Trigger warning 🚩

This is controversial so remember it's just ONES PERSON opinion so pls don't feel offended. I just post it because I was relieved she didn't put Leo in the "men who hates women" corner (is that a bad thing then go ahead judge me) 😄

However here's authors Anne Helen Peterson take on Glenn Powell (highly overrated in my opinion but he managed to bring people back in cinema these days and not with just one movie so that's an achievement I guess). At one point the author made a list of men who "hates women". Not in the context of them as individuals and whether or not they’re misogynists it's about how they as actors perform the act of liking women on screen.

I thought it's kinda interesting ;)

2) Glen Powell Likes Women

Star image is always an amalgamation of roles and “real life” public performance, so some of this overarching feeling stems from the way he looks at Sydney Sweeney in Anyone But You, but also the way his character flirts in Everybody Wants Some and how he relates and defers to Daisy Edgar-Jones’ character in Twisters and his extended eye contact with Adria Arjona in Hit Man. It’s different than knowing you can get women, or wanting to control women, or even loving women. He likes them. He appreciates them. He enjoys their company.

Tom Cruise doesn’t like women. Neither does Miles Teller. Channing Tatum likes women. So does Ryan Gosling. Brad Pitt used to like women but doesn’t anymore. Leonardo Di Caprio only likes them occasionally. Bradley Cooper doesn’t, George Clooney does. Matt Damon doesn’t, Ben Affleck only does in that one scene in the J.Lo documentary. Marlon Brando didn’t, Montgomery Clift did. Paul Newman didn’t onscreen but did IRL. Cary Grant did, John Wayne definitely, definitely didn’t. Will Smith pretends like he doesn’t but I’m not convinced. Mark Wahlberg absolutely does not, but Daniel Day-Lewis does. So does Paul Mescal.

It's palpable in the way Powell looks at all these women — he really, intently focuses on them, which is a surprisingly rare thing onscreen and in real life. But some of it’s tied to that same confidence that makes him look good in clothes: it’s a lot easier to not be an asshole when you’re not obsessed with performing dominance. (The confidence also comes through in his willingness to go along with press shenanigans, like performing the apple dance with his Twisters co-stars)

Not exactly Leo but Marty is Leo adjacent.

Looks like he might not be doing Sinatra (have to say I’m relieved) or the wager after all.

An adaption of the book ‘Home’ would be a much better match for him and for Leo. It also fits into our prediction of a more intimate/ low key/ low budget next film. It would also be Leo’s second time playing a character called Jack of course!

always loved his short but empathetic interaction with Christine. probably the kindest treatment she got in that goddamn palace 💔

3 great interactions in only a couple of moments. king indeed.

I've never considered male actors from this point of view. An interesting article, but the author overpraises Glen, pure subjectivism. Your examples from Leo's filmography are spot on💯

Me neither -at least not intentionally- but from now on I will probably from time to time 😄

Totally agree! Lovely gifs as usual @Jade Bahr. The only one which I am almost 100% sure always wants to be in the spotlight all the time is Tom Cruise, I feel like everything is always about him in his movies. Just my opinion.

Haha you're so right 💯 He's the worst narcissist and clearly carrying some hero issues on screen which he is so less in real life.

Glad to see that Leo continues to have a good time, despite some jellyfish issues. Also love his man bun:wub:

Also call me crazy but his butt hasn't changed over the years :eyebrows:

I'm aware everyone on social media is whining about his "dad bod" but I love it 😍 I would pick him every day over every bland boring six pack we all look the same Hollywood dude.

Love how Vitto looks more concerned than Leo 😄

This doesn't make him unattractive at all. Mom bods, dad bods, still worthy.

So now we're entering the era where people have to WIN something to make a nice comment about Leo. Oh boy. Humans are the worst sometimes. Hilarious how probably everyone of them thinks they're any better than Leo when such low behaviour is clearly not 🤣

Those who condemn Leo the loudest are actually the worst. I've noticed their profiles related to such f*cked up shit several times💀

Bit off topic but I watched apples PRESUMED INNOCENT with Jake Gyllenhaal where Chase Infiniti (Leos movie daughter in the upcoming PTA movie) is playing -well- Jakes daughter :p Good lord she's gorgeous 😍 So if you want an impression of her I highly recommend this show. It's a really good crime series and you already can sense her star power :PinkCouture2:

The trend on social media is to hate on Leo for absolutely no reason, it's a time where talking bad about Leo is COOL.  🙄 :ninja:

But the worst part to me is this is happening for years and what Leo did of so bad? Great original movies at an era that cinema is sooo boring that the biggest sucess are sequences of movies made in 90's and early 2000's or comic books...

Anyway, I guess it's the old human frustation with their own miserable lives, they simply can't stand seeing sucessful people living their lives the way they want.
