Leo he's off the hook for presenting in this year's Oscars, saying "We've decided to lay off Leonardo, we've let Leonardo know enough we wanted him, so let's give him a break now."

Daredevil Dicaprio's Zip Wire Stunt

Hollywood heartthrob Leonardo DiCaprio showed off his daredevil skills during a holiday in Mexico with his new love Erin Heatherton by enjoying a terrifying zip wire ride.

The Titanic star was pictured wearing a safety harness and protective headwear as he zoomed along at a stomach-churning height of up to 300 feet (91 metres).

And lingerie model Heatherton proved she's an ideal match for her actor beau by grinning with delight as she followed him down the Tortuga Zip Line ride at the Wild Canyon adventure park in Cabo San Lucas.

An onlooker tells British magazine Hello!, "Leo pulled some comical faces as he shot across the zip wire, but there was a hint of fear visible in his expression. But Erin appeared relaxed and carefree as she confidently sped along, while leaning back as far as she could to make herself more streamlined."

DiCaprio began dating Victoria's Secret model Heatherton following his split from Gossip Girl star Blake Lively in October (11).

Thanks for Zipline article and VS clip :)

Did you notice how the writer tries to suggest that Leo ( the male ) "there was a hint of fear visible in his expression" was frightened by Erin ( the female) was "relaxed and carefree "

Typical stupid gossip magazine comments .

Yes, I agree, very rarely do actors attend the Oscars if they are not nominated, and most who do present usually have something to promote around time of Oscars or are trying to get their face before the public.

As I read this year that Tom Cruise agreed to be presenter because he's coming off success of latest Mission Impossible ( shows he can hold his own with Brad and George ) ,and he has his new film the Rock of Ages coming out soon.

I dont know why Leo was so judged by that? And I saw no reason for him to attend that since he wasnt one of the nominees....right? So,why he should have gone? :idk:

That's why he will never be nominated? <_< And you know one thing girls...I think Leo is right not to attend when they call him. :D

Excerpt from travel article about visiting the famed Tiger's Nest in the Himalayas in Bhutan and a mention of Leo

306467944.jpg

The location of this tiny nation - hidden away in the Himalayas - has help the country preserve its cultural and spiritual heritage.

A benevolent Royal Family, aware of the dangers of too much change too quickly, has also helped keep the country insulated from the negative aspects of the 21st century.

When the fourth king, Jigme Singye Wangchuck, was crowned in 1972, he declared he was more concerned with Gross National Happiness than with Gross Domestic Product.

Since then, protecting the environment and preserving Bhutanese culture have been the government's top priorities.

Bhutan's leaders have also been wary about the impact of tourism and focus on what they call "high value, low volume" tourism.

About 30,000 international tourists visited in 2010, each paying the required daily fee. In 2012 the minimum daily fee is $US250 per day per person for a basic all-inclusive package, including entry level accommodation, food and transport. If you opt for luxury accommodation this will be an extra cost on top of the minimum daily fee.

This tourist tariff has resulted in a holiday spot that's become the antithesis of a shoestring backpacker destination.

The rich and famous, it seems, are as common as yaks in Bhutan.

"You did very well," Tsewang says over lunch back at the cafeteria, "but Leonardo DiCaprio did it much faster... as did Keira Knightley."

It's not every day that your fitness level is compared to Hollywood stars.

"But when I took (late British fashion designer) Alexander McQueen it took him over nine hours.

"Alexander smoked the whole time," he laughs.

Tsewang then falls quiet, looks into the distance and appears to be worried.

"He must have lost so much merit..." Tsewang says, shaking his head.

Thanks for alerting me to what I typed ; this lack of Leo news /pix is affecting my mind

I sure hope Joseph doesn't have to drop out of Django ; he's one of my favorites

We’ll see the fruits of those directors’ labours this year, as Gordon-Levitt will be seen in Premium Rush, The Dark Knight Rises, Looper and Lincoln. But his filmmaking ambitions might keep him from sticking to his small part in Quentin Tarantino’s Django Unchained. “It will be tricky schedule-wise, but I was honest with Quentin upfront,” Gordon-Levitt says. “He was so cool and encouraging. He said, ‘You strike me as the kind of guy who would want to direct,’ and I took that as high praise.”

Thanks Ox for Bhutan and Joseph articles  I sure hope JGL's schedule will allow him to be in Django!!! I love that guy. I 've been watching re-runs of 3rd Rock from the Sun and it just amazes me how far he's come

Is Dane DeHaan the new Leonardo DiCaprio?

If Dane DeHaan isn’t already a familiar face, just give it some time. While fans of HBO’s “True Blood” and “In Treatment” might already be aware of DeHaan, the 24-year-old Pennsylvania native has an impressive slate of upcoming titles hitting theaters over the next year. And he better get ready.

“I don’t know that I do spend a lot of time preparing myself for stardom,” DeHaan says with a laugh. “I try to just remind myself how lucky I am, and I’m just doing what I’ve always loved to do. I’ve never wanted to be famous, I’ve only ever wanted to be an actor. And for me, that is so much fun that I just look forward to that, and everything else is a really great side effect of that. I haven’t really reached a certain point where I lose a ton of my privacy or anything. So when someone comes up to me and tells me they really like me, I just say thank you.”

Of course he says that now. We’ll check in with him in another 12 months. What’s on the slate for 2012? DeHaan will also appear in Prohibition-era drama “The Wettest County” with Tom Hardy, Gary Oldman, Guy Pearce and Shia LaBeouf, as well as “The Place Beyond the Pines” opposite Ryan Gosling, Bradley Cooper and Eva Mendes. And next month he heads to New York to film writer-director John Krokidas’ Beat Generation drama “Kill Your Darlings,” starring as Lucien Carr opposite Daniel Radcliffe’s Allen Ginsberg. Before all of that, though, he stars in “Chronicle,” an inventive, found-footage-style science fiction film about a trio of high schoolers whose encounter with a mysterious buried object leaves them with awesome telekinetic powers.

“What I’ve found about working in movies is that I’ve had the opportunity to work with people who I really believe are successful and are celebrities because they are the best at it. Those are the people I want to work with. If that means being really famous also, then that’s OK with me,” he says, trying and failing to keep a straight face. “It’s like, ‘Oh, you’re going to be working with really amazing people, but you’re also going to be really rich and famous.’ Ask me again in 10 years.”

The Leo issue

Dane DeHaan is getting used to comparisons to Leonardo DiCaprio.

“I get that all the time — ‘You look like a young Leo,’” he says. “I think that if I was going to have to be compared to one person who was once a young actor, I might pick Leonardo DiCaprio anyways.” He’s even gotten the stamp of approval from his A-list doppelganger: “He actually came up to me at a party the other day and said hello. It was really a special moment,” DeHaan recalls.

Wellington's big Leonardo DiCaprio mystery

Was Leonardo DiCaprio in Wellington today? It might have been his role in Catch Me If You Can that meant Leonardo DiCaprio was harder to track down than, well, the jet-setting, identity-thieving pilot he played.

It might have been his high-class security doing their job. Or, gossip could have it completely wrong and he isn't in New Zealand at all.

Whatever the truth, the rumour mill was buzzing with suggestions the Hollywood A-lister was in Wellington today, specifically at the award-winning Matterhorn bar and restaurant in Cuba St.

When APNZ phoned a man cryptically said "whether he has been here or not is up to him and his own privacy", before hanging up.

But when APNZ visited Matterhorn, workers, customers and people at neighbouring businesses all said there had been no sign of DiCaprio.

The actor has reportedly been in this part of the world, jetting to Sydney to reshoot scenes for The Great Gatsby, directed by Australian Baz Luhrmann.

And he wouldn't be the first celeb spotted at the trendy destination.

An incident where Lord of the Rings hobbit Elijah Wood urinated in the nearby Bucket Fountain after a night drinking there with co-stars made headlines around the world.

Sir Ian McKellen, Gordon Ramsay, Jack Black, Orlando Bloom, Naomi Watts, Burt Reynolds and Liv Tyler have also visited.
