Manic Mondays! Leonardo DiCaprio Edition! Meeting The Inception Star Practically One On One! Autograph Coolness!

 

The Pinkster is still on wedding bliss break, so I’m taking over for this weeks Manic Monday. Don’t worry… Pinky will be back next week for more Manic Monday goodness.

But today, it’s my Manic Monday and I thought a lot about this… What to do, what to do… And then… I remembered! Leonardo DiCaprio.

A few years back, I was able to meet and get a pretty awesome photo with the Inception star. He was filming a talk show and my friend convinced me to come down. She was like, “You should come! I think it’ll happen!”

I was like, “But, I’m at work! I don’t even have anything to get signed!”

Her response, “I have a vintage Details magazine with no label you can have!”

Cut to me jumping into my car and rushing to Burbank from Northridge. I couldn’t help it, the pull, the temptation of a vintage magazine, and of course meeting Leonardo DiCaprio.

When I arrived, I was just in the nick of time. There were four people waiting for Leonardo DiCaprio. Yep, four… Sigh… The good old days.

It was winter and of course I didn’t have a jacket, ah well… And then… out comes Leonardo DiCaprio. He was so nice. He had us all line up one by one and talked to each of us. So nice.

I know Fash and some other people were wondering when his space trip was...looks like sometime late this year/next year :)

 

Russia tycoon wants space trip with Leonardo DiCaprio

 

 

 

Klyukin paid $1.5 million (Dh5.5 million) at a gala auction at the Cannes Film Festival in May to be travel buddy to Hollywood actor DiCaprio when he heads into space next year aboard the Virgin Galactic.

For a coveted three hours, the Russian, who made his millions in banking and real estate, will get to see Earth from above, along with two pilots and five fellow passengers.

“A journey into space - now that’s the most incredible challenge of my life!” he said.

The sub-orbital trip was among 20 goodies up for grabs at the 20th amfAR bash, which helped raise a record-breaking $25 million for Aids research.

More than 650 people including A-listers like Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie have so far booked seats for a minutes-long suborbital flight on the SpaceShipTwo (SS2) set to begin by the end of this year.

So far Klyukin has spent a few short minutes with DiCaprio. When the time comes, he will join the star for an intensive training session in New Mexico.

kat: thanks for the article and the pic with the fan, thanks for the space trip article, and thanks for the new pics. Weird that in the LACMA event with Scorsese his hair looks shorter but in this airport pics not so much... I guess he cut his hair just a bit. :hehe:

^ Leo leaving US right now? Hm, it's unlikely (or not :p). Maybe he is back to NY? I think we have to wait for any new sightings like Ox said.

Some early Wolf predictions for the GG. I guess it is smart moving it to the comedic category as the drama category this year is packed for everything!

 

Comedy/Musical Picture could go to any of five films. "Inside Llewyn Davis" and "The Wolf of Wall Street" have three votes apiece while "Before Midnight," "Nebraska" and "The Secret Life of Walter Mitty" have a single Expert supporting their bids. (See below for a category by category breakdown by Expert.)

 

Comedy/Musical Actor is equally competitive with four fellows garnering two votes each -- Leonardo DiCaprio ("The Wolf of Wall Street"), James Gandolfini ("Enough Said"), Oscar Isaac ("Inside Llewyn Davis") and Ben Stiller ("The Secret Life of Walter Mitty") -- with Bruce Dern ("Nebraska") picking up one vote.
